The gym is busy, that's undeniable. The rock wall is only open during the week, no weekends, from 4-10. But the workers are nice. The pool has pretty restricted hours also, because Drexel S&D practices there. My partner and I try to workout outside if peak hours, but even at 7pm we can usually get a squat rack and do our lifts.

Very small pool. Only 6 lanes - roughly 4 feet wide and 25 feet long. It was impossible to do any kind of physical therapy workouts as the pool was packed with minimum 3 people per lane. The facility supervisor was unwilling to understand my situation when I requested a refund for the 3 month subscription I had bought. They suggested doing said physical therapy workouts "by the pool side"?? even though said workouts are done in water. Bringing up covid concerns, they advised me to wear a mask even though my concerns were about the fact that the pool was packed with minimum 3 people per lane. I bought this subscription for the sake of the pool, not because I wanted to stand by one when I do workouts. Waste of money. Horrible experience.

It is a good recreation center with most of the equipments newly installed. The facility is clean and has great Vibe. The front desk and floor staffs are really good too. There need to be more lockers. And sometime I felt there should be a clear instructions to not occupy an equipment forever while scrolling through mobile phones. Lol.

This a really great place to work out, have a good time playing games, swimming, sitting in the corridor. It has a really good lighting suitable for any kind of work. This is the Drexel's corridor and outdoor view from here. You have Wawa, 7 Eleven, Starbucks and many other options nearby to eat.

Bad customer service and bad communication. It made me fell they are the rule makers and you can only obey and follow. Don’t expect too much given the cheap price. Fair enough

I was having rotator cuff pain in my right shoulder, after searching for a PT facility I came across FitLife, and so thankful I did. From the first visit to the last I feel so much better Zach and staff was very personable and their expertise is impeccable! Rosita

My treatment and experience here has been less than favorable. I arrived at 7:02 to be exact, as I was walking towards the therapy room, Rachel saw me but never acknowledged me which is all too common for her. I always assumed that it was early and maybe she didn’t have her coffee but to my surprise that was not the case. This was my 5th visit to the facility and my last. Let me explain in detail what happened. As I approached the desk area where Matt sits, I said good morning. Rachel comes from the desk area and asks how I was feeling. I stated getting better but not 100%. She then asked if I wanted to ride the upright bike, I replied sure, she never escorted me to the bike but later came to check the time. In the meantime a lady who she seemed to know came in who also has an appointment but not sure of the time however, I heard Rachel say that she was early. She began to laugh and joke with this woman which was shocking to me because I never seen her smile. . As I am still riding the bike, Rachel proceeds to attend to the Lady who is “White” then I see Matt come from behind the desk to get a ball and a yellow band and place it at my table. When that happened I started feeling a little uneasy, thinking is she asking Matt to assist me in my therapy as she worked with the lady who came to her appointment early. I got off the bike and Matt approaches me and tells me that he is going to work with me. At that point I was confused , not that Matt would be working with me but the audacity to disregard my appointment time. I told Matt that I was leaving because I did not like the fact that Rachel did not communicate to me that Matt would be working with me for a period of time. Additionally, I have not been pleased with Rachel’s professional skills. As I was leaving the facility, Rachel follows me to ask if there is a problem.. I said I am good and left the facility. When I returned home I called and spoke with Erin (gym manager) who seemed to care and listened to my concerns respectively. She offered to give me 2 free sessions at no cost. She also stated that she would have Megan (PT Supervisor) to give me a call. Later that day I spoke with Megan who apologized for what happened to me during my treatment. She mentions the 2 free sessions they were willing to offer me. I told her that I would let her know the next day if I wanted to take the offer. The next day I called, Matt answers the call and I specifically ask to have Megan call me back. Matt then asked if I wanted to speak with Rachel ( PT who I have been working with the past 4 weeks) I stated to Matt I had no desire to speak with her. An hour later I received a call from Rachel who then pretends she had not spoken to Megan or Erin which I found puzzling. I told her she should speak with them but she pressed me into telling her the issue from yesterday I explained to her what I was felling and how she never communicated what was happening at the time. How would she know there was an issue if she never spoke to me or her colleagues. All she knew is that I left the facility. Megan called me later and stated she never got a chance to speak with Rachel about what happened yesterday. I am flabbergasted at this point. The disrespect, gaslighting and condescending tone was insulting to me. I am sure this isn’t the first time something of this magnitude has happened. Hire more people who has the ability to be professional. compassionate and caring about those who are pain and don’t look like them. And I don’t need free sessions because I have insurance and I am not a charity case.

