I absolutely love the culture and vibe of this gym. The members here are incredibly passionate, and the community is so welcoming. The staff at reception are always friendly and humble, creating a great first impression. While some of the equipment could use updates, I can tell they are constantly working to improve. I’ve noticed that the Crunch in Mechanicsburg has more up-to-date machines, and it would be great to see similar upgrades here. Nonetheless, the positive atmosphere and the people really make this gym stand out.

I'll never get a gym membership here again. Half of the machines would be broken when you did go to the gym. Tried going into the facility nope can't cancel there they give you a 3rd party number to call. And there all foreigners. They're a rip off and make you still pay a cancellation fee which is crazy. I've haven't been in this establishment in almost a year and I've been just giving away free money. I wish I never signed up for this gym. I am not sure who the owner of all of the crunch facilities are but I am not pleased. Never heard of a gym making you pay to cancel a membership. Lesson learned never again.

I had high hopes for Crunch Fitness, but it has been a total disappointment. The gym is far from perfect. The equipment is often broken or outdated, and the cleanliness is seriously lacking. The staff is unhelpful and sometimes even rude. The classes are overcrowded, and the overall environment is not welcoming. For the price they charge, I expected much better. I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone looking for a quality workout experience.

I've been a member of Crunch Fitness for a while, and I have to say it's far from a perfect gym. The equipment is often broken or outdated, and it takes forever for them to fix anything. The gym is usually overcrowded, making it hard to get a good workout in. The cleanliness is also an issue; the locker rooms and showers are often dirty. Additionally, the staff can be unhelpful and seem more interested in chatting among themselves than assisting members. Overall, I'm quite disappointed and expected much better.

Full membership is not worth it at this location!! 16 bulbs out in tanning beds for over two months.mase this review 2 weeks ago, tanning bed now has 20 lights out…. Clearly management has zero value in the product they charge almost $40/mo for! Note is ignored in the desk. Massage beds always broken. Much of the Equipment is broken. Entire gym is dirty. Kim is only reason I enjoy this location, always greeted with genuine happiness. She is quick to assist with any supply issues or messes.

Let me start off by saying that this is not my home Planet Fitness, but that I have visited this specific gym many times since it has opened. Just this AM I was walking on the treadmill and about to finish my workout. The manager (whom I was told later by the desk clerk that it was Jeremiah) advised me that my sweatshirt, which I had laying on the handle of the treadmill, was not permitted and that it must it be worn. I was wearing a regular tank top at this time for full disclosure. I asked if I could just put my swearshirt on the floor at which he replied that this was also not permissible. Like I stated earlier, I have visited this specific gym many times in the past and on each occasion, have removed my sweatshirt/T-shirt after I warm up. This is the first time that I have been addressed with this "policy" at this PF or any PF for that matter. To add to this as I was walking out I observed a female on the treadmill wearing a tank top with her jacket draped over the handle of the treadmill?? Be consistent with the enforcement of your policy or don't enforce it at all. I'm not sure if this is a local rule but I've never had this issue at ANY PFs in the past. To be fair I'd like to state that this gym is very clean and well organized, and I wrote a great review reflecting those facts when this gym first opened. I'm not sure if this is an isolated incident, but just be consistent!!

I’ve been going to this location for many years. Recently I’ve been bothered by the disproportionate cleaning focus on equipment compared to the locker rooms. I’ve seen the same dirty qtip on the floor all week while the cup holders on the cardio seemingly get cleaned routinely. Locker rooms could be vacuumed quickly multiple times a day.

The cleaners never check to refill empty paper towels, most time almost all the paper towels are empty, the men locker room have only Two hangers which is very sad, especially for spring and winter we don’t have hanger to hang jackets. The Treadmill should be calibrated beyond 1hour if not all but some specific ones, so people that love running can run for long without breaking or wait for the treadmill to boot again.

By far this is the best Planet Fitness that I have visited so far. If you do visit ask for Rick very courteous and knowledgeable. The staff are expertly trained. This facility is huge compared to the others I have visited in the past. The PF in the New York City Area need to take notes. The amenities are superb on a next level. I mean they have monkey bars, 10 tanning beds, massage chairs, the dumbbells go up to 75 LBS.💪🏿🙈 ...Nuff talk just check out my pics.🔥🔥🔥

I had a great experience in the club. The layout is great and made it so that a lot of people could be in there without being on top of each other. The equipment is clean and in good work in order I’ve been all over the country hit a few different planet fitness my experience here was one of the best.

The staff here is awesome. Everyone is so friendly and Scott the trainer was great to work with. He put together a customized workout plan for me and took me around the gym introducing me to the various equipment. The gym is always clean and there’s a ton of equipment options so you rarely ever have to wait. I highly recommend Planet Fitness in Harrisburg!

