I love the classes at the studio. I have been visiting for over 2 years now. Kat and Tasha are some of my favorite instructors here. After their classes, I feel like I can accomplish anything in the world. I don't care so much about other facilities as I do about the class experience. But lately I have been experiencing that the acoustics in the sculpt room have been affecting my yoga practice in the Yoga Sculpt class room. Not sure if there has been a recent re-installation of the speakers or of it's new set of speakers or something else. But the music on the left side of the room (closer to the entry door) tends to get really really loud (It's definitely more than the healthy hearing levels). I recommend a sound decibel level testing be done in that room, and a max limit is set based on the healthy hearing level. If there is a need for the music to be that loud, I recommend sharing hearing protection ear buds at the beginning of the classes. I have been visiting the studio for over 2 years and the music definitely wasn't an issue before, but some new change that has happened recently is affecting it.

Booked a class on Classpass, turned up on time but was told there was no more space in the class so I was turned away. The staff assured me they would contact Classpass so I wouldn't be charged the credits or for a missed reservation. However, I got charged the entire 31$ missed reservation fee. This has created so much hassle. I am upset that I was wrongfully charged and unable to attend at my original time.

same review as other one star reviews. Literally was right on time yet got locked out. The sign to the studio was not clear enough and they couldnt even communicate thru the buzzer that they cannot let me in. Simply just no response. Cannot even tell if the buzzer went thru.

I've been to countless yoga studios around the tri-state area and overseas, and I have to say - not a great place at all. The place is filthy- grimy mirrors, dirty carpet. For an UWS yoga place, I'm highly disappointed. While the instructor was super nice and gave a great class, the music is way too loud and doesn't transition from start to finish, so there is definitely no zen feeling of rejuvenation after...and this is with stating on the website that the Playlist is curated...hmmm not sure how fast rock/pop is curated, just had a headache after - not to mention kids running around loudly somewhere during Savasana. If you're looking for the whole yoga experience-this isn't it.

The classes here are awesome, I cannot speak highly enough of the instructors. But, the facilities need a facelift… the lockers are falling apart, the studio ceiling was dusty/grimy, and the floorboards are all dinged up. Great instructors, not so great location.

Pros: Staff were nice to me. They speak English only so if you cannot speak English use google translate! Very good security. I felt safe in there. Women bathroom door locks so no one will walk in. Gym and sport facility was top notch!! Great coffee shops near by. Disliked · Think insane asylum decor. Smells like a stinky wet dog in the room. Bunked needs to be bolted to the wall cause you hear squeekin everytime someone moves. Room was extremely hot. Doors need to be painted a cheerful color they are all scrapped and brown color. The hallways are sad looking. Shower low pressure Luke warm.

My first time staying here & at first was kind of a culture shock but I learned to truly enjoy the experience. Next to Central Park, YMCA westside is A beautiful 1928 Architectural icon Hostel hotel; Loved the location, love the pricing, Worked around the bathroom situation. The pool area & locker room was a definite bonus and the workout room was appreciated At no additional cost. Do bring your own personal appliances as there are none on site. But sooo many places to see and eat at within walking distance. Would absolutely do.it again.

Great location, mins walk to Central Park, Columbus circle and Subway station. 15mins walk to Times Square and every other attractions nearby. 20mins walk to the MET and AMNH. If you expect this is a star rank hotel, it will fail to reach ur expectations, however if you think this is a university dormitory, the facilities will fit the requirement. This an affordable, comfortable and safety property not only in West side but entire Manhattan! The property have around ten private bathrooms at the floor of semi-private bathroom room, and you can easy access to the view of Central Park from the windows, it also comes with bottle filling machine which can save ur bottle.

