Absolutely Horrible Experience – Rude Staff and Money-Hungry Management My experience at Crunch Fitness Livingston has been nothing short of awful, and I feel compelled to warn others about this place. From the moment you walk in, the staff’s attitude makes you feel like you’re unwelcome. They are consistently rude, unprofessional, and seem to be annoyed by even the simplest of questions. It’s clear that customer service is not a priority at this location, and they have no interest in helping you out unless it’s about collecting more money from you. The management is just as bad, if not worse. They only care about one thing: getting your money. They make it incredibly difficult to change anything on your membership, and they treat you like an inconvenience whenever you ask for help. If you have any questions about your membership or billing, be prepared to be met with hostility or condescension. It feels like they go out of their way to make sure you regret even approaching them. Not only is the customer service abysmal, but there is also a complete lack of transparency when it comes to membership details. Trying to make even the smallest adjustments to your account turns into an ordeal, and the staff makes you feel stupid for asking questions. They do nothing to make you feel valued as a member, and instead, they act as though you should feel lucky just to be allowed in the building. Overall, Crunch Fitness Livingston is a toxic environment where the staff and management couldn’t care less about their members. If you’re looking for a gym that treats you with respect and values your business, look elsewhere. This place is a joke, and their terrible attitude and poor treatment of members make it one of the worst gyms I’ve ever been to. Stay far away!

I love the place, the energy is so good I’m very new there , my first month . The guy I spoke the first time (Spanish) was absolutely nice and convince me to stay and take all the classes, I have a good experience with Paola at Zumba , love her classes and also with Michael last Monday at 6 pm . Michele is wonderful. The reason I’m giving 4 star instead of 5 was that last Monday ( Dec 16) I was trying to find out where Michael class was since I’m new , one lady treat me very rude , she looked at me as if I were a homeless and everything I asked she felt bothered by me. Like she felt absolutely bothered with my presence, thanks God there was another girl ( blue hair) who was the opposite extremely nice and educated that explained me everything. The name of the nasty lady was Olivie

This gym has a great atmosphere and the staff is always so nice. Especially Luis! He always has high energy and I feel welcomed when coming into the gym! He was a great help when it came to explaining the app and how to set it up.

I’ve been going to this gym for a few months now, and I can’t say enough good things about it! The equipment is top-notch, and the facility is always clean and well-maintained. But what really sets this gym apart is the staff, especially Christian at the front desk. Christian is always friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with anything you need. Whether it’s assisting with membership questions or simply greeting you with a smile, Christian makes you feel right at home. It’s clear that the team here genuinely cares about the members. Highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a supportive and positive environment!

I feel bad about giving a bad review but the YMCA mgmt. has left no choice. In spite of my dozens of complaints over a 1 year period, the Cardio section is kept at very cold 60-61 degree Temperature. I have cited OSHA & IFA recommended settings of 65-68 but they fix it temporary for couple of days & someone lowers it back to marathon runners requirements. It is flu season & last thing elderly members need it to get it from YMCA’s carelessness. Most members are elderly & I see them (& some of their trainers as well) wearing winter jackets in the cardio area even during summer. Strangely, the Basketball courts & weights area upstairs are kept at 68-69 degrees, but can’t understand what is the reasoning behind keeping cardio are so cold. Reception desk cannot adjust temperature & pass on the buck to their director. Unfortunately the NYSC closed down the only other gym in our town, town residents have no choice but to join YMCA or drive to next town.

West Essex YMCA is a gem of a place. The classes and services offered here are outstanding and easily worth the monthly membership fee. I encourage everyone to look into it!!!

Generally, I’m very satisfied with the Y for working out.the gym is clean and the staff is super great. I am extremely unhappy lately of stage 3 swim class, they keep packing kids into the class. Each week there are new kids, and the instructor is overwhelmed. I have been bringing my kids here since Sept - and now I’m removing them because I feel they haven’t made any progress with the lack of staff showing the proper techniques. Picture below shows huge class with one instructor.

Very bad summer camp experience for my son in the summer sprouts program. Teachers don’t answer questions or reply messages in app Staff don’t reply emails (they said they replied to me but not) Staff don’t know how to handle dependent care program reimbursement Staff/teachers have conflicting statements The activity is not aligned with what they set on the schedule
