They renovated the gym but not much has changed besides new wallpaper. Much of the equipment is gone and won’t be replaced until sometime in March. This date also keeps changing. There is not enough equipment for the amount of people that visits this location.

I like this gym. It is somewhat small but looks to have been recently renovated. It is underground so reception is poor but perhaps that helps with focus. The machines are newer than local Planet Fitness locations. The employees are nice. I would recommend it to anyone local.

The gym was closed due to renovations, but I'm not sure what they did besides move things around. More and more equipment is out of order. They took away treadmills, and every other one is broken. I honestly do not recommend this location.

This is the worst gym ever I was at the white oak location, going down the steps the assistant manager stopped me and said that I should not let my stuffs in the locker for next time, that I should bring my stuffs the same day.I told him yes no problem but I told him starting from I want my account close that I'm going to get my stuff from my locker and It will be my last day. When I went down to get my stuffs from locker they already broke my locker and put all my stuff in plastic bag with one missing item .When I ask them where my stuffs they said they didn't see it and called the police on me I waited for the police and told them I'm not leaving until they told me where my stuffs that s when the staffs brought my stuffs .I will sure press charge them for touching my stuffs with telling me cause they have my phone number and also breaking my lock 🔒 that I bought. In stead of controlling their rude employees they try to control their costumers. This started since Silver spring location. They will talk to you like trash and expect you not to fight back no way with me

This gym was recently renovated and I’m so happy I didnt cancel my membership. It’s a small gym but I appreciate the workers who are constantly cleaning and helping to maintain the gym clean.

I’ve been going to this gym for almost a year at this point, one word to describe this gym is great atmosphere. The staff & gym members are never standoffish. You bring an issue up to them and they handle it that second. Secondly, the gym equipment is the most I’ve seen in certain gyms. They have specific equipment FOR Athletes, which is rare to find. The culture of the gym from all age groups are great. I love coming here and it’s never too packed to get some reps in of anything you want. Truly a great gym environment for communities that are close

Firstly, good job on having multiple squat racks and deadlifts platforms. That alone gave a 5 star rating. These things are like gold nowadays to find more than one set in a gym. Traditional weight lifting gym. Not many of these around. The equipments are dated, but they in good condition. The place is kept clean and you will feel comfortable working out here. There’s cardio area, warmup and cooling down areas. There’s parking and pretty much everything you will need to stay fit. Staff is polite and which is rare these days. Overall, good job 👏 .

Please keep in mind that I am sharing my experience. I think other members there really did not have a similar experience like mine and it seemed they really enjoyed the gym. I was a member from '23 to '24. I enjoyed this place a lot at first and in all honesty, it felt much better than its predecessor "Fitness Evolution". This gym even had a Women's Corner which I thought was perfect as it gave myself and other women space versus the main weight room. The owner was incredibly friendly and she gave me a great tour when I first signed up. However, my experience quickly deteriorated after my 2nd or 3rd visit. As usual, I scanned my member fob when I entered and proceeded working out. All of a sudden, one of the young guys at the front came at me in the middle of a workout and summoned me to the counter. I asked "why?". Apparently he did not see me walk in (which is not my fault, not sure why he wasn't at the counter) and he thought I was someone who was not a member at the gym trying to work out for free. I told him I can give him my name and he can check himself, but he did not want to do that and made me retrieve my fob from the locker. I had my workout disrupted, and even felt a bit targeted as to why I was the only one he worried about. Once he confirmed, I no longer wanted to work out, time was wasted, and was a bit upset at such a harsh accusation, especially since he could have just gotten my name to confirm. If this is an issue, then have someone present at the counter at all times. It is hard to believe that every person who isn't seen scanning in suddenly gets targeted and forced to show proof of membership. I spoke with the owner and she did apologize for the incident, explaining that the employee was new and did not know the policies. I appreciated that, but it still left a bad taste in my mouth which left me no longer wanting to return to the gym. Unfortunately, due to my contract, I was stuck for a year. Fast forward to terminating my contract which had to be done in person, I went back to the gym to finalize this. I spoke with the owner several times to ensure the date of termination without being charged another month/renewing my contract. Upon arriving, another young gentleman helped me with this and attempted to charge me for another month. I explained that this cannot be the case since I was told by the owner herself as long as I came before a certain date, I would not be charged. He refused to listen to me and didn't even want to look into the situation, only telling me "nope, it looks like you will need to be charged". I asked to speak with the owner. He said that I can't talk to her because she "was working out". I was extremely upset at this response, but luckily she had completed her workout right as this conversation was happening and cleared everything up. The young man was not apologetic, and appeared to have cared less about the customer service he just gave. I was very glad for the owner's help and luckily, I was able to terminate my contract without any extra fees. But if she had not arrived at that time, this wouldn't have been the case at all. Unfortunately, I am giving this place a low rating - not because of the gym itself as it really seemed great and the owner was also incredible - but because of the customer service I received on the handful of occasions I went there. Customer service goes a long way and due to the treatment, I will not be going back. Please hire people with more customer service experience.