Here are the lyrics to the iconic song "Y.M.C.A." by the Village People: Young man, there's no need to feel down I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town There's no need to be unhappy Young man, there's a place you can go I said, young man, when you're short on your dough You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find Many ways to have a ball It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A Young man, are you listening to me? I said, young man, come on and take a plea You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal You can do whatever you feel Young man, I was once in your shoes I said, young man, I was down with the blues I felt no man cared if I were alive I felt the whole world was so jive That's when someone came up to me And said, "Young man, take a walk up the street" There's a place there called the Y-M-C-A They can help you, but you've got to be brave It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A Y-M-C-A, it's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A Y-M-C-A, it's fun to stay

I do not come to NYC without buying a class pack for the time I’m here and this is definitely my go to location. The class is super hardcore which I love but at any point you can modify anything you need to. There’s also something very luxurious about this gym. For example, they don’t ask you to wipe down your machine, they do it for you and there’s a towel waiting for you at your treadmill and at your bench and you can have a smoothie waiting for you at the end of your work out. None of it is really necessary but it’s all very nice touches! Instructors are all amazing and so is the music!

WATCH OUT!!! This location is a nightmare!!! There is a THIEF IN THE LOCKER ROOM!!!!! They know and they continue to go back as they know they can get away with it. For as expensive as this gym is they allow whom ever to come in and know they can steal while the customers are working out. I had very valuable items stolen - they take no accountability and are even a bit passive about it like well you shouldn’t leave them in your locker. MULTIPLE WOMEN have had their purses and valuable items STOLEN: My Cartier watch and VINTAGE LV bag were stolen while others had their Gucci and Goyard purses stolen. Since there are no cameras in the locker room this thief will keep getting away with it. At the time they had no signs up in the locker room and now they are all over the gym. I have spoke to the police and done everything I needed to on my end but in the end Barry’s and their insurance company take NO RESPONSIBILITY! THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THEIR CLIENTELE!!!

I’m actually quite impressed. Was expecting it to be low on equipment and super overcrowded. The weight lifting equipment is in great shape, clean and plentiful. Good variety of equipment for all weight lifting routines. Bathroom was clean with plenty of lockers. If you need a gym in the area, worth taking a look.

Staff is awesome. Machines and locker rooms are good. However, the weight room upstairs doesn’t smell great. I know it’s a gym, but I’ve been to other gyms where the smell is only moderate and I can leave without feeling like I immediately need to wash my hair. The smell upstairs is pretty oppressive, to the point where I avoid the weights. Crunch staff, please add some air purifiers or look into a deep clean to help with this!

I’ve been going to this gym for about a decade. Checking in is an easy swipe. Several people who work there know my name and use it, which I appreciate. It’s clean, and my fellow co-members are courteous. I generally go early or mid afternoon; it’s not crowded at these times. They always have clean towels available. It’s a bit more expensive than I would like, but in NYC, it could be worse. That’s the reason I’m doing 4 stars instead of 5, along with the policy of if you’re going to freeze your membership, it has to be on the first of the month.

Smaller than other gyms. Clean, but sadly souna was closed. Most employees there are great. Had a bad experience with the manager who not only spoke to me disrespectfully via email but also lied about the monthly cost both in writing and over the phone. Only one leg extension machine is entirely insufficient. every time I come here, 75 to 98% or the cardio equipment is left unused, while there's a long queue for the leg extension machine. this can be remedied quite easily but the franchise appears to be switching out the two older, better leg extension machines that once adorned each location with a single newer yet stiffer, lesser machine. it's like they want to inconvenience gym-goers on purpose.

So I'm a few days late with this review because I had a good workout and a good rest 😂. Not only is this location clean and well stocked with everything you could need but the staff is so helpful. I'm more than sure that is Sam's doing since she is precise, informative, and overall absolutely amazing. Even helped me with a lock situations at the last minute. I was very hesitant at first but this has been one of the best locations I have been at for ANY gym and I am pleasantly surprised. I am very happy they had the trial day as well so I could get a feel for it. Definitely recommend this location

