My kids love the youth classes that they offer such as BJJ and kickboxing. I also enjoy the gym as their guests so we can all get a good workout at the same time. I guess you can say that we get fit as a family. Also the staff is just great and the customers there are also friendly. The plus side to everything is that they offer healthy drinks and food for a good snack after an amazing workout. I have already recommended them to a few friends 🤙🏽

Sat 1/25/25 - Brand new equipment, but the gym has no AC, today. No ventilation in a place that gets hot. It’s uncomfortable to work out at this gym. I don’t recommend if you need feel and smell a clean environment. Without ventilation you can, unfortunately, smell everything and everyone. Very musky.

I have been charged for personal training on and off for over two years. Management, who never took my calls and only relayed information through other employees, said I had a contract for personal training. When I saw the contract it said NOTHING about being locked in AND the signature on the contract wasn’t even mine. If I were in a so called “contract” why was the money taken out of my account randomly throughout the past two years? And was the money taken out of my account after my regular gym membership expired? We are a military family and PCSd a few months after these charges started. The only way I could stop these charges was to cancel my bank card. At the very least I would appreciate a call from management.

It's a great gym but for the membership price, it's a little too crowded. I paid for the premium to not worry about waiting up for machines. Initially, the personnel I talked to said that the gym don't get too crowded. It really doesn't but the thing is, there's so many coaches and the appointments take up space for regular g goers that's just trying to finish our workout routine for the day. I guess, I hope there's some regulations for coaching and such. It's nice to see people trying to get to the gum and start like a fitness cycle of some sort but too much is a little over crowding for regular gym goers like myself.

If you have multiple kids, especially with one under 5 years old, their gym plans aren’t family-friendly if you want a membership. They don’t offer family discounts, and they try to lure you in with discounted plans that don’t work if both parents are working. Only the parent with the membership can drop off and pick up the child at the kids club, and if the other parent tries, they’ll insist that they sign up too. It feels like they’re pressuring parents into memberships when all you really need is the kids club (childcare). I bought a 2-year plan, but it became almost useless because the childcare is only for 2 hours. I signed my older kids up for 2-3 classes, which last 2-3 hours total. But what about me, who’s paying for the membership? I can’t even use it because the youth and adult classes don’t overlap. Youth classes are at 5 and 6 PM, but the adult classes I want to take are at 9 AM or 4 PM. The total time at the gym is around 3-4 hours, but the kids club is only available for 2 hours. I’m paying two paychecks for all of this and can’t even use it properly! On top of that, my husband's work finishes at 5 PM, and I have to go to work at that hour, so we only see each other for 15 minutes a day, five days a week! If you sign up, make sure you speak to someone who understands what it’s like to have kids, not someone single who won’t sympathize with your needs. They only care about sales! We told the person that our priority was our youngest child, but they didn’t understand or care. Now, we’re stuck with a membership I paid for but can’t fully use!

As a Waipahu resident, the Leeward YMCA is near my home. I'm a member the first day the Leeward Y opened. It has a relaxing atmosphere. Friendly staff. Free parking. Closed on Sunday. Download app to get information and scan to check in.

The Leeward YMCA Aquatics instructors are terrific, especially Landon. Haley is responsive and Jeanie has a firm and supportive style that pushes the kids to reach new milestones. My kids have advanced several levels in just 5 months of group swim lessons (Guppies, Minnows, and Fish). We are considering private instruction or swim club once they finish Flying Fish. We feel lucky to have found this program after finding out we were #400 something on Leahi Swim School’s waitlist.

This gym has been an incredible experience and came highly recommended by a client. The equipment is top-notch on every level, and the restrooms are always clean. I expected it to feel hot inside because of the design, but it’s surprisingly cool (hi tradewinds) There’s plenty of parking and the VIP entrance for easy access is a great touch. I appreciate the shop they have on-site for grabbing water and protein drinks at the last minute. They also offer some great gear – I bought a shirt a while ago, and the quality has held up really well. The owners are award-winning bodybuilding professionals and you can tell they’ve put a lot of thought and care into cultivating a gym environment that works for everyone. While the customer service could be improved a bit, the overall quality and experience more than make up for it. The community is supportive, and they sometimes promote events that keep things fun and engaging. This is easily one of my favorite gyms on island, and I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-equipped space to focus on their fitness journey 💪🏾

I liked the gym a lot when I was actively going there. The staff is nice and the equipment is good. However when I moved off island and tried to cancel my membership, they agreed both in person and over the phone to cancel it. I specifically spoke with Rose. They then let my account, which should have been canceled, continue to accrue charges and have since sent my information to a debt collector. I would advise you to be very careful and specific when dealing with cancelations.

Very clean, hardcore gym. After bodybuilding for years I always make it a point of any travel I do to hit the most awesome gym in the area. This did not disappoint! Amazing equipment, especially for legs, and had some pieces I've never seen anywhere else. Dumbbells go up to 150, all the equipment is well maintained, staff is super friendly and kind. This is definitely an awesome place to check out!

Great gym with amazing employees. Special shout out to Sean A. He reached out to me regarding some lost gear and I just appreciate the effort he went through to do so. As a former gym employee myself, I can say others most likely would’ve just tossed it in the lost and found bin. Thank you Sean🤙🏽

My experience with GYFitness is nothing short of amazing. The owner and his wife (Greg and Rose Yoshida) are amazing, caring and honest people who love bodybuilding and Hawai'i. The gym has the best vibe on the island ( i have been to several gyms). Tons of pros train and visit here. The coaching is amazing. I had Greg coach me for about a year, and if you follow the program, you will have great success. Mornings are the best time to train. It is extra busy in the afternoon, which is expected. Ohh, all the staff are very friendly and excited to come to work. The supplements are great and competitively priced. I will be back as often as I can. 5 STARS ARE NOT ENOUGH!
