The layout is dysfunctional. You're gonna have to be going up and down the floors almost constantly during your session. There also aren't enough ropes for the pulldowns. The lockers are the best I've ever seen. They have little compartments so you can organize your belongings neatly. The steam room is decently sized and comfortable. The hair dryers are missing the flat end attachments. And weirdly, the knob for my shower control was installed backwards. Water pressure is good though. Aesthetically the place looks very nice and charming. In terms of functionality, it's not so great.

This place is a fantastic gym! 🏋️♂️ Equinox in Flatiron 🗽 is an incredible sports center with threads 🏃♂️, weights, and circling machines! 🚲 They also have a steam room 💨 and great shower! 🚿 Staff 👨🍳 is super friendly and professional! Queen the location manager is super helpful and Brendon Green is a great instructor! I wish I came here more often!

A solid 4 stars for this location. Great facilities that are clean and well maintained. Large locker room with showers, steam and fresh towels. All the requisite Kiehls products included. The front desk staff is nice. There's a juice press here that serves juices, coffee and lite snacks. This facility is 4 levels of fun with yoga and boxing studios. Conveniently located in the popular flatiron district. Check this place out!

Came down to visit some friends for a weekend and was worried about missing a workout, but Julie came to the rescue and was immensely helpful in getting me into the club!! Everything was super clean and they had all the equipment I could’ve asked for, and I was able to grab a quick bite and energy drink at the juice bar on my way in. Thank you Julie, I hope to be back again soon!!

Disappointing Experience and Poor Communication I had a frustrating experience at Chelsea Piers Fitness. During a walk-through with Zack, I was told that my 16-year-old son could use the gym, which made me excited to get him a membership, especially since they offer boxing. However, both times I brought him, they asked for his ID. I explained that all he has is a school ID, which doesn't have his birthday on it because he's 16, but they wouldn't accept it. When I tried to cancel my membership on 1-14-25 6:30pm, I couldn't do it directly. The manager said someone would call me to cancel, but that never happened. Overall, it’s been a big waste of my time and money. The lack of clear communication and poor handling of the cancellation process were very disappointing.

One of the best gyms I been to. Offers a good amount of sport activities (rock climbing, basketball, swimming, running). The gym equipment's are clean and most importantly plenty of space to workout. The gym staffs are nice and they offer lots of classes as well.

By far the best gym I have ever been to in Manhattan! Immaculate facilities, tons of equipment, extraordinarily well-kept and fresh-looking locker room with an excellent sauna and steam room. However, what sets this place apart from the rest is the atmosphere and environment in the gym. It’s light and airy, with high ceilings and windows that let in tons of natural light, looking out to the river. Since it’s on a pier, you can even see the Statue of Liberty down the bay. It motivates me to come back every day. The sheer amount of activities here is mind-blowing, from the indoor track, boxing ring, volleyball, basketball, and pool. Even the stretching area is excellent, with the artificial turf. The cafe seating area can double as a coworking space with Wi-Fi and views looking south down the river. The coffee in the cafe is even good! They also offer a private locked bike storage area in the garage included in the membership. I can not say enough good things about this gym.

The facility is great and the new management (since 2019 I believe), just terrible. Right now, the swimming pool is closed for renovations: it was supposed to reopen on Labor Day weekend, it’s now mid November and still closed. On top of that, the management does not communicate on expectations on reopening timing. Terrible customer service. Also, be aware of hidden fees. I asked to freeze my membership because of the pool not being accessible and they are now charging me 30$ MONTHLY freezing fee: this is totally unreasonable and definitely gives me the feeling they are in the rip-off business. Please owners, change the management as soon as possible: CPF it’s been a lovely place for more than 8 years for me and the people in charge have been making the customer experience worse every day since they joined.

While in NYC for business, I got a day pass at Crunch Fitness on the days I worked out, and it was such a great experience! The staff were super friendly and really focused on making sure everyone felt welcome. One thing I loved, especially compared to gyms in Germany, was the free towels—such a nice touch! The location was super convenient, and the gym had everything I needed for a solid workout. Definitely a place I’d recommend to anyone visiting the city!