I wish I could give this -0 stars. On March this year I walked into this branch and spoke to a rep at the counter. I explained that I live in South Carolina and that I was only VISITING. She said that after 45 days I could go ahead and cancel which to me that was OK. After the 45 days I call to cancel and I am told I have to do it IN PERSON. I explain I was never informed of this and request a Manager CB and to this day I am still waiting for the call. Evry time that I call there NEVER IS a supervisor available, NEVER. Fast forward to Saturday August 24 2024, I TRAVELED to NY and walk in to cancel said subscription. The agent helps me and the screen says I have to pay $39 which I explain to her I am not paying any more money. I then get written on a sheet and told that I would get a cb. Today Aug 29 2024 I AM STILL WAITING for said cb. I called AGAIN and guess what? THERE IS NO SUPERVISOR available so again I have to wait. This company and location is a JOKE. I advise for you to search somewhere else because this company ain't it.

Came to this gym to get a nice workout in which was a horrible decision. You would think trainers have gym etiquette but not these two. The trainer (A FAT GUY ON TONS OF STERIODS, A MANBUN & A WEIRD LOOKING NOSE) took over a hour on a machine which they have two of but one was out of service. I asked the trainer how much longer he has and he said 15 more minutes after already being on it for 45 minutes. I came back in 15 mins. He then got upset and tossed his towel on the floor in frustration and wanted to fight. Then tells the other trainer (THE TRAINER WITH THE EAR GAUGES) who was near by that he is going to do 8 more sets just to make me wait longer. they both giggled while i walked away. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at any Blink Fitness. I recommend everyone to stay away from this gym cause trainers at this gym will fight you if you ask how much longer they have on a machine. P.S. DONT DO STEROIDS KIDS. THE ROIDS MAKE YOU RAGE AND THIS MAN WAS RAGING.

The staff at this location is kinder and more attentive than any other gym I have had a membership to in my entire life. I'm not being hyperbolic, just honest. Also, they are constantly kind to our unhoused brethren and navigate a tricky situation of not pushing them out regularly. If you want a gym that is clean, has an almost 100% working machine ratio and that is KIND, this is your gym. I value that tremendously and think that corporate gyms largely lose this focus. Also, the pricing is insanely fair and the ROI for me is WILDLY on my side. Also, the guy/girl ratio is in favor of the ladies and it is a pretty incredible visual...

The worst showers and toilets of them all. Iv’e had Blink membership for more than three years and most of the time I come to this location because it’s convenient for my commute. The toilets are always dirty and with the toilet paper on the floor or the actual toilet. The showers are always dirty and they don’t supply soap (if the soap holder is not broken). I talked to a manager about it a few months back and nothing changed.

I've been going here for roughly 5-6 years. The gym is good, the equipment is between good to brand new as they recently had new equipment. The gym is typically 70-80% full at most times I have ever been. The members are very friendly, the workers are great, and it is very clean. Unlike other comments not once have I ever seen homeless people within the gym's premises. A lot of the reviews comment in regards to it's capacity and having to wait for equipment. This is NYC and this gym is not the size of a warehouse. There are a lot of machines and free weights. I typically never wait more than 5-10 min for a machine in the rare cases that I wait as I dynamically change my workout and order depending on what is being used. Only issues are sometimes when a machine is knocked out of use it can take a while to fix it. And obviously 5 less treadmills replaced with a few other machines wouldn't hurt

The facility and equipment is good and well maintained despite near constant use. The hours are good and the staff is nice. HOWEVER in over 15 years of lifting I have NEVER experienced a gym with such awful members. No one has any gym etiquette. They will monopolize 3-5 pairs of weights at a time. They’ll take up benches or machines for 30+ minutes to do 3-4 sets. It’s unbelievable how inconsiderate and entitled the people who go to this gym are. If you can afford ANY other gym in the city I’d highly recommend.

Clicks between members allow them to dominate machines even when you’re waiting for 15-20 minutes for your turn. This location is honestly the worst for this behavior and staff can’t really intervene appropriately. I’ve been going to blink for 3+ years, but this is by far the most difficult location to workout for this reason.