Don’t waste your time with this gym. They don’t care about their customers. Something is always broken. The women’s locker room NEVER has soap. No soap for weeks. Germs and bacteria all over the equipment. Just disgusting and sad. They removed napkins from the women’s locker room and there are roaches working out with you. ROACHES ON THE EQUIPMENT. I always bring my concerns to management and they do nothing about it. I’ve been going here since it’s been Golds gym. Everything has changed in a negative way.

This gym is great! I used it while visiting MD and I would definitely recommend it. It’s big but also gives you a small gym feeling which is what I was looking for. Has a private “women’s” workout room with its own restroom which is a great touch for those that enjoy privacy. The staff is also very friendly.

I love it here. The fitness facility, pool, whirlpool, sauna and locker rooms are great amenities. Good group fitness classes. Very family-friendly. Private swim lessons. Lots of senior citizens so the atmosphere is mellow. I appreciate the childcare offerings. Highly recommend for families, even those who don't play tennis!

Every time I utilize the pool for exercise and mental relaxation, I leave a little unwanted and/or unneeded weight behind. The benefits using the pool at The Aspen Hill Club are countless. All of my personal physicians are pleased that I found a comfortable warm pool that allows me to exercise without placing unneeded stress on my joints.

The tennis programs are top notch. The clay courts are the best maintained at any club I’ve been to and the tennis directors work hard to engage the members and make connections so you can find players at similar skill levels. My kids love the summer camp and tennis programs the rest of the season, as well as the indoor pool and childminding center. I’d be a member here just for tennis, but the pool, fitness center and kids programming make the club super well rounded and an obvious choice for the whole family.

Both of my children have trained at Aspen Hill for a while now. My little one has done some tennis group classes, and my older one is taking private lessons from Coach Elliott. Both group classes and private lessons are fantastic. Coach Elliott is an excellent coach and teacher, and has helped my child improve his game a great deal. In addition, the facility is nice, clean and the front desk is very friendly. I would highly recommend Aspen Hill for your children's tennis training and tennis summer camps.

I've trained at a lot of tennis facilities, but Aspen Hill is definitely tops in my book! The indoor hard courts are fantastic, and the clay courts in the bubble across the street are great, too. The staff are always so helpful with booking an open court. Additionally, the tennis program itself is really great, challenging, and lots of fun. Can't say enough about the Director of Tennis at Aspen Hill, Elliot! He's really invested in everyone's tennis career, and truly wants each person to get better. Thanks Elliot and Aspen Hill!

Let's go directly to the bad. What is bad about this gym? that doesn't have a free movement bench press as the same for the Squat rack. It only has a machine bench press and Squat, so if you are use to working more with free motion, this is a problem, BUT you can steal do the workout just fine. The other thing that i see for the gym to improve is that they can install a paper towel machine. Other than the previous sad everythingis great! Last but not least, i want to appreciate the small tour that Nate and his tema gave me. They were very friendly and nice, good work.

I like planet fitness ,it a great gym and I have been with them for a while but the assistant manager in Silver Spring Bryceida Rivera is super arrogant and used her manager title to mistreat me. Today I was at the locker getting ready to go to bathroom, she interrupted me and said "He do you know that white oak is reopened and the person at the front desk told me to tell you not with us so Imma have to ask you to leave."I told her without disrespecting her or yelling that leaving ór retransfer is not an issue because I did transfer when I went to white oak but maybe by mistake it didn't go through.and I told her my only problem is "you should tell me this information at the front desk which is more professional instead you telling me this in locker room and people could hear in bathroom. Than Mrs Rivera quickly went front desk called manager ,I followed and asked the guys at front desk"who asked Mrs Rivera to wait for me at locker to talk about personal business "they all responded we don't have nothing to do with it because she is the manager. I said so because she the managér I can't ask my concern and Mrs Rivera asked me to leave .I called the white oak location and lady on the phone was my witness because I put on speaker ,Mrs Rivera clearly said I asked you to leave because I didn't have a word to say she the manager that I'm not assigned to the location and she doesn't want to hear me the back and forth as if she my mom I can't talk or ask questions about my account .I asked the representative on the phone to stay on the phone so I get my stuff in locker and peacefully so she witness I didn't scream curse or dó nothing wrong but I was poorly unfairly kicked out by Mrs Rivera because she didn't wanted to hear me say a word.Sad