Very nice cute gym but it threw me off that there were no squat racks. Clearly this gyms main clientele doesn’t mind that, but just a good thing to know before coming. Beautiful locker room, love the option of a hot sauna or a steam room. Will definitely be back.

This gym is so dated 😩 so old looking. When are you even going to remodel and update your look and new equipment. It has to be one of the uglier gyms I've ever seen. Looks like a cheap gym from the 1980s or something. Just saying 😌 🤷BTW I'm being kind giving it 3 stars 🌟

I had chance to visit this gym recently. The place has lots of new equipments for every level of exercises. It is very clean and organized overall. The staffs in the front desk are very welcoming and friendly. I also like the sauna and steam room in the female room. There are also plenty clean towels in the changing room. The location is also very convenient. I had a great experience overall. Highly recommended to everyone who enjoy every level of exercises!

Overpriced, Unprofessional, and Poorly Designed I recently joined this gym, hoping for a solid place to get my fitness routine back on track, but it’s been a huge letdown. Between the outrageous prices, poor design, and an environment that feels more like a photo shoot than a place to work out, I won’t be renewing my membership. First off, the design of the gym is terrible. The layout feels cramped and inefficient, -and its a 4 story gym... go figure! The locker rooms are another nightmare. Instead of being a place to get changed quickly and move on with your day, they’ve become a social media hotspot. People spend hours in the locker rooms, sitting around, taking pictures, and recording videos for Instagram. It’s not just a quick snap here and there—these people are practically living in the locker room, blocking the benches and making it impossible to change or even have some privacy. The staff seems completely oblivious to this issue, which only adds to the frustration. They are too afraid to say anything because of the "extreme progressive movement" or blasted on social media and being cancelled. And let’s not even get started on the pricing. This gym is far too expensive for what it offers. it feels like you're paying for a lot of fluff rather than real value. I could find a much better gym for half the price, where the equipment is more spaced out, the environment is focused on fitness, and I’m not paying for the privilege of having to fight for space or avoid selfie culture in the locker room. Overall, this gym is a total waste of money. Poorly designed, overpriced, and with zero regard for creating a serious workout environment, it’s not worth the hype. If you’re serious about your fitness goals, I suggest you save your money and find somewhere else that actually cares about its members.

“Terrible Experience – Adrea and Equinox Greenwich Ave Are a Complete Scam!” I had a Hydrafacial done with Adrea at Equinox Greenwich Ave, and it was hands-down the WORST facial experience of my life. I informed her multiple times beforehand that I have sensitive skin and needed her to be cautious. Despite this, she applied way too much pressure with the suction wand, leaving me with severe redness, irritation, and even scarring. This is completely unacceptable for a service that is supposed to be gentle and marketed as safe for sensitive skin. During the facial, I expressed my discomfort and brought up that my skin was becoming increasingly red and irritated. Instead of addressing the issue or adjusting her technique, Adrea dismissed my concerns and blamed my skin for being “too sensitive.” This kind of unprofessionalism is appalling, especially from someone representing Equinox, which prides itself on luxury services. I have had countless Hydrafacials before at other places and NEVER experienced a reaction like this. It is clear that Adrea lacks the skill and care to perform this treatment properly. Equinox, as a whole, is an outrageously overpriced scam. They charge obscene amounts for services and yet clearly don’t care about their customers. The level of disregard for my experience—both during the session and in its aftermath—is shocking. For what they charge, I expected far better treatment and professionalism. Instead, I was met with recklessness, dismissiveness, and damage to my skin. I am demanding a full refund for this disaster of a facial. Equinox needs to reevaluate both its staff and its approach to customer service because this is unacceptable. I strongly urge anyone considering their spa services to stay far away. Equinox is all flash and no substance—you’re paying for their ego, not actual quality or care.