I’m not coming here anymore ! They are not organized, there are only few machines . They don’t control the access of homeless people to lockers or any area but yet they denigrate good people just because they don’t like them as they Did with a GOOD guy I used to train with 🙏🏼. There is a tall, thin, very haughty girl. They will soon run out of customers because of that and more and will have to close. 👍🏽at the end planet fitness much better 😆

Reluctant being a member here - they can be rude and unhelpful. Sometimes they’ll clean the showers during peak hours so I have to wait 15-20 minutes to use it. Today they had 0 towels and didn’t send an email notice or mention as you walk in. I didn’t have time to go home and shower so I was forced to air dry and couldn’t use the steam room either. They also didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience. If you’re paying $100+ you expect common decency and to get basic needs met.

I got a free day pass to use the gym from an ad for Crunch Gym 81st street and decided to check it out the next day. When I arrived, a rude guy at the front desk without looking at me (he was just using his phone all the time) told me I should have scheduled a date to use the pass—something that was never mentioned when I received the email confirming my day pass I scheduled a time to use my free day pass with the manager at Crunch Gym. After arriving and waiting a few minutes for him to check my ID, I was told I still couldn’t work out. Instead, they spent the entire time trying to sell me a membership, insisting that I had to sign up if I wanted to use the facilities. I explained that we wanted to work out first, as I was doing a gym tour to decide which gym to join. He said that I have been there before couple months ago with a friend and he couldn’t allowed me to work out. Ok so what’s the purpose of a free day pass? This completely defeats the idea of trying the gym before committing and feels like a scam. Because while I’ve visited (more than 7 months ago) I’ve never used a free day pass—nor has my sister, who hasn’t been to the gym at all. Thankfully, one friendly front desk employee offered me a discount on a day pass and allowed my sister to use her free pass. I was genuinely interested in trying the gym before committing, but the experience left me feeling misled and frustrated. Be cautious of their advertising—it’s just a sales tactic.

I love group classes, I think it's time to update the mats for training. And the most important point, why is it so difficult to separate the area for yoga, it is impossible to concentrate because you can hear the music (loudly) from the gym. Put a glass door there, not glass, anything. It really prevents you from enjoying the training with good trainers.

The temperature in this gym is unbearably hot, especially on the 2nd floor where all the cardio machines are. I spoke to front desk and Management doesn't do anything about it. Also, there are no gym wipes to wipe down equipment, just rolls of brown paper towels and "disinfecting spray" you're supposed to carry and bring back to every machine before and after use. Extremely inconvenient but very easy fixes that could make clients happy if addressed.

I have been going here for a few weeks now and have been enjoying my experience! I can't really speak about the weights since I just enjoy cardio, but I have NEVER had trouble finding a machine - no matter what time of day. There are more than enough cardio machines. Everything is clean and there are very few broken machines. There has always been enough paper towels/cleaning liquid. I wish they would install a proper water bottle filling machine, but still appreciate the water fountains that they currently have for filling up bottles. Overall, a great gym experience for a great price.

Have been coming to this location for 8+ years and today I was about to go to the treadmills and was not surprised that I saw someone with a dog on the treadmill, that’s the world we live in, where people only think about their wants and needs, my surprise was that when I went to ask the front desk staff about this dog being allowed inside the gym, someone else was already addressing this matter with the employee who did absolutely nothing but say that it’s New York City’s Law to allow what he called service dogs, I also have the right to workout in a not just judgement free zone but a pet free zone as well. Not everyone wants or can be around four legged animals, the two legged ones are inevitable. Very disappointing.

The owner truly doesn’t care for his clients. One of the elevator hasn’t been functioning for over a month and the door is locked which I think is a fire hazard because staff say the owner keeps the keys. With 1 elevator that is working they only allow 4 people in when the limit is 2,500 pounds, making us wait for over 10 mins to get in once the gym opens.. let me not mention the issues the gym has. An area has been having water issues for months, another area leaks whenever it rains! Owner truly doesn’t care! Go elsewhere. Do better! Giving it a few more weeks if not to planet fitness I go.. UPDATE 8/19/24: 1 elevator is still out of service . A handful of machines are out of services. Officially canceling my membership and going to PF.

