Pros: Fairly clean facility, got plenty of different equipments to exercise each muscle, they perform regular maintenance of machines, they have 4 sets of each dumbbells, lap pool is available, sanitizing wipes are present at multiple places, easy QR code scan entry using their app, lockers available, large enough space that it doesn't seem crowded. Cons: Pool is not cleaned as frequently as it should, I have seen bandage, hair, and some debris on the pool floor quite often. The shower area near the pool definitely needs cleaning. The showers inside have only a nozzle and really needs to have a shower head, bathrooms could use some cleaning / upgrades, one more seated cable row machine would help. Some other thoughts: At times, there is a sign on machine saying its under maintenance. Its good but sometimes that sign stays on for days and weeks before its serviced and is usable again. Any gym really is as good as the people who go there. If people are sensible and have basic courtesy they will wipe machines down after use and keep the weights back in the correct rack space. So far I have found that mostly people do it but there are always exceptions. Overall, I think for a common person, this gym offers everything that is needed. It could do with a few improvements but I would recommend this gym. I like going here.

Useless staff. Why do they partner with my fitness if they are not going to honor the memeber , also the GM that is theONLY one able to approve this membership is NEVER THERE. Everytime I go the front desk says “ he stepped out “ every single time. How about he steps into his role and does his job?

I have been going to this location for past few months. Lately it’s getting really busy and have to wait for lot of the equipments as they are constantly being used. Also, multiple machines out of service for several days before they are fixed. It’s a nice clean GYM.

The staff are all very professional and kind. The club is well maintained. The pool area is clean and kept up. The locker rooms are spacious and kept clean, plenty of lockers available and they are large enough to put several items inside. There is more than enough cardio and strength-training equipment for all levels of guests. And the basketball court is kept clean as well. The only drawback I could see is that there's only 1 court available for a 5 on 5 game as opposed to there being other hoops available for side play

The Yoga Teacher Alice at the Cherry Ave Gym, San Jose is awesome. Her quality of instruction is better than some of the yoga studios than some of the studios that only teach yoga. She's my sole reason for sticking with City Sports. Awesome Yoga program!!

The gym is always clean and machines are well kept! The locker room is nice and always clean! It has showers, steam, sauna and jacuzzi! Staff is super friendly and helpful! If you’re looking for a personal trainer Erin C. is your person! She is so well educated on the body and all of its muscles! She has said names of muscles I’ve never heard of and I was premed! She knows just how far to push you to help you reach your potential! Love working out with her! Thanks, Forma!

The entire organization do their level best to provide an excellent spa experience to all it’s members. I actually use the outdoor pool & the maintenance staff is excellent. The facilities are not state of the art, But either am I, and neither are the monthly due’s. Faro, the manager has got an excellent staff & he does an excellent job of expanding & updating as best he can. I have been a member there for 15 plus years off & on. Best club for the money 💰 in the South bay thanks to the staff at Forma. Great value & a fantastic staff. You can absolutely get a state of the art gym experience for twice what your paying at Forma & you still not have the excellent staff or management.

I would like to take a moment to highlight the exceptional service provided by one of your employees, Dylan. He is, without question, one of the most welcoming, kind-hearted, and professional individuals I’ve ever encountered at any gym. From the moment you walk in, Dylan‘s warm demeanor and genuine enthusiasm set the tone for a positive experience. Dylan has an incredible ability to connect with people. Whether assisting with equipment, answering questions, or sparking a friendly conversation, he consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that every member feels valued and comfortable. His patience, attentiveness, and uplifting attitude make him a true asset to the team and a standout in customer service. I also always see him walk onto the gym floor to clean up weights left out by other gym members. This helps facilitate a clean and organized gym appearance and it goes a long way. Additionally, I want to take this opportunity to commend the gym as a whole. The facility is always clean, organized, and well-maintained, which speaks volumes about the care and professionalism of your team. The atmosphere is welcoming, and there is a strong sense of community that keeps members coming back. Dylan, in particular, embodies these values and plays a significant role in fostering this environment. Thank you for creating such a wonderful space for fitness and connection, and for having exceptional employees like Dylan who make every visit a pleasure.

Could be better. Good stuff first, feels clean and has a lot of equipment. Now the other stuff the water fountains will have filters that won’t be replaced for like a week after being all used up which sucks, I get super thirsty and my workout is burdened by my reduced stamina from no water. A few pieces of equipment outside are just broken? They have been this way for like 5 months now. Overall pretty good gym and they offer classes.

