Enjoyed taking classes here until recently, when I was treated rudely by an instructor for arriving exactly 5 minutes after the start of class, due to a public transportation delay that was completely out of my control. While we conversed, she repeatedly called me "lady," to my face, although I told her my name, and I was polite in response. Contacting customer service was extremely difficult: no response through email or call until I checked in with my complaint again. I received a voucher for a free class, but no apology for the absolutely unnecessarily rude treatment I received. Overall, my experience here was significantly tainted and I don't recommend using the Rittenhouse location.

Italia is a fantastic pilates trainer. I did the full body class and it was amazing. Hit everything. Really appreciate Italia keeping an eye on me and giving just the right amount of guidance for my first class 🙌

Been coming to this Solidcore for workout for almost a year now. Really see some transformation for both physical and mental health. This studio is also pretty close to a Trader Joe’s and the Solidcore + trader joes combo on weekends have been truly therapeutic for me!

I’ve dabbled in yoga before but I am definitely beginner level. I decided to take a class today at Thrive Yoga, and the instructor was an absolute gem. She was super friendly, offered modifications for those of us who were beginners and even asked if we were okay with her making adjustments. Gotta love someone who respects both your personal space and your level of flexibility - or lack of flexibility LOL Now, onto why I’m knocking off two stars. Enter: the front desk woman. I walked in curious about membership options, thinking yoga might be my ticket to finally managing life’s stress - a high hope but nonetheless can’t knock it till you try it. But nope! This woman looked at me like I’d just asked her if the sky was green when I inquired about how to rent a mat. The vibe? Less “welcome to your yoga journey” and more “ugh, another clueless beginner.” The class was great, but judgmental and condescending front desk left me with a really bad taste. If you’re a beginner looking for a warm, fuzzy welcome—maybe bring your own mat and try another studio! I am still hopeful that yoga will be my cure to my stress (again high hopes) so I will be trying other local studios.

TRX + Pilates Springboard class with Maggie was very good; Maggie is the sweetest instructor and corrects and encourages you; the music was not too loud and there was no yelling in a microphone, which I absolutely love; the space is beautiful, light and spacious. Highly recommend.

I am writing to express my considerable disappointment with my recent experiences at Solid Core. Despite my enthusiasm for the classes offered and my commitment to attending despite challenging weather conditions, I have faced considerable inconvenience due to the center’s policy and management practices. Firstly, the inconsistency in the application of rules is disheartening. I understand the necessity of maintaining strict attendance policies; however, I find it unjust that clients are penalized for arriving mere minutes late due to unforeseen circumstances, such as inclement weather, while the center reserves the right to cancel classes with less than an hour’s notice. This asymmetry not only disrupts clients’ schedules but also reflects poorly on the establishment’s regard for customer time and commitments. Moreover, the lack of adequate communication and compensation for such last-minute cancellations adds to the frustration. As customers, we plan our schedules around these sessions, often making significant personal sacrifices to attend. The expectation that clients show understanding and flexibility should be reciprocated by the service provider. I had hoped for a more professional and considerate approach from Solid Core, especially considering the commitment and investment clients make towards their health and fitness through your services. Unfortunately, my experiences have fallen short of these expectations, leading to not only personal inconvenience but also a reconsideration of my patronage. I urge the management to review and amend these policies, ensuring fair treatment and respect for all clients’ time and commitments. It is in the interest of both Solid Core and its clientele to foster an environment of mutual respect and understanding. Respectfully, Jeff

Went to Solid Core for the first time today with my girlfriend (She’s been raving about it). Had an awesome experience with coach Liz! She was super encouraging and directional which made the class zoom by. Would recommend to anyone looking to get out of the norm!

If you’re looking for a positive and badass group fitness environment [solidcore] is your place. The Center City classes are always filled with a hardworking crew and the best coaches bringing good vibes and a (very) hard and humbling workout with good tunes to get me through. 2 bathrooms + a changing room (no showers) and lockers for stashing your belongings. Front door is also code locked - I typically go to the early morning classes during the week (I bike or bus - haven’t had issues on the block!) and it’s the absolute best way to start my morning. My membership is worth every $$ —you really can’t replicate this workout on your own or anywhere else. And extra shoutout to my fav instructors Molly and Tori if you’re looking for recs!!

All I can is WOW!! Julia the trainer was amazing not only with coaching the class and giving positive reinforcement but with also making sure my form was good throughout the class and adjusting the springs for me throughout each move. I left feeling amazing and confident. She reassured me I did great and it’s baby steps!! I never knew you could work so many muscles in just an hr. I worked muscle I didn’t even know existed! If you’re thinking about taking a class don’t hesitate and just book the class you’ll be thanking me later! Thank you again Julia you are the best!

I love this studio so much! Unfortunately, I recently moved to the suburbs and can't attend classes here anymore. I was in the best shape I've been in and haven't been able to find any comparable classes near me. The coaches are great. I highly recommend trying, even if you're nervous! The coaches make sure to provide guidance and make you feel comfortable.

Took a foundations class with Yemi and it was wonderful. I had only taken a single intro class previous but Yemi was very cognizant of the varying skill levels in her class and how to challenge everyone at those different levels. The studio had a parking lot, locker, areas to hang up down jackets. Only ‘con’ would be not having showers but a very minimal issue.

I will definitely recommend this class. It made me realize that I need to pay attention to my core more and I will definitely return again.

I’ve never done Pilates, and I haven’t worked out in a long time, so I did the complimentary Intro to Retro class with Alanna. It was challenging, without being overwhelming, and really rejuvenating. Everything was explained clearly, so I wasn’t sitting there confused. I will be back!!

Retro is awesome! I’ve been going for a few years now and the studio & instructors are great. Pilates was very fun to learn there, and easy to keep up with. Kayla the owner is very friendly & kind and created an amazing space. Stef is absolutely the best, she brings the community and love into every class, and all around a great instructor & friend!

I love Retro Pilates! When I first joined, I was super excited to see Stef on the staff since I had taken a class with her several months back at a different studio outside Philly (which I stopped going to because schedule differences/commute). Her classes are challenging but in a good way - you feel the burn during the class, the next day, making your investment well worth it. Plus she is super energetic and funny and will make you laugh through the pain! She also takes the time to build connections with her clients. The clients come from various different backgrounds - some are newbies to pilates and some are more seasoned, so don't ever worry about feeling out of place. It's a really welcoming space. I love the unique retro theme and the colors and the allegro reformers.