- Always packed and weights will be scattered all over the place while the employees chitchat at the front desk. - The stairmasters (3 out of 5) have been broken for over a month and a half (if not longer) as of today. - They don’t have enough barbells for the number of squat racks and benches. How’s that even possible for a gym that stays this busy? - There’s been a leak or something going on with the men’s bathroom since last year and still to update or progress. Currently the issue has made one of the squat racks unusable as well as the ability to shower! Honestly, if there’s was any other gym in the area that wasn’t PF, I would ditch this place ASAP. I reached out to support for an update and of course the provided the most non-answer ever.

Worst gym I’ve ever had. Place is always packed making it take double the time to get the workout you want. Things break all the time and it takes forever to get it fixed. One of their elevators was out for months and if you go in the morning you have to wait to get in because there’s a line of people waiting to go upstairs. Machines are not fixed quickly either. Three of their stair machines have been out for weeks. Would have left months ago had I not been locked in a contract

Been going here for a year on and off when I’m in the area. Place is proof that you get what you pay for. This gym is always crowded. And lately more and more of their equipment is broken. The owner is either not bothering to reinvest in this place or he is not paying attention. There is a limited amount of cable machine attachments. Certainly not enough for every machine. I’ll jump on one of the cable machines as soon as it becomes available and then I’ll have to let it go because I’ll walk the entire room and can’t find it even one extra hand grip attachment. Also long wait times to get on machines because everybody’s busy on their phones or setting up tripods so they can record themselves. A Work out that should take me one hour end up taking me two hours.

If there were negative stars, I would use them. This company seems just as shady as any of the other conglomerates. They take advantage of the people who are barely getting by, while at the same time filing for bankruptcy. I lost my job last month and have been trying to have this bill cancelled (to avoid fees and debt) and they continue to tell me the same thing. It seems so unfair that they are unwilling to cancel my membership without penalty while simultaneously making the world known that THEY ARE FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY and selling their brand. This is one prime example of how the system screws the little man. I literally only used their premises twice in a 6 month period. Please find another place to exercise and get healthy!!! This company seems just like any other capitalist pig, who can care less about their customers. Never again.

can’t speak for every PF, but here Staff does their job well, and anything slowing them down (that one frozen TV, broken cardio machines) isn’t staffs fault. I always see them cleaning and maintaining things. Been here for 1.5 years or so and have had no negative experiences aside from a fellow patron maybe sitting on a machine for too long (which is just a thing in itself, haha)

I like it because it has a very good space for everyone to move around and it has changed my life a lot. Thank you for being a member of yours. I feel very proud of my body thanks to that gym.

I’m here almost everyday and am shocked how no one seems to pay any attention to the treadmills that aren’t working. It’s been weeks and more than 15 of them are not functioning, this has been the case for weeks. Not sure if it’s management or if management isn’t getting support from the corporate folks but something needs to be done, don’t be surprised if revenue goes down if this continues without a solution. Not to mention that some that do work are unstable and not leveled, causing the user to be unbalanced and potentially fall (an avoidable liability).

1. Very spacious and a wide variety of machines. 2. I'm able to get a good workout in on a time crunch. 3. The hours are flexible. 4. The staff is friendly and welcoming. 5. The gym is very clean.

My biggest complaint and the complaint of many others who’ve iv encountered in this gym is the use of the smith machines for training at this location. There are individuals who take it upon themselves to train others using all of the smith machines for HOURS. It is inconvenient to others and inconsiderate of our time. In the past I have had to wait 1 hour for 1 singular smith machine which people were lined up for because the other 3 were being used by a rotation of individuals being trained. I let the front desk know and they told me they understood but couldn’t do anything… isn’t this against the PF policy? I don’t understand.
