Austin barbell is an amazing community, the coaches and athletes are so supportive. I came into oly lifting without any experience and always felt welcomed, I had to take a break for personal reasons but would highly recommend training here!

I’ve been training for since April 2023 at North Barbell Club and I highly recommend it! 1. Coaching: Rob, Christine, and Luis are fantastic coaches and know the exact tips and prompts to get you to understand what you need to do to improve your lifts. 2. Community: there is a great group at Austin Barbell, and the atmosphere during workouts is supportive, energizing, and fun! The community is also incredibly welcoming regardless of age, gender, or experience. 3. Growth: I’ve improved my strength and my confidence over the past 3 months! I hope to enter my first competition this year and know I will be ready when the time comes. Update 10/23: Competing: If you are interested in competing this is a great place to get involved! I just competed in my first meet and it was a fantastic experience and I can’t wait to do more.

I joined ABB almost a year ago, and couldn’t be happier with how my experience has been. From the beginning the coaches have welcomed me and made me feel comfortable learning a sport that I had little background in. I would recommend ABB to anyone, from beginnings to even the most experienced weight lifters.

Absolutely love this gym! Joined back in April and very proud of how much stronger I have gotten with the custom programming coach Tina has written for me. 10/10 space, vibe, and the energy drink fridge is always full! Also love how welcoming this club is for women!!!

The equipment is great, as is the ‘round the clock access. Most of the people are cool. Cleanliness could use some work, as could staff and trainer professionalism. There is one weird bald trainer in particular, Mike, who puts his business’s stickers on all the equipment and larps as a Viking. I don’t know if he is still there, but he always hung around with his girlfriend. On a few occasions he would interrupt my workout to randomly throw shade and then try to offer his services after insulting me. It’s a good gym, but some extra cleaning and standards of professional conduct for staff and trainers would go a long way. I enjoyed working out here, but ultimately ended up investing in my own home gym after the issues above. I’ll check it out again in the future and possibly get some day passes (and amend my review) if things have improved.

I liked this gym the instant I walked in the door. Every piece of equipment you need to get strong and build an amazing physique is here. The reception people are friendly and helpful; and the regular gym members are respectful, polite, and willing to help. It’s also very clean, well maintained, and organized. This is a gym for people who are motivated to exercise and improve themselves. The drop in rate of $5 is a super deal, and I took advantage of it for months until I committed to a membership. My favorite option is their paid in full plan, which is sold in time blocks. Also, the owner is an awesome guy. I think he owns Iron Forge gym in Round Rock as well. That is a really cool gym too. Highly recommended.

Solid gym, especially for the price of the one-time admission; 5/5. Would train there again. Also, Ashley is really helpful. Great service rep!

The only gym in Austin that lives up to its name. Eat big, lift heavy, to get bigger. The community is A+++ and the owners are regularly present and actually build rapport with their members. There are few places you can feel safe, seen, heard, and strong and even fewer places where you can learn, teach, enrich and grow…. And it’s all part of the Big Tex way.
