I love this planet fitness, unfortunately my location was closed due to new equipment being loaded and renovated. So I had the pleasure of traveling all the way out to forest hills location. , great workout machines and lots of equipment. The locker room could be a bit bigger . But overall it’s clean , and the staff has create customer service. I’m definitely going back to this location.

While the manager Bria and a couple of the staff are a very down-to-earth, approachable ensemble, the gym itself has recently become increasingly lacking in enforcement of protocols concerning appropriate gym behavior, considerations and courtesies. Because of the manner in which some of the guests use space with no consideration for the elderly especially, this gym location can at times be an unsafe obstacle course. Unfortunately, the gym staff cannot keep up with the goings on at this location. Moreover, some of the youths at the gym are defensive and snotty when politely asked about other options concerning where they situate moveable benches and weights (spread out to narrow the pathway). For many at this gym, it is a free-for-all where some people wear tank tops, sweating on equipment without cleaning/sanitizing (with many available spray bottles and paper towels to clean the devices in place throughout this location). Many people spend considerable time on their weight-training machines, using their phones longer while seated than working out. Such circumstances leave more conscientious guests in a place of being singled-out as “bothersome” should they reach out to the young employees, some of whom will never look you in the face or greet you. Often this is a facility where one cannot count on any given day if one’s workout will go smoothly, in a timely manner, and efficiently or or if one must wait around for machines that are high in demand because there is only one such device. While several of the staff have lovely, helpful dispositions, some do not, thereby making this particular location proof that the great pricing has everything to do with the saying, “You get what you pay for.” Certainly, if you’re determined to get a great workout and are not in a hurry, this franchise is still a great value until further notice. If you’re accustomed to a more upscale gym where manners and behaviors of patrons are in order and you are not concerned about your gym budget, this is not an ideal place for a workout you can count on each time you go—especially one that is without people who lack gym manners. If one attempts to courteously address something directly to a fellow guest concerning weights being in the way or the idea that a guest is monopolizing two machines simultaneously during a busy time—while spending considerable time on one’s Smart phone, one must be prepared to expect that some of the younger guests especially can be aggressive and disrespectful. Bria, this location’s manager, does what she can to within reason and has even in my presence banned a very volatile, hostile guest whose behavior warranted having the police contacted. So, unless you’re one to ignore the mixed bag of apples at this gym, it can have disappointing, frustrating days. Certainly, if one is determined to get in a great workout—regardless of the many variables at this gym, your workout will happen. Still, I recommend chanting a Buddhist mantra at home prior to your workout at this gym.

Staff is really cool, gym is surprisingly pretty clean. Only pinch is that some machines are down semi-frequently, though the most important ones (and free weights) are always ready to go.

A great and convenient gym. Has all the equipment you need. It does get pretty busy at times but overall you can get a machine. My only issue is when it is busy there aren’t enough lockers in the changing/bathrooms.

The place is clean and very spacious, the lighting is great,it have many workout machines, staff are courteous. The only problem they have hundreds /thousands of customers who have the Black Card plan who wish to use their massage chairs and hydromassage beds but they only have two of each. Sometimes one or both doesn't work or you have to wait a long time to get to use it. Also both used to be 10 minutes each for the massages, now it is 5 minutes.

It’s the ONLY safe space left for women in NYC who don’t feel comfortable working out in co-ed settings. Rich variety of classes offered. Weight room downstairs, personal training also available. Highly recommend it!

I don’t understand why people in the reviews are complaining about male trainers/instructors, we should all feel blessed to have the last standing all women’s gym in New York. I feel comfortable being surrounded by female gym members and male instructors being around. This gym always had male instructors since way back. I first joined 14 years ago and they already had male instructors I appreciate being able to be part of an all girls gym and not have to deal with the anxiety of working out around so many men.

We have been at Lucille's on and off over the years and it was okay. This time, we were greeted by Aisha at the counter who did an all around wonderful job. Great addition to Lucille's! The gym is clean, many types of different equipment and we're enjoying our visits. So very much better than Planet Fitness. Sorry we didn't go to Lucille's first!

There is a old man working out at this gym. I thought Lucille Robert’s was only for women. This is unacceptable. It’s making people uncomfortable. Just look at the women terrified :(

Update as of 12/14: this is not about the gym itself but the gym goers. Some folks really lack common sense and respect. First off, if you are late to a class you stay in the back, don’t try to find a spot closer to the front just because that”s “your spot,” when it’s rude but also now you’re blocking others so keep arms-width distance apart and stay in your space. Stop leaving your bags on the studio floors, there are signs everywhere and it’s a safety hazard. And take your phone calls out of the studio or away from where others are working out. If you take any equipment then you put the equipment back and clean up after yourself. You wipe the machine before and after, respect the space. If you are sick, do not come to the gym, you’re clearly contagious and that’s selfish of you. The bathrooms should be clean, flush the toilet and keep the stall and toilet clean. Stop bringing your phones or talking in the sauna when others are there, be respectful of the fact that there are others there too. Lockers should have locks on them, so we know it’s occupied but also to keep your items safe, you’re putting way too much faith in others to not steal from you. Quit blocking the doorways and stairs, this is for people to move in and out not for you to chat or use your phone. Lastly, quit hogging the machines, equipment and space. We all pay for our dues and should be mindful that this is a shared space. We are all adults and should show courtesy and respect to all. I’ve been to plenty of gyms from planet fitness to blink, to one of Groupon classes for boxing, expensive day pass classes and other classes across the city. I always thought LR was going to be super expensive. For $35 a month, I can take ALL the classes I want, access equipment that is NEVER HOGGED, change in a locker room, AND end my day in a sauna, while being in a comfortable space surrounded by amazing and respectful women. I’ll take it. I literally joined a week ago and have gone three times so far and absolutely love it. I feel better physically and mentally. I look forward to trying more classes and continuing my fitness journey, I hope others do too!
