Great location for indoor climbing — bouldering and top rope. No prior experience needed to come in and start. We started by taking their single day pass (and equipment rental) a few times, and liked it enough to take the monthly membership and come regularly. We like their free classes from time to time, and they also regularly change the climbing walls… so always new challenges.

This is one of the largest climbing gyms in the bay area, so it has one of the largest variety of climbing routes and bouldering projects. They usually have a pretty good variety of grades as well. All the Movement gyms have the older style wall texture (before Walltopia became ubiquitous) which I actually prefer bc it looks and feels slightly more like real rock - especially on the crack climbs. This Sunnyvale gym also has a pretty good variety of crack routes. The fitness area is probably the largest I have seen in any climbing gym with a huge variety of equipment. During peak hours this place can get quite busy, so it's best to go on weekday mornings if possible.

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, some super sick routes and great workout equipment. It’s just way too crowded:( I was constantly waiting my turn to get on the wall and then once I was up there someone would climb a problem right next to me lacking any regard to my presence. There were children running around without supervision and overall the atmosphere was loud and disruptive. I definitely prefer a more peaceful bouldering environment so unfortunately won’t be going back.

Gym is really large with 2 boulder areas. The top rope and lead sections have great diversity in grades and a good variety for lead climbers which was exciting! There were some really tall walls and some shorter walls, so it was good for all people. The actual gym area was one of the largest I've seen at any climbing gym and really well equipped. The things I'm not a fan of are more so issues that I have with all movement gyms- there are GrirGris attached to all the top ropes, not all of them are smooth for belaying. Also you have to schedule a lead test way in advance, so if you're just visiting occasionally it's hard to be able to lead. This gym has a few area in ropes and the front boulder pit where there was a lack of lighting and it was really dark midday. Otherwise great experience first time!

A very well equipped climbing gym in the Sunnyvale area. Their top rope section is much larger actually has a great distribution of grades. Their rope climbing grades are extremely lenient: for ex. A 5.10c here is most likely a 5.9 in other gyms Surprisingly, their workout area is also pretty big. Getting a membership here is going to fulfill most of your fitness needs. Avoid peak hours if possible as it gets crowded and you ll have to wait in line for getting on the wall

I wouldn't know how to begin to describe our families experience with Mountain View Volleyball club other than to say it felt like they reached out and gave us a big ol hug when we needed it the most. In the short amount of time we were with the club, club Director Tyler Rigg became like family to us and one of our favorite people. Tyler Rigg is not just a great coach but an equally great person. We cherish our long summer days spent hanging at the club preparing for nationals and just hanging with the boys. As we look back, we long for a place where we felt so loved, appreciated, encouraged, supported and accepted. From the players to the coaches, staff and parents, you simply won't find anywhere like MVVC.

I do have the facility & the coaches there. I just wish they have a front desk / receptionist to help answer questions.

After having such a bad experience at MVVC and enduring extremely toxic coaching, my child sadly decided to quit volleyball all together. We never could have imagined this outcome given all the promises made to get us to accept an offer. We naively fell for the deceptive sales tactics, and will never return to this club. There is zero consideration for the well-being of players. Any communication with directors and coaches fell on deaf ears. They were not receptive to any type of feedback or even questions. If you take issue with any little thing, don't bother speaking up as you will be ignored or dismissed. Egos seem to be extremely fragile as any questioning will lead to retribution on your child. Confident and secure coaches that I know are usually open to conversations because they can stand by their decisions or admit when mistakes were made. If one of your goals is to instill a love for the sport in your child, this is the last place you want to go. There are so many other options in the area. Boys clubs are not as abundant, but Bay to Bay is wonderful! They do not have their own facility, however their programing and coaching is far superior to MVVC. As far as girls are concerned, there are so many options in the area that will better serve your athlete long term. This is not a comprehensive list: Campbell/Cupertino/Los Altos - Panda Volleyball Peninsula - Red Rock, Academy, Encore, or Rage Westside San Jose - Vision & Stingray Fremont/Livermore - NorCal & City Beach Don't believe the MVVC hype! Your son or daughter deserves better than this place.

This is a great athletics facility. Our family has been part of the MVVC club for 5 years and are very happy with this location.

The MVVC is good for young people of all ages. It has 4 huge courts and there’s coaches and recruiters who look for new players for the teams. It also has tons of volleyballs and gym equipment. If you are a parent you should sign your kids up for the team or the camp.