I love this gym. I joined it at the beginning of summer so I could enjoy their outdoor pool. It's lovely outside, the pool is clean, and the other swimmers are so friendly and welcoming. The staff has been friendly as well. The only aspect I would change is much of the staff seem to be on their phones, when they could be actively supporting customers. When I walk by the front desk, the two people usually have their heads down, distracted and on their phones. I'm giving 4 stars, otherwise it would have been 5.

Heated classes are too crowded, noisy and unfriendly. It smells like fish in sauna. Hot tub has mold. Although the club has good amenities, the users are all vietnamese passing nasty comments in their native language. There are terrible and harmful lotions being used in sauna, caused me terrible allergy. Do not recommend this place if you would like peace of mind.

This gym has been going down the hill after covid, bad management, bad services.. dirty and non hygienic facility… Most of the staff especially the sales people are so rude!! They should fire Chris, Jasmine Nguyen. Very unprofessional attitude when dealing with members..

I signed up last Thursday, showed up today for a Mobility class three minutes late (they claim to have an app for Android, it doesn't work, i have to call them or book at the front desk?). Yes, I was late, keep in mind there is no late policy posted and if it were in the app, I couldn't access it. The desk person checks me in, we head upstairs and as we enter the class the instructor Megan, doesn't open her mouth to tell us about her late policy or turn us away politely, instead she shook her head "no" and shoo'd us away like vermin. An employee told me I need to speak to Megan about it, he is the Director of Instruction, she was the one shooing me.I walked back to the Member Services desk and cancelled all 3 of my families memberships. If this is how leadership operates, there is bound to be a trickle down effect. Lack of professionalism and he general distain she showed is what did it. I'll never spend another dollar with ClubSport. P.S. This all occurred prior to ever touching a weight in this gym, sad.

Awesome gym! Very new and clean! Offers tons of classes everyday from weight classes to stretching classes to kickboxing. They also offer a swimming pool, smoothie&snack bar, sitting area to watch tv and chill, big and clean locker rooms offering lockers that don’t require you to bring your own lock, saunas, steamrooms, plenty of towels, massages, and more. Lots of nice equipment too. You definitely pay the price for all of these things but it’s been worth it for me.

Great place to swim indoors (heated) with my kid all year round. Price is reasonable for this nice facility with clean family locker room & shower, even better when you come as often as you like for various activities & equipment. Too bad I only have time to come with my kid for family swimming hours. They provide towels but we bring our own hair dryer because the one in the family locker room is underpowered. We appreciate this place as one of the perks of living nearby.

SJSU’s pool might be one of the best well kept secrets (speaking as someone who is not connected to SJSU in anyway). The facilities are so new that if you look at Google Map’s standard top down view, the building shape is that of the building it had replaced. The hours for drop in are flexible ($5 day pass per person), kids friendly, has olympic sized 50 meter pool, and the showers / lockers are clean. There is a parking garage next door ($1 every 30 minutes).

In A Nutshell: -The brand-new $130 million Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Center is awesome! -The community waited for about 2 years for this place to open & it finally did right before summer 2019. -There are 3 swimming pools, which includes a 15 lane lap pool, plus diving board, a kiddie/lounge pool area & a pool w/ 4 lane lap pool plus open water swim area. -You don't feel cramped & there's a lot of room w/ plenty of outdoor sunshine. -The locker room has lockers, but I think they are reserved for the students, so just use the locker room to change & use the bathroom. -I like the expensive $10 day pass or $60 monthly (plus you need to commit to a year) which weeds out people so it doesn't get crowded. Overall, this will be my new go-to place to swim countless laps, while getting a nice tan since it's all outdoor!

Gloria at the front desk deserves your next department MVP award! She made my day this morning with her professionalism and dedication to making all Spartans welcome! Even the old ones that spill their entire Peet’s on their way through the hand scanner (:

Don't go here after 11th of August! So we wanted to go to the pool for recreational use as we were here as tourists during the summer. The girl at the entrance told us we couldn't get in as the summer entrance ended on the 11th of August (we were here on the 15th of August). Tried to talk to her but no, only way we can get in is if we know someone at the university. Then the entrance fee is 15$

Amazing place for students of SJSU. They have swimming pool, basket ball, badminton , gym and a lot more activities which are very well managed by the student union. I go almost every day there and have faced no issues till date. To be honest I never thought this facility would be so good. Go spartans !!
