Love this studio, community, and teachers! The classes are always inclusive and supportive, yet challenging and I always leave the studio with what I need. I am looking forward to the new space in Jack London coming soon!

This is hands down my favorite yoga studio, the best I've ever been too! There's such a genuinely friendly and inclusive community and all the instructors are great! The weekend classes do get really full, but there's awesome energy with everyone together. I wish they still had the 9AM classes, but super happy with the noon time when I can make it. Highly recommend!

I really like hot spot - the teachers are great and the classes are consistent. There’s a real sense of community and inclusivity at the studio. I do wish the schedule was more filled out - my schedule changes week to week, and sometimes I miss out on going to yoga because there’s only a few options for time. I’m bummed they eliminated the 9am class. I’ve been to a lot of yoga studios and hot spot has one of the most stripped down schedules I’ve seen. I am considering switching studios to have more options time-wise and variation of practice. I would love more yin/restorative options also, but a bit more active than the one Hot Spot offers Sunday evening. Hot Spot is solid, but is starting to feel limited for my schedule and practice. I hope to see the schedule fill out and more variety offered!

Such a wonderful opportunity this week to take three classes at Arise Yoga! The studio is spacious, comfortable and so inviting! However it is the caliber, warmth and dedication to practice from the staff that stands out the most. Thank you so much!

At the beginning of the summer, I decided to invest in a monthly membership at Arise Yoga, and it the BEST decision I've made in a very long time. Since I can store my mat at the beautiful studio and easily sign up for an array of classes, I have found myself getting into a yoga routine that has eluded me in the past. So far, I have been able to attend 2-3 classes a week, and I feel like a new person. I have now worked with five different teachers, each one so welcoming, clear, and inspiring. Arise Yoga is indeed a gem of Oakland; I am so happy to have joined the community. Jenny (the manager) will make you feel right at home.

Total gem! The studio is beautiful and clean and calm, the staff warm and kind, the teachers experienced and attentive. Both of my children were welcomed to their first in-studio yoga classes with open arms and hearts and they are now big fans. Thank you, Arise team!!

Really enjoyed my first time at Arise. They've created a large and very breezy studio, and the teacher was excellent. Great music, vibe, and super easy sign up process. Excited to join in the community here for a regular practice. I have only sporadically done video yoga classes this past year and was pretty rusty and stiff going in. The teacher offered both challenge and space to pull back and respect where you are now, and she articulated that really clearly. Great instruction, nice attention to alignment, and I'm excited to go again!

Left Coast is an absolutely amazing yoga studio! Most classes are warmed to around 82; initially I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy this but I love it. Instructors are warm and friendly, giving clear cues on how to get into the poses with the right alignment, and without hurting yourself. My favorite teachers at this location are Deb and Malka - Deb teaches slower Alignment Flow and Flow + Restore classes and Malka teaches Power Yoga, which is more of an energetic vinyasa flow. Also love some of the newer teachers, like Zach and Malika. Definitely check it out! They have a great new student special - first month of unlimited classes for $75.

After years of inactivity and being a self-professed "unathletic person" I decided it was time to start moving my body more, and I feel so lucky to have found Left Coast! The power yoga classes are just challenging enough to push me out of my comfort zone without feeling like I'm punishing my body. There is so much variety among the different classes and instructors that I feel like I get something new out of every class, but always in a warm and welcoming environment. I've especially enjoyed classes with Patricia, Catherine, and Mike N, but have yet to work with an instructor who wasn't wonderful!

I’ve been going to Left coast for years - it is such an awesome studio! Among others, Jessie is a fantastic teacher. The space is comfortable and welcoming and a retreat I did a few years ago was great!

These days I don't practice much power flow yoga but I loved my month at Left Coast. I was very impressed with Malka's classes. Her ability to thread bhakti and philosophy into her sequencing was amazing. Deb is also a great instructor with a slower flow and more alignment cues. It is also hard not to feel loved by her joyous heart.

I love yoga. And I was really excited to learn that there was a Free Week at a studio not too far from my house. Believe me when I tell you — it was an experience I will never forget. The people at this studio train like it’s the end of the world. Asking for recommendations for classes, they directed me to a unique format called Yoga Sculpt. I was perplexed when they recommended I bring the following: sturdy mat, towel, a bottle of water, 3-days of food rations, steel toe boots and at least 3 years of martial arts experience. When I entered the room they had emulated the Vietnam Jungle with 95 degrees, 40 percent humidity and a local improv group acting as “the aggressors” in the corner. When the class started, the instructor came in clad in patriotic leggings, and a headband that read “Only the Strongest Survive.” In class we did everything. Warrior 1. Warrior 2. Planks. Squats. Target range practice. Treaty writing. Topography. Sonya, if you’re reading this— thanks for the great sweat!

I’ve been a CP member since my Denver days. Proud to say I’m still a loyal member after many years. I recently did an 8AM class with Olga and I loved it. Olga is an experienced teacher and that offers growth in her teachings. I took home alot of growth and insight from her class!

I have never been to this location and they have now charged me $200 in two days for merchandise. Someone at this location appears to be stealing from me and it is unacceptable

I'm pretty new to yoga (have attended a few classes over the years, but never really "got into it"), and I have fallen in love with this studio! Rachel and the other instructors I've taken class with so far are wonderful - so welcoming to a beginner, giving good guidance on which classes could be the best fit and offering adjustments to poses that may be too challenging. The vibes here are excellent, all the other students are very friendly. They have a sister studio on Grand Avenue that is also lovely, if you get a monthly pass you can go to either location. Extra bonus - the cutest / sweetest dog at the Laurel Studio :-) This is a neighborhood gem, so if you live in the Laurel or nearby you should definitely check it out!

I attended a Power Yoga Foundations class here to start - My friend had started going and she gifted me a free class. I have never found a yoga studio I liked, as I am usually put off by the intensity of the yoga (like it's a competition for how flexible or strong you can be). However, this class was a breath of fresh air! The teacher was very quick with the different variations of moves, or how to use assistants to further your practice (blocks, straps, bolsters, etc). I never felt like it was a competition, and felt that that the teacher just wanted all of us to have a good practice. I loved it so much I proceeded to sign up for a monthly membership!

I love Left Coast! What a wonderful studio (both locations are), friendly, warm, inviting and they offer classes all day that are empowering. So far I’ve tried the yoga classes and pilates ~ love them all. Rachel the owner is inspiring and such a bright light of love. Thank you Left Coast!

I love this studio! I discovered them through ClassPass, and started taking Dana's alignment class, which is consistently one of the best classes I've taken in over 25 years of practicing yoga. I've since purchased classes, have taken classes with Zach, Heather, Kiko, Rachel, and Melissa, and I have not been disappointed. This is my favorite studio in the east Bay. In addition to great teachers, their communication is excellent, and they are continually growing and expanding their offerings. The community they have built is friendly, open and welcoming. Come check them out - you won't regret it!

I’ve been attending classes here regularly, and I’m so grateful for this studio! The teachers are insightful, skilled, and bring such a depth to each class. My children also take capoeira here, making it a wonderful extension of our school community. The owner, Rachel, is approachable and truly cares about creating a welcoming and supportive environment. I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking for quality classes and a great community connection!