Experiencing Equinox for the first time on a guest pass was a memorable occasion. While I was inclined to award a perfect rating, I withheld one star due to the noticeable wear and tear on some of the equipment. However, this minor flaw was overshadowed by the overall excellence of my visit. The front desk staff exuded warmth and hospitality, creating an inviting atmosphere from the moment I arrived. Navigating the gym was seamless, even during peak hours, as there was ample equipment available, ensuring the space never felt overcrowded. I eagerly anticipate beginning my membership and making Equinox a regular part of my routine.

Equinox Greenwich Avenue is widely recognized as NYC’s top gay gym, offering an atmosphere that’s unmatched in inclusivity and LGBTQ+ pride. This isn’t just a gym; it’s a space where LGBTQ+ members can workout freely, relax in the immaculate locker rooms and steam room, and feel completely at ease among like-minded individuals. The vibe here is distinct and vibrant, a true community setting where members find both fitness and camaraderie. Straight men, if you’re truly open-minded and comfortable in an environment where hot gay guys might flirt just as naturally as anyone would at any other gym, you’ll fit right in. Otherwise, there are plenty of other gyms in NYC! For those who value an inclusive, respectful, and fun vibe, this place is a true gem. 🏳️🌈💪

Joined this location this past summer and have had a great experience thus far. The locker rooms are kept in great condition (Joanne is the best!), they have all the equipment you would ever need and the classes are plentiful. While it can be busy occasionally, it never feels too crowded thanks to the multiple floors and different workout areas. Would definitely recommend!

I used to work there as a Personal Trainer. It's a beautiful gym and the staff is great. There's a "service oriented" philosophy as it should be for the price. Moist towels scent with eucalyptus and PT doubled as floor monitors during down time until your client list was full. That means the members and staff actually got to know each other very. There's complementary toiletries in the locker rooms and showers for members.

I visited this club and took a tour with my friend who was gifted a membership by her boss. I got a massage and the Therapist was above and beyond awesome! I actually asked her if she does in-home private services outside of Equinox because she was just THAT good. She gets 5-stars but regarding the gym itself, I was not impressed. Long wait for machines, classes seemed crowded and after my workout, there were no towels for me to use. Based on their prices, I'm surprised that it seemed more like a low-end facility rather than the luxury that I imagined would be associated with Equinox .

I registered for this gym in May 2023, but I've been experiencing technical issues with the app since day one. I can't log into my account to book any classes. I spoke with my account adviser, Caroline, who said she would need to involve the technical team to help resolve the issue. However, after a week, I still can't book a class through the app. I then called my account adviser to cancel my membership. The app indicates that my membership is canceled, but I'm still being charged month to month for the next 17 months. I called them today, and they said they can’t do anything about it, even though it's not my fault that I couldn't log into my account thus I had to cancel. The manager- Tang, said he can't do anything to help!

===update === After 2 months of equinox promised this issue will be investigated, there was 0 communication, 0 follow-ups from Equinox other than promotion emails ========== I have been a dedicated member of Equinox, consistently enjoying the high-quality fitness classes and the community's mission. Unfortunately, a recent incident at the Columbus Circle location has compelled me to cancel my membership. The issue began when I placed my scooter in an area(hall way) as suggested by an assistant manager(see picture), which seemed to be a misunderstanding on the part of the general management. Last Saturday, the General Manager, Mr. Tang, took it upon himself to lock my scooter away without prior notice. When I questioned this action, he challenged the legitimacy of my earlier interaction with the assistant manager in a manner that I perceived as rude and mistrusting. This incident not only caused me inconvenience but also signaled a concerning lack of trust and respect towards members. What compounded my disappointment was the lack of any form of apology on locking up my properties or remedial action from the General Manager, despite being made aware of the situation and its impact on me as a member. Further, the response—or lack thereof—from the Equinox Concierge service did nothing to address the situation, leaving my concerns unacknowledged. The only reaction I got from concierge is: “We're sorry to hear you are leaving Equinox and we thank you for your time with us. If you would like to reinstate your membership, you may do so within 60 days of your cancellation date. This review is a difficult one to write, given that the coaching staff and classes at Equinox are exceptional. However, management's trust in and treatment of its members is equally important. I’ve been to many equinox clubs, and this Columbus circle club is the reason why I choose to leave. If you have a chance to try a different club/fitness place, please try it and don’t let anyone treat you as they do.