I would like to commend the staff at Fitlife since their organization, communication and treatment were all excellent. My first therapist (Cheryl) was absolutely Fabulous and when I needed follow up visits, Sammy did a very good job of treatment and instruction for continuing exercises at home. Virtually everyone was professional but it appears they may need some more staff going forward as there seemed to be a shortage of therapists on my last visit. Thank you!

The PT Team is Amazing!!! Everyone is very kind, friendly, and professional! They extended themselves to me and made sure I was cared for and my needs were met. My physical therapy was specifically and personally designed for me. Together, the team and I achieved my optimal goal!! Dr. Megan and Dr. Mike, you both are awesome and make a wonderful team!!! I appreciate everyone at FitLife including a special thanks to Tricia, Tyra, and Matt who also helped getting me back to good health! All of you are wonderful!!! Thank you! Thank You!! THANK YOU!!! 🤗

I worked with Rachel at Fitlife and she was excellent. She continually tailored our sessions to respond to ongoing issues with my knee, and I made great progress while working with her. She was also lovely to work with--warm, conscientious, intelligent and encouraging. The rest of the staff was also very friendly, helpful and professional. I highly recommend FitLife Physical Therapy.

Everything is great but one big thing they closed the lounge room you can't sit and relax before or after a workout you need to sit in the locker room it's really a bummer there's no where to chill anymore. 😞 But overall great service outstanding employees, clean great amenities nice gym

I love this branch of the Y. The pool is one of the best I’ve visited - really well maintained with friendly guards (and a sauna!!) The studios are clean and bright with enough space for everyone. Erika’s yoga classes and Alicia’s Zumba classes are my absolute favorites - all of the instructors I have met are extremely kind, patient, creative, and encouraging. The support and love from other members is really special and keeps me coming back (even at 7am before work!). Thanks for providing this service and space for us.

Unfortunately this place has declined a lot. There use to be nice staff there but now most of the staff is rude, mean, and unhelpful. The front desk is absolutely dreadful, children run freely, young people smoke in the front of the building and Kidzone is ran by a bunch of staff who are glued to their phones and don’t want to interact with the children. Don’t trust these people with your kids…they don’t even want to pick up a baby!

Ive been coming here for almost 3 mos now. Everything has been pretty good so far. The staff is friendly and so are the members. In fact ive already made a few acquaintances with some of the regs that come at my usual "time slot"...

Just in Philly for the weekend and found this Y for a sauna and cold shower—what a nice facility and friendly staff. Plenty of parking in front. I didn’t work out or swim but the changing rooms were very nice and the sauna was hot. I love that I can use my YMCA membership wherever I am!

Horrible place! They don’t care about your kids! No one is ever paying attention so no one ever has any answers for you. The very first day of camp, I picked my daughter up at 4pm only to greet her barefoot. I was told she was walking around with no shoes on since “they went to the pool”. I asked “well what time did they go to the pool?” Their answer “12pm” so basically my child was walking around a building barefoot for 3 hours. My last straw was when I picked my daughter up and she had a ton of dirt in her hair. No one told me or knew anything. When I asked what happened they claimed a staff member questioned my child about the dirt in her hair. LIES! More importantly, why wasn’t I informed when I came to pick her up?! DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE! THEY ARE OBLIVIOUS, NEGLIGENT AND DONT CARE ABOUT THE CHILDREN! Everyone here just wants to do their 8 hours and collect their check. After conversing with other parents I was told their son’s arm was broken while attending this facility as well as her other child needing emergency surgery because “she ran into a tree” (that’s what they reported to the parent) and her entire mouth was split open and the top row of her teeth, loose. From “running into a tree”? More importantly she was NOT notified until she arrived for pick ups as well. WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING! They need to be investigated!