I have been going to this Planet Fitness location since 2015, literally 10 years. I've been a member through two remodels. I've been a Black Card member, so I've seen other locations locally and nationally to compare, as well as other gyms in this area like the Friendship YMCA and Platinum Fitness. First, the PROS of this location: 1) Space. It's very spacious compared to the average PF in this area and it uses that space well. There really aren't many areas that feel too crowded or claustrophobic compared to some gyms. 2) Organization. The areas of the gym are well organized. This location is currently swapping out some machines and moving a few things around, but the overall layout is really nice. Dedicated areas for different points of focus, including the stretching area, 360 area, and the 30 minute workout area are nicely segmented. 3) Cleanliness*. My personal experience is that the average gym is not that clean. In general, this gym stays cleaner than those despite getting a decent number of patrons. There have been a few lapses in this, so see the cons section. Now, the CONS: 1) Hours. Planet Fitness used to be 24 hours! This was PF's number one selling point in my opinion, and they abandoned it. I have literally heard radio ads for PF that say, verbatim, "most clubs are 24 hours." All 5+ clubs in greater Harrisburg are NOT 24 hours. As someone who went to PF when it was 24 hours, the reliability was unmatched. However, what's more frustrating is how their hours are currently structured! They inexplicably close at 7pm on weekends, but open at 4am and close at 11pm on weekdays (except Fridays). They are kicking people out at 7pm every weekend because there are so many of us that are used to the gym closing at 11pm (or 9pm) the other days of the week. I will bet you money there are way more people there at 7pm on a weekend then 4am on a weekday. Fix your hours for when people are going to be there. Even other former members (who quit!) told me it was because of the loss of 24 hour patronage. 2) Management and Staff. I have seen this location change hands frequently since 2020 and the maintenance / cleanliness of this location has suffered as a result. It's a revolving door of regular employees. PF probably pays minimum wage so they can't find anyone, even though they barely have any staff as it is. When management has changed over, they stopped having as much attention to detail or routine cleaning. I had to point out black mold in the locker room, that was eventually dealt with. But not having enough staff means things don't get cleaned as often. Or fixed. Or replaced. I have seen staff fight each other, yell, and argue while on the clock. Maybe if PF actually paid more they could get slightly better employees. Just a thought, not that PF management or corporate cares about anything other than profits. 3) Not having real free weights (like every other gym) and not replacing equipment: Once upon a time, this location had vertical smith machines, not the angled ones that are impossible for me to use without injury or awkwardness. Ironically, the Enola location across the river not only has more smith machines, but has vertical ones. Go figure. But there are no true Olympic barbells or open squat racks like a other gyms have. So if you're serious about that kind of equipment, this not the gym for you. However, beyond that, this location used to have a full selection of American Barbell bands and other equipment. Over time, they have broken or were stolen (presumably). I've brought this up to management and they have failed to replace them. So I bought my own and bring them. They're not expensive at all, so there's no reason why this gym can't replace them. They're just cheap and greedy in that regard. To sum it up, beyond the Black Card perks of going to any location and bringing a guest, I'm not sure why anyone would go to Planet Fitness unless they're meeting a strict budget.

Very clean and organized. However, employees must enforce the rule of no cell phone use. The exorbitant amount of recovery time taken by some members between sets is ridiculous. Their recovery time would be shortened immensely if they stayed off their phones. The rules state, "No Cell Phone Use". The employees need to enforce this rule. They are not.

My kid almost drowned and I had to jump into the pool to save him because the “lifeguard” sitting right in front of him wasn’t paying attention. Would not recommend. If you choose to sign up for swimming lessons please keep an eye on your child every second because no one is paying attention and they couldn’t care less about your kid. The instructor just yells at everyone. The “head lifeguard” is too arrogant to care about anyone else’s life, which is interesting given her chosen profession. I’m not sure how any child actually learns anything from them. And unfortunately they most likely won’t be shut down until the worst happens. Parents watch your kids! I saw most parents on their phones the whole time. Do not trust these people to save your kid if anything happens.

I have a silver sneakers membership and have been using this location for joint and muscle repair well for starters this facility doesn’t like black people I have been harassed by a lot by either none black people the younger generation I have told the manager about things that occurred at this facility and I believe he is down with it they don’t want us in the pool or hottub(blacks) but I kept going because I got health issues and this one was closer thank goodness I’m about to get my own strengthening equipment in my home I would never pay out of pocket for this facility terrible I don’t even think it deserves a one star I would never recommend this facility to anybody and yess I’m done

Whatever you do do not send your kids to the YMCA afterschool program at Thomas Holtzman elementary school. the counselors at the afterschool program At Thomas Holtzman Find every reason not to take the children out side after school even though it is state law For them to do so on top of parents, paying our hard earned money for the counselors to stay employed . And the supervisor Krista Klauser does nothing about it. The last two days it has been over 60°, and the kids have not been taken outside. The excuses range from the counselors having something to do to not being able to find the keys. It is one after another.. and it is only November and they find multiple times per week not to take them out. Putting their own wants of not wanting to walk outside before the best interest of the children. I warn you do not sign your children up for Thomas Holtzman After school program

We just joined this month (July 2024) with a family membership. One non-negotiable for us with a gym is that they have childcare for our two year old daughter. This is the only way both my husband and I are able to get exercise within our busy schedule. Unfortunately, we have come to this location about 8 times so far, as it is only two weeks into our membership. Each time the childcare watch has been closed even though their listed (and limited) hours say they will be open. We have been so disappointed to be paying for a membership that we can't use. This is the closest YMCA to us at a 20 minute drive. It is so frustrating that they were not upfront about these problems before they had us pay for our monthly fee on top of a commitment fee.
