My son has basketball ball and karate on Saturday. This is not a hotel setting. They have lots of activities for all ages. It's across the street from Flushing High School.

This review is specific to Summer Swim camp. Two summers ago my daughter attended Kinder Camp at YMCA; she loved it. The counselors and directors of that camp were wonderful. So I decided, to send her to swim camp to hone her swimming skills. Unfortunately , I was sorely disappointed. Her swimming abilities have not been accessed and she was placed has a red cap. She was told that she was a good swimmer and when I questioned the camp counselor; I received no response. That is the most concerning issue, you can email or call and you won't get a response. That coupled false advertising earns this camp a one star rating. Also, if you imagine that your child will be playing outside in summer then think again! There is no schedule outdoor time except on special occasions which means field trip to the parking lot. Essentially you are almost paying 4K for indoor arts and crafts! As my daughter says, I really want school to start so we have recess!!!

Swimmers don’t go here, they have that YMCA flyers meet every single Sunday for at least 4 weeks. Posting only a day before which is not acceptable. Even if you ask them will that be the last week for the meet where large pool is going to be closed they will say yes and still happening next weekend.

My husband and I joined the YMCA about 2 weeks ago. We joined with the borough wide package. We really enjoy the steam room and working out! However, this particular faculty is not at all welcoming to other races. Though the majority in the area is Asians, I thought it would be ok to come! When you walk in it’s very cold, un welcoming and I automatically feel watched. A life guard by the name of Janelle made me very uncomfortable. I felt like crying when she approached me very mean, I have braids and all my braids didn’t fit in the pool cap, she said that I wasn’t allowed in the big pool and that it was for laps swim only , it was very cold, I felt like crying as she scolded me that I was being recorded as if I did something wrong. It was only my second day I didn’t know! Honestly embarrassing , my hair is different, she even called me names on her radio when Telling the other guards to beware of me! Wow wow wow! If your of any other race besides Asian you will feel they don’t want you there! It’s sucks because I really love meeting new ppl and don’t mind being around other races! I’ll be back for the steam room. But it’s really scary! As a woman of color going for a simple 1hr work out might just not be the go to spot! If you want to feel watched and unwelcomed this is the place to be!

I love the pool. I go a few times a month with my toddler and she loves the pool. It’s clean the lifeguards are really nice. The staff is helping and there’s always someone cleaning the locker rooms.
