Clean gym. Never too packed. I’ve been looking for a good gym in this area for a while and snap fitness is it. The staff are kind and the equipment is crème de la creme. And 24/7? C’mon

I recently joined Snap Fitness, and I couldn’t be happier! The location is super convenient, being right next door, and the fact that it’s open 24 hours is perfect for my schedule. The gym is equipped with brand new Technogym machines, and everything is in top-notch condition. I always see someone cleaning, so it’s clear they prioritize cleanliness, which I really appreciate. The staff are friendly and welcoming, creating a positive environment to work out in. Overall, I’m very satisfied and excited to continue my fitness journey here!

I love this gym it’s a great addition to Jersey city’s downtown area. It’s 24/7 and has all brand new equipment. The staff is very friendly, always welcoming you with a warm smile. The sauna is a plus !

I joined this gym right when I moved to Jersey City, and it's been great! Honestly, it is the most modern and newest gym in the area, so it is worth the price. The front desk is very friendly, and the staff is always looking to improve the gym even more. I like how there is a little sauna in the locker room. There is just enough space and equipment to get a full workout in. The tap access is super easy and allows you to workout at any time. I started training for my half marathon on their treadmills!!

As of recently, this gym has been smelling really bad. I've been going to this gym for over a year and hadn't encountered this issue until the last few weeks. The second I enter the gym, I get the worst whiff of bad body odor. I've even mentioned it to workers and they seem unaffected. Like, I know you can smell that intense onion stench. There's a group of men in the gym who every time they're in the gym leave the place smelling bad — especially in the stretching room. I know the workers can't single people out, but in that case I do think they should have air freshener or something to get that smell out. The stretching room is a tight space with no vents, so that smell lingers. I haven't been able to go in there for weeks because the smell is awful. Sometimes I'll see the stretching room is empty and wonder why. When I walk in, the smell is so horrendous and there's only one person in there with the BO. No wonder it's empty! Despite this, I do think the workers are proactive in cleaning machines, but perhaps the team should take an extra step to spraying the area whenever it gets super hot in there.

Inside is actually pretty clean and well kept, but the reason for the 3 stars is the parking lot is THE most littered that I’ve ever experienced.

The parking lot needs some help and they need paper towels in the restrooms. How do you guys not have paper towels… the place is constantly wet everywhere in the women’s bathrooms and would love some squat racks :) besides that this place is very nice ! in response to the response I got: I think thats something planet fitness should take up with the property owners. I'm not sure how I would help contacting the owners of the property. they have no incentive to do anything becuase of me, im not the one leasing the propety from them. Please have the owners of this planet fitness work this out with their leasing company. the parking lot is the main reason why people cringe when you tell them this is the gym you go to lol

Pros: Newer gym. Lot of space and plenty of cardio equipment. Less people with gym etiquette issues (but probably due to less crowd overall). Cons: parking lot has lots of pot holes (some very big). Lifting machines, a large number of them, are broken and not fixed. Water fountain has been broken for about a month as of todays date. Slow to fix. Also, some parts of roof leaks during rain.

The staff has changed & it went down hill from there. The “cleaning crew” is working the front desk and just don't know what they’re doing. It smells so bad because the AC is not on and the heat is booming. This kid who so call says he the manger is rude and has a nonchalant attitude.

We had orientation for Saint peters University, which this recreation center is part of it

Very good swimming pool.. 4 feet to 15 .. pretty cheap ..just $600 for family per annum. I got to know that it includes basketball courts, racketball counts and gym. Gym is average but has everything that anyone would need. They have sauna room as well.

They have recently done some renovations in the entry, don't know if more are to come, but the pool area could use sprucing up. I haven't been in the gymnasium, I have to admit so I can't comment on that.

Nice updates to the gym and first floor. No bathrooms on the main level which I'd tough for those on crutches or have difficulty walking

Firehouse Fitness Jersey City: A Must-Try I've been a member of Firehouse Fitness Jersey City since it opened in 2023 and I can't recommend it enough. The gym is perfectly equipped for strength training, with brand-new, well-maintained equipment. The staff is friendly and always helpful. I train with Jim, who has been instrumental in helping me achieve my fitness goals. His expertise and guidance have been invaluable. He's also helped me develop a structured approach to my nutritional health as I try to strike a balance with work/life/kids. If you're looking for a top-notch gym with a supportive community, I highly recommend Firehouse Fitness Jersey City.

The best gym in JC Heights... it's brand new, clean, spacious, modern, and well managed. They have top of the line equipment with friendly staff. I'm so happy this gym opened up, I moved in the area last year and was struggling to get a good workout in. I tried other gyms and left. They just weren't worth the money. I waited months for this place to open up, and it did not disappoint. I will be going here for as long as I live in the area.

The gym itself is great, but hardly anyone cleans the machines. Some people quickly move from one machine to the next without even thinking to wipe them down. Other than a small sign on the wall, there are no clear instructions and the staff don’t make any effort to remind members about proper gym etiquette as they suggested in another review

At firehouse you'll find new, well-maintained equipment that covers pretty much any muscle group you could wish to train (and plenty of treadmills, stair masters, etc., also). It's never too crowded either, even at peak hours. The owners and staff take the member's concerns seriously and are super friendly & welcoming (no toxic gym culture here!). The facility is very modern, and has some great spots for photo ops such as in the group fitness room (ofc while respecting other's space). Most importantly, this gym takes gym etiquette and hygiene seriously.