EDIT: The current manager did reach out and assured me they're working on fixing the lockers as well as on educating the gym goers to proper gym etiquette as well as asking staff to re-rack as well. They were very polite and accommodating, so I changed the review from 2 to 3 stars just based on my interaction with them ORIGINAL REVIEW: Do you like having to remove other people's plates ON EVERY plate-loaded machine you use? Do you spending ten-fifteen minutes in the lockerroom trying to find locker with a lock that actually works or that isn't already used? Do you like working out in a dark basement club where the lighting reminds you of a rave in Brooklyn and no windows to the exterior? Then this club is the perfect club for you! Come on over! Just remember don't touch those weights after you load up your machine! It's a problem for the next person!

As a fitness professional and as a professional bodybuilder I must say I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS GYM! Starting with the staff. I travel to NYC often and need to train at a gym that has it all. Every single time I would walk into TMPL it is always a pleasant experience. Smile, check in, purchase a pre workout and grab a sweat tile. Easy breezy. The lockers are my fave because you don’t need to bring a locker. It’s also fully equipped with towels, lotion, deodorant, steam room and plenty of showers. The workout floors are set up perfectly and while there is PLENTY of equipment (even at busy times) most people are super cool to have you jump in on a set. With that said, so many guys are super easy to chat with or ask for a spot. JOINING this gym is a no brainer whether you live in NYC or if you visit often. Also, they have the vegan protein shakes for post workout. Haha. It’s the little things! Thanks guys for making it such a great place to train, Shaun T

Went with a friend to join a class at 74th St. Have friends who have had day passes. Petite front desk woman at 8a on Thurs was extremely short with me and told me I had to speak with membership who wouldn’t arrive until mid morning. I was kind about the misunderstanding. She probably shouldn’t be at the front desk, doesn’t know how to interact professionally with clients. I was going to rejoin at the west side location, I was a member for many years pre Covid and now this interaction makes me rethink it. Unfortunate.

If you’re looking to resume your workouts after Labor Day weekend, find somewhere else. You’re going to work out in a hole in the ground with the AC not working at times, some other times, there is no hot water. Overcrowded classes (and it’s not even September yet). Also you better know how to properly do the exercises in the group classes, because none of the instructors is ever going to correct you. They come in and out, they don’t even look at you. This is what $300 a month get you in New York City.

Would be a great gym if the AC worked. The AC is constantly broken for months on end. Management is not helpful and refuses to provide credits even when the AC is broken in 90 degree heat. As far as I am aware, the AC has never worked properly in the cycling studio. I joined this gym so I’d be motivated to go- the heat in the gym leaves me motivated to stay home. Management is dismissive and not responsive of these concerns.

Great location, mins walk to Central Park, Columbus circle and Subway station. 15mins walk to Times Square and every other attractions nearby. 20mins walk to the MET and AMNH. If you expect this is a star rank hotel, it will fail to reach ur expectations, however if you think this is a university dormitory, the facilities will fit the requirement. This an affordable, comfortable and safety property not only in West side but entire Manhattan! The property have around ten private bathrooms at the floor of semi-private bathroom room, and you can easy access to the view of Central Park from the windows, it also comes with bottle filling machine which can save ur bottle.