The bathrooms here can get very dirty! And their urinals are always out of order and constantly need repair or have water leaks! What a disgrace! Disgusting. Please do better with taking care of your bathrooms. 🤦‍♂️🤮

have been attacked by other members at this location on more than one occasion due to not being black and these members are racist against people for having a different skin color than their own. This morning (jan 17th) this racist black guy in a white shirt (gang apparel) actually flipped me off WHILE i was on the pec-dec working out around 6am this morning (he was insulted and offended because he saw that there was a white person in the gym)... fyi, I am not white or "italian", I am Mexican-American. corporate and staff can't do anything to ban these members thanks to their woke policies that don't seem to care that this is the normal form of racism in downtown silver spring (which is a known fact by locals) when the rest of the nation has the opposite problem. I don't suggest going to this gym (or living in downtown silver spring) unless you are of the approved black majority race... and everyone who is white or third race(non-black, non-white) is basically out of luck because these are exactly who the racists in this region are targeting. I have not once gotten an email of apology from planet fitness for not living up to their standards of a "no judgement zone". I have cancelled my membership due to multiple assaults inside the gym from members attacking me because of my skin color and these racists have not been banned thanks to planet wokeness' policies.

Take a look at the photos I have attached. As a brand new member paying $25 every 30 days + $50 fees, this is unacceptable to maintain a gym under these filthy conditions. This gym location violates several health codes and could be shut down permanently with one phone call. One phone call that will happen within 14 days if they do not get their act together. CLEAN UP THE MEN’S LOCKER ROOM!! And no, I’m not going to hunt down the general manager and tell them to do their job. They should know better! Next step: a city health inspector phone call. Final step: corporate executive offices

Excellent gym with a friendly staff and easy to follow format. I love being able to double check the screen to see how to do each move on the floor. Shout out to the coaches and front staff (Jazmin and Roxanne!) who always make me feel welcome.

I have been a member of OTFSS for well over a year now, and it has been an amazing experience. The coaches are motivating, kind, and helpful. The classes are challenging and fun. The members are delightful. Keisha and Kenny are a couple of the many staff members that go out of their way to make the experience enjoyable, they know almost EVERY member by name and always have a smile on their face! I no longer do any other workout besides OTF. 10/10 experience, I will remain a member for many years to come!

I love OTF and my experience at this location has been fairly good. I do however miss high fives/fist bumps on the way in and having the coaches know you so well that they push you and call you out and challenge you more. Many studios I have been a member at or even have visited have coaches who are on it ALL class. They don't stop moving, they come over and show you the movement and help you perfect it if you aren't doing it properly (yes, there a couple of coaches at this location that do that and I love them for this! Especially head coach, Julia, who seems to genuinely take interest in the members and tries to connect with them - she remembered I was doing a long bike ride and would check in with me about it. It felt great to know that she was interested and cared enough to remember.) and they shout encouragements as they count down those all outs. This location has a couple outstanding coaches who I really like while some other coaches seem to just be there and are not as interactive with the members.... I know I'm outside of DC and the vibe is beyond different than my first studio in the Midwest and maybe that set an expectation for me that some other studios don't have... I will say management has been beyond pleasant and helpful when there was an issue of being charged a late cancellation when I did cancel well before the cut off and they were also extremely helpful when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had to pause my membership due to surgery (even though I do think the pause policy is a little convoluted for medical things but the is NOT this studios fault as it is a OTF corporate pause policy so I am not blaming that on this specific studio)- they even send a text checking in on me which did mean a lot! The individuals who sign you in and help you get your station picked have also been great lately --- I will admit when I first started it was a bit cold (I guess the DC vibe...) but the crew they have now is amazing at greeting me by name and even knowing my preferred starting place and number, especially Layla who always has a smile on her face and just makes you feel great, even at 6am! I get in about 3 to 5 days a week and I look forward to my time there. The workouts are great and challenging and are helping meet some personal goals. They also offer challenges throughout the year that are optional (cost extra) to participate in. They are a fun way to encourage you to be consistent and set a goal for yourself. I highly recommend giving it a try if you are thinking about it!

OTF was my first experience with group fitness and I loved it! From the moment I walked into the studio in SS, I felt welcomed and supported. The coaches/staff are not only knowledgeable but also so friendly and encouraging, helping me feel confident throughout the entire workout from my first workout until now. I came in looking for a quick workout and ended up finding family.

I love this warm and welcoming space. I always feel encouraged and supported by the staff and coaches. Jazmin has gone out of her way to get to know me and to offer thoughtful words and gestures. I don’t get to see Keisha quite as often due to scheduling, but she has also gone above and beyond in making me feel comfortable and welcome. I appreciate the coaches I’ve had (in no particular order): Roxanne, Jamel, Julia, Jon, Elizabeth, and Anthony. If I’ve omitted any coach, it’s because I’ve only taken one class with them, and it takes me a while to remember names. I would highly recommend OTF Silver Spring—especially to anyone who’s new to trying OTF and/or who appreciates a workout environment that privileges individual development over competition. Trust that you can show up exactly as you are and wherever you might be fitness-wise, and you’ll feel affirmed, encouraged, and empowered. Thank you, OTF Silver Spring!
