Update: I spoke with the manager this morning and he reassured me that the situation would be addressed. He also confirmed that Alyssa would not be working this evening so I decided to give PF another try. I noticed how nice and clean the gym and amenities are as I was given a tour and had everything explained to me. The staff was much better this evening! Brooke and Kerry were very helpful and very nice immediately when I arrived. Their customer service skills were great and they were respectful. They made me feel comfortable especially as a new member with lots of questions. I hope I continue to get this type of treatment as well as everyone else that visits PF. No one deserves to be belittled, scorned, or talked to with disgust especially in a gym where people can already feel insecure. I signed up for a black card membership today and tried to use some of the amenities the same day. I first went to PF to sign up, but I was told it is easier to do it on my phone or at home. The person briefly explained the difference between the two types of memberships and said that you can bring a guest anytime with the black card membership. The person even said that some people only get one black card membership for themselves and bring their spouse along instead of getting two memberships. I asked if the tanning and hybrid beds can be used anytime and they said they could as long as the gym is open. No one ever said that your guest cannot use any of the “spa” amenities. I should mention that I have never used a gym or had a membership anywhere before so I am very unfamiliar with how this all works. I decided to drive home, 25 minutes, to complete my membership and bring my 21 year old daughter back to the gym with me (she has also never been a member). Today we were only interested in trying by the hybrid bed, maybe the massage chairs, and to look around. We scanned our passes in and proceeded back to the spa area. No one at the counter addressed us in any way. One hybrid bed was vacant so we went in and we were going to take turns using it. It seemed to work fine- still didn’t know that we did anything wrong. When we came out Alyssa was so disrespectful. In a very rude tone, she snickered that two people can’t be in the room together and said that you must sign up. I just said we were taking turns- again not having a clue that there was any type of policy to use the beds. She totally embarrassed us with her remarks in front of other people waiting to use the beds. She never came up to us after that to talk to us privately. I had to go to the counter to ask what we could use. I then found out that my daughter wasn’t allowed in the spa area by Alyssa but she couldn’t tell me where that was stated. I didn’t see where it states this anywhere and Alyssa didn’t even know where it says this. She also question my daughter’s age, 21, and I’m pretty sure Alyssa herself is younger than that. Alyssa, with her attitude, told me that it’s common sense that two people can’t use the bed. Again, I didn’t know the policy…first time and I am made to feel very stupid. My daughter and I will share a dressing room, a bathroom stall, we have went into a spray tan room to take turns using the booth and it’s never been a problem anywhere else. I have never been treated so poorly by someone and she never tried to nicely explain how anything was supposed to work or what we were supposed to do. Another nice employee did explain that when we first got there, I was supposed to have gotten my picture taken and signed in. I was not told that when I first stopped in to inquire about getting a membership and I didn’t see anywhere on the app that I had to do that. Of course, I didn’t get my picture taken as I was so upset and felt so judged for being new. Judging - Mocking, criticizing, or making negative comments related to another person's appearance, experience, ability, knowledge of equipment, etc. - this is directly from the PF website talking about a “lunk”. Why do you let people work in your facility that are so unkind and unhelpful?

So yesterday i went in the morning and the girls one in a wheelchair and one with glasses. We’re both rude didn’t say hi or bye and just stared like I did something wrong. The night staff is awesome and talks to me and asks how my day is going. The managers there ignore you and act like you shouldn’t be there. 24 hours is what I signed up for only to be let down. I already cancelled my membership once and only have one because my family wants me to go there. You need to change or talk to the day staff because they are going to cost you more business.

If your excuse for cutting the 24 hours is expenses, why are the lights still on? Let me see, Let's say the worker at this establishment makes, 16 dollars an hour? After checking that tends to be correct, Which is ridiculous considering the poor attitude and ease of work that they produce. They're closed 32 hours with the new schedule. 32 × 16 = 512 So, five hundred and twelve dollars is what the convenience is worth. They would rather have 512$, Than please their customers. Not to mention how they baited everyone in with their previously convenient hours, just to be corporate swine after they've made the quota they desired. Shady business practices, poor customer service. Closing my bank account and withdrawing my membership. I encourage anyone reading this to do the same. Give your business to the YMCA, Or the 24 Hour gym at the end of Philly St. Oh yeah, and if you're a female... Please don't forget that sickening scandal they went through with the transgender MAN. Just save your time. Greed is good. What did I expect.

Gym itself isn't bad.... when the what i'm guessing manager isn't there. Not sure if she is the manager but she sure does act like it. She is insanely ignorant to guests that come with members. My friend got the black card so she could always have someone to go with and when I go, I get looks from this lady and judged like I don't belong. I thought about getting my own membership but she definitely made me second guess that choice.

10000% giving 5 stars because of the salty Sally’s giving this place bad reviews. This gym is super clean the staff and fellow patrons are all very nice and helpful. I’ve been to dozens of PFs and this is by far my favorite one.

My favorite gym, and I've been to a few over the years. The people here are great, the atmosphere is straight up "you are here to work." No lunk alarms, nobody filming, and the location is ridiculously convenient. On top of all that, the price is amazing for what you get access to equipment-wise, just don't expect to come here and be wowed by amenities and other distractions from what you go here to do: work.

Uptown Fitness is awesome. Kelly, the manager (and personal trainer) is fantastic. She changed how I view fitness. I've been going there for five months, and I can't believe how much stronger I am now than when I started. I'm over fifty and I really wish I knew how much easier and more satisfying it is to strength train than run when I was in my early twenties. The gym has so many different rooms and options for everything you need. It feels more personal, like home, than the huge gyms with all the equipment in one room. The staff and other members of the gym are so friendly. I like that a lot of times there are just as many, if not more, women lifting than men. I look forward to going and I always feel much better when I leave. Overall, the vibe is great, and I have had nothing but positive experiences. Which is great because this is a journey that involves consistency that has so many health benefits, especially as we age. If you’re even thinking about going to this gym, stop by and take a tour. It could change your life. That's how I started.

Great place to work out. The staff are all very friendly and the facility is super clean. However, my main reason for writing this testimonial would be about the immense gratitude I have for the Manager/My Personal Trainer at Uptown Fitness. I was referred to Kelly Musser in late February 2021 and was ready to begin my fitness journey, specifically interested in one-on-one training with a professional. This has been the best decision I've ever made for myself. Kelly is encouraging, motivating, and very thorough with her explanations and outright spot on with her visuals to demonstrate proper technique and form to ensure you are safely and effectively achieving your fitness goals. Kelly challenges you and is right by your side guiding you along the way. What an amazing trainer Kelly is...second to none! I lost 20 pounds in the first 14 weeks, minimized my stress levels, and pants size:) Thanks you for making me feel proud even of my smallest achievements. Your positive attitude has really kept me going. I've enjoyed the training so much and am very grateful for all your support. Holly M. Hall

I have been going to this gym for about a year now and I have been overall pretty pleased with my experience. There are tons of different machines, a lot I don't even know the use for. Even when crowded there is still enough space to be able to cater to your own personal workout needs. There are two separate rooms that are available for use that I use for planks/chin ups. The staff are always friendly and there are many different classes offered here. I just have yet to join in on any of them because they're a bit out of my price range. The only negative thing I can say is that the vending machines are often empty and the doors to the restroom are propped open a lot of the time for some reason. Oh, also, the news is ALWAYS on the TV and it doesn't feel like you should change it. That's just not really something that makes me feel like working out. Other than that, the place is very nice and well stocked on towels and cleaning spray for equipment! Recommend it if you're looking for a gym to go to.