Here are the lyrics to the iconic song "Y.M.C.A." by the Village People: Young man, there's no need to feel down I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town There's no need to be unhappy Young man, there's a place you can go I said, young man, when you're short on your dough You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find Many ways to have a ball It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A Young man, are you listening to me? I said, young man, come on and take a plea You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal You can do whatever you feel Young man, I was once in your shoes I said, young man, I was down with the blues I felt no man cared if I were alive I felt the whole world was so jive That's when someone came up to me And said, "Young man, take a walk up the street" There's a place there called the Y-M-C-A They can help you, but you've got to be brave It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A Y-M-C-A, it's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A Y-M-C-A, it's fun to stay

I love Equinox, but for one overriding, and scary, factor. The lifeguards and management that enable them don't care about your safety. The lifeguards are preoccupied with their own entertainment; they sit on a chair amusing themselves on their phones, heads down fixed on their screens, rather than looking at the swimmers they are paid to watch. Some of them sit and do their homework. Others sit and read a book. One weekend lifeguard was transfixed on his screen, streaming what appeared to be a movie. At least two wear AirPods, or other ear pieces which all but ensure that they don't hear swimmers. This means that the employees whose job it is to guard swimmers don't see them because they are not looking at them, and they don't hear them because their hearing is compromised. Management has been alerted to this repeated times, but the problems persist. Even new lifeguards seem untrained for the task. One new lifeguard sat gabbing away on his phone while swimmers swam in the wrong direction in their lane. It's as if the guards start their shift and say to themselves "great, now I have time to sit here, go through my emails, write texts and otherwise have fun." They are getting paid to guard against potentially fatal accidents, yet they fail to do their job and leave swimmers at risk.

Very vertical but equipment-packed. Everything here including open squat racks almost any time. 130lb dumbbells. Tons of cardio. Haven't seen the place packed, but haven't been here in the after-work hours. Great workouts every time.

I've been a member on-and-off since 2004 (when it was the Reebok Club) and a member of various gyms (including other equinox clubs) since I was a teenager. I have NEVER seen filth or mismanagement on the level I've seen since rejoining the Sports Club in 2023. The locker rooms are filthy and unstaffed. Previously there was always one person upstairs and another 2 downstairs during busy hours. Now maybe there is one person for 3 floors. There are always dirty towels everywhere. On one occasion, a dirty pair of underwear was on the floor for at least an hour, another a large, dead cockroach lying by the jacuzzi. The hairdryers are so weak they couldn't blow out a candle. Several hairdryers have been "out-of-service" for months as has at least one shower. Then, there was the day TWO MONTHS ago when I opened a shower door to discover dirty takeout containers, utensils and towels in the stall. The same day dirty, wet towels were also all around the locker, steam room and sauna. I complained to the front desk and in writing to management. Still waiting to hear back. I've emailed the GM multiple times with NO response other than a AGM thanking me for "policing the locker room since he can't". Wait, they have no female employees able to enter the locker room to see it's filthy and lacking towels??? Are they unaware that they have nobody staffing the locker rooms. There are also frequently people in the spa area who are clearly not members (you can tell because they have all their belongings including their purses and phones nearby and sleep on the lounge chairs). This in addition to people talking on speakerphone in the locker room. Of course there are no attendants to tell them that phones are a no-no in the locker room and spa. The club's hours were so truncated Thanksgiving weekend that it was impossible to get to the gym for a workout. This was unlike every other gym in the city that had holiday hours on Thanksgiving and normal ones the rest of the weekend. When I arrived, the locker room was filthy, there were no towels, dirty/wet towels were everywhere including the steam room, sauna, benches in locker room. The lifeguard (is he even a certified lifeguard?) was unaware that since the club closed at 4, the pool would be closed a half hour earlier and offered me a lane reservation at 3:30 (when the pool would be closed). I gave up and went home since without towels, I couldn't even take a shower. If this were a one-time issue, I'd be upset, but it's ongoing. I rejoined because I had fond memories of the well-kept facility, loved the classes and instructors and was able to swim. That is a distant memory. Now there are significantly fewer classes, they aren't consistent (no more same class, same instructor 2 or 3x/week at the same time) and none in the afternoon (in ye olde days there was at least a mid-afternoon yoga class). The classes aren't very good and don't create the community that I enjoyed previously as a member. The few that are worth taking fill up within 2 minutes of opening in the app. When I told an instructor that I was just getting back in shape after an illness and asked if I needed a mat, she nastily replied "only if you need it for emotional support." Another class had truly awful sped-up muzak. When I asked about it, the instructor said she doesn't listen to it, only picks out playlists that have the right beat. A terrible experience. Wildly expensive ($350/month). Total ripoff.