Great location they have good parking, a nice size swimming pool. What I really like is the kidzone. I can go work out for an hour or 2 and know that my daughter is in good hands!

Very clean and quickly responsive for paper towel and cleaning spray refills in the weight machines room. Eclectic group of regulars from the elderly to small groups that come in with matching t's. Front desk staff makes a point to greet you on your way in and out which is a touch I appreciate ❤️ It's a friendly place

Amazing! My family and I were looking for a pool after 2 other ones: one had a membership price of $400 for a month and the other didn’t take members out of cheltenham township. But the Kroc center was phenomenal, you’re greeted with amazing people and the membership was about $100-200 a month but we got the extra fees off (extra fees which would add up to about $300 in total) because of military discount. So this was an overall phenomenal experience! But yes there is a shortage of lifeguards which cause the water slide to be closed and not in use currently.

Wish i could give no stars I was there 8/22 the front desk staff were very rude and uneducated about there job it was a waste of my time and they canceled my daughter membership I will never go back here. And they never answer the phone

I've been going to the Philly Kroc center on & off for the past 5 years. It is such a great gym for all ages. Truly a home away from home! It really feels like a family/ community gym. I love the pools, the outside walking trail, their various work out classes included with membership. Oh & adore their volunteer garden run by the extremely friendly Andy (not quite sure that's his name). He even gave me a bag of free freshly picked veggies from their garden. It's breathtaking & attracts so many beautiful birds I've never seen before. What I love most about this place is Gina (possibly short for Regina) at the check in desk. She's a tall woman with dreadlocks. She makes me feel welcomed & like family. My mother also adores her. It's bittersweet but she's the reason I decided to finally write a review after so many years. In passing she let me know that her last day is July 4th, 2024. I am so happy for her growth & her new career opportunity at another location. However, I'm also sad, I won't see her anymore. I can't explain it with words but she's so warm & genuine & not in a overbearing way. She just sees & understands everyone that walks in. I believe she really loves her job! Where ever she goes will be so lucky to have her on their team. All that to say that this gym is phenomenal. & what sets them apart from any other gym is the service! Nearly everyone is so friendly. From security to the cleaning staff & aerobic instructors. They all say hello & wish you a good day. I also love seeing the employees in classes or on the trail with members. It's so cool. I wish other gyms would adapt that kind of unity as the Salvation Army Kroc Center has mastered. Kudos to your team. The only suggestion I have is to fix or replace the 2nd treadmill on the first floor. There's only 1 down there that works & the senior citizens (my mom included) tend to wait for it rather than go up the steps where more treadmills are available. I get it i hate steps too. Keep up the great work! I will miss you dearly Gina! Avril A

There are a lot of staff here who are miserable, rude, and not afraid to show it. If you hate your job or life so much that you need to put that energy in the world, please go get some help. Place is also the worst managed 40 dollar a month community center I've ever seen. Weren't bad when they first opened a decade ago but they are getting worse with time instead of better.

DO NOT TAKE SWIM LESSONS HERE! The instructor Tom is terrible. He is cranky, crotchety, with a nasty attitude. Perhaps he was a good swim instructor in 1980, but today, not so much. Tom never got in the water to show the class any swim techniques, instead he sat in a chair outside the pool the entire time and yelled at us. Students had to teach each other techniques. It’s way past time for Tom to retire and I am not sure why he is allowed to teach paying customers.

I don’t particularly like exercising but Angela’s spin class on Tuesdays and Thursdays is my exception! She’s very kind and upbeat to everyone regardless of experience and fitness levels. She always explains everything but lets you know to go at your own pace. She mixes in local musical artists so I feel like I’m learning about Philly music as a bonus. The other regulars in the class are very nice and it’s fun to see them regularly. I should probably check out the gym and other classes but really I keep my membership for Angela’s classes.

Just when i thought this place couldnt get any better, the lap pool was a perfect 80 degrees this morning. Heavenly. A godsend.

This place is great! We usually go for swim lessons. It is more than a gym, it is more like a community center, with even a place to drop off your baby for an hour or two to exercise. (I rarely do reviews, but accidental taps while on maps gave it one star. I saw their sweet response which prompted me to fix the error immediately. They are awesome!)