BEWARE OF THIEVES IN THE LOCKER ROOM. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR SHOES OR SOCKS ON THE LOCKER FLOOR. YES I HAVE LOST THEM. Equinox E85 has been a fantastic gym experience for me. The variety of classes, especially under the stunning glass ceiling, is amazing. The cycling and yoga studios are decent, though the noise from weights being dropped upstairs during yoga can be a bit distracting. So I would prefer other quiter yoga studios. It would also be great if JuicePress made fresh smoothies on site. Despite these minor issues, I genuinely love working out here and appreciate the excellent facilities and classes offered. Equinox has truly enhanced my fitness.

The thing I like best about this gym is the yoga studio and how clean it is. The yoga studio feels private and very large. Some members get upset abt the weights dropping on the floor above us but it doesn’t bother me so much. There are a lot of stairs in this gym and the layout can be confusing but they have tons of cardio machines, weights and equipment and spacious mat area for stretching. I do get confused and get lost but it’s a beautiful space to be lost in.

I've truly enjoyed coming to this gym over the last 1.5 years. It's very clean, it has all of the right equipment including a straight pull up bar and more importantly space which allows me to work on handstands. I find staff and trainers to be very friendly, front desk always welcoming and smily, and management to be very understanding and responsive. I'm not sure where all the negative reviews came from, but speaking from my personal experience I have nothing but great things to say about this gym.

I'm really disappointed with the Equinox on E 85th St—it's by far the worst location I’ve been to. The women’s steam room never goes above 40 degrees, which is basically useless. I’ve asked management multiple times to fix it, but nothing ever gets done. It feels like no one is listening, yet I’m still paying for amenities I can’t even use. Some of the instructors do the exact same workouts every week. The whole point of taking classes is to try something different, but it feels unoriginal and lazy when they just repeat the same routines. For what they charge, you'd expect more variety and effort. And don’t get me started on the showers—they’re tiny and uncomfortable. For the price they charge, this place doesn’t live up to the hype. Definitely not worth the money. Equinox E 85th is the worst location I’ve been to.

I deeply regret ever signing a contract with Equinox. Their business practices are deceptive, and I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for over three weeks with no success. The customer service team is unhelpful and unresponsive, making the process extremely frustrating. I highly recommend avoiding this gym at all costs.

A little outdated but decent lifting equipment. Swimming pool, basketball court, sauna e group classes make it worth the price. Bring your own yoga mat and towel!

Really love this Y. We’ve been coming here for 3 years now. Our child has been in the swim program and progressed from fearful to swimming on her own. Instructor are very efficient. They have the children progressing through all the skills and constantly moving. The swimming instructors are also very patient and kind. The Open Houses are good fun and all the staff are really wonderful.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT JOIN THIS YMCA location. Ghetto! Ghetto! Ghetto! Steam room is always out of service. The pool lift is never working. Locker room #nasty homeless people hanging out in front.. The customer service is horrible. I wish I’ve chosen a different location. Corporate should make this location a homeless shelter. Ugh 😣 thank me later

I am only posting on the fitness area. I love the facility and the vibe. Weightroom is a bit cramped but people make it work. It’s in an awesome, historic part of Harlem.

Great stay with friendly staff. The rooms are small, but the bunk beds were neat and the room was clean. There are shared bathrooms, but those are clean as well. The key cards, however, worked whenever they wanted to, so that may be something that can be addressed. Otherwise great stay!