Majority of children activities are all set forth and scheduled. So one need to be prepared to follow their schedule in order to part take in most children activities. This mainly includes but does not disclose GYM. For the children's physical activities which varies different age groups and schools I would assume. I always thought schools had their own GYM activities at their own location? Not sure, why they hosting entire after school programs there at the Y? Much has changed since I came up. I guess if you can meet their schedule and pay extra for some activities, you can make it work for you and your family. The experience was an enlighten one, on the down side. Children were expecting a nice swim. So disappointed they both became, no pool nor GYM for that day. Their first time interacting. They do have some out going staff there especially in the children's day care center. Takes time to get used to it and aline your schedule around theirs or pay to fit in. It's like this one pink rose my four year old Granddaughter nursed to life again. It had to adjust and fit in once it was given the proper nourishment and location. I simply thought it was time to dispense it? Move on, but my Granddaughter decided to deal with it keep going at it. After playing with it for two or three days. Moral of this story, give yourself some time. To adjust to their schedule and grow as you go alongside of other's. This way you can adjust as your family are being nurtured into different activities. Shalom.......

Fitness Works is my second home. My favorite thing about it is that this is a no-nonsense place to train, everything is well maintained and people are respectful. Nothing is overly fancy or hyped up. For the size of the space they offer an impressive variety of stuff! There are selections of dumbbells on both main floors and some in the classroom, weight machines on both main floors, plenty of cardio equipment, a very nice pool, and there is even an area for boxing training. The classroom is large with pretty decent mirrors and you can use it for stretching etc. when there isn't a session going on. This probably wouldn't be a first pick for more advanced powerlifting or Olympic lifting since the space is a bit limited with just 3 squat racks and 2 deadlift platforms. Great place for general training and bodybuilding though. You can buy snacks and drinks at the front desk too. My only critique is that I wish they were open later and that there was a second chest fly machine.

Happy overall. Been coming here for a few years. Some of the cardio equipment is way overdue for replacement. The life fitness treadmills whine and skip constantly and are way past their life cycle

Been a member since February, my only complaint is it gets HOT in there in the summer. Only two of the treadmills have fans. I do love that classes are included in membership!

This is a good gym with a nice staff. Equipment and pool are all nice. One note is the water fountains desperately need to be replaced. I wish they (like many other gyms) would not require a 30 day heads up for cancelling membership. Feels a bit predatory

This YMCA is wonderful! The facility is clean & the people are friendly. They've done some very nice upgrades. The employees are always respectful & helpful. Update! With a membership, you are offered services for which the member pays. It's a disservice when all the member benefits are not given. Due to health issues swimming is imperative to my weightloss. In saying that, showering afterwards is also imperative. However, the hot water hasn't been working since last week. I asked the man at the front desk anoyt the water this morning, "notices were sent out about the hot water"... I didn't receive a notice & I couldn't find a notice on the website. This is what should've been said with sincerity to ease the frustration of members " I apologize for the inconvenience, we are working on getting the problem fixed"!!! Be honest about the situation! I appreciate honesty! I have Lupus Dry eye syndrome, etc...Showering is very important!

Hello. Everything is more or less normal. But people visiting the sauna, a big request not to talk on the phone in the sauna. You can chat for hours, but what should I do, I can't listen to it for hours. Some of the chatters leave, the negotiators come. Have pity on my ears and other people. Very boiled, these people cannot understand what is disturbing others.

Hi, I wanna redo my suggestion about this place, I would like to tell you all of my experience in this place, 1. I would like to talk about the people and or the staff. The staff in the front door is very nice welcoming others, the staff in the gym, pool, and others are nice too, BUT sometimes the people are bad, I don't like when people around me say bad words and I hear how they talk and sometimes how they act. But the stuff is 8/10 2. The gym 🙌, the gym is beautiful, I wasn't here last year, but I know how the people work hard to make others feel good in this place, it has changed in a lot more better way. The gym is 9/10 because sometimes May have some issues. 3. The pool🏄, the pool is 10/10 it's perfect. 4. And I want to compare all, this place is very kind, the people who built this place who recently upgraded this place, who really want to make it a good place for family, I really appreciate you for what you're doing for all of us. Thank you.
