Best Gyms with Free Weights near Pinole, California

Background music is more like noise. It soothes ages 16 to 24. There are days with a mid-high volume and days with just perfect tones.

Employees harassing members and guests in the bathroom trying to say we are supposed to be present for the guest to be allowed to use the facility. Inappropriate and callous behavior. The only planet fitness I have ever had this happen before. Don't even think this is a written policy. For a place that prides itself in providing comfort for its members this seems to accomplish the opposite. Making up fake rules to appease an audit for someone who doesn't even know how to even run their franchise properly is not how you fix issues it's how you create bad experiences and provide horrible customer service.

I have upgraded my one star rating since management has improved, and this location is still a favorite. I left my previous rant, which follows with heavy editing. "Got little children? Don't hire a babysitter! Bring 'em on down to play on the equipment. The owners have enough liability insurance to pay for injuries. I love kids. They just don't belong in the gym... for a LOT of reasons." The situation that I complained about probably spoke to a larger management issue, which had other symptoms. It seems that most such symptoms have since improved. This is a smaller gym with a great bunch of "regulars". It's a chill place that feels friendlier than bigger gyms. It's in a handy location! The facility maintenance is acceptable, and the staff is friendly.

One of the better planet fitness’s in the area good place to workout for a great cost. If you are thinking about getting a black card membership you should it’s worth the price. This gym is clean enough and the people working here are nice.

Whoever thought it was a smart idea to reduce the hours to less than 24/7 and to make closing so early at 7 pm on weekends needs to get their brain checked. Honestly, if you were reducing hours, Friday, Saturday, and Sundays are the days we should have the ability to go in late. This "trend" to make the hours consistent with other planet fitness is dumb. Seriously considering canceling my membership as I can no longer go at the times I had time to go. And I'm not going during peak hours where you can barely get a workout in.

This is a really nice little gym. It’s well maintained and always very clean. Sure it could use a few more free weight strength training items like an iso lateral bench or incline but I really appreciate the two half racks they do have.

Just posting this as a WARNING lol! This gym is SO outdated. It’s giving senior home facility. Lol Some machines are okay but it’s very small. It’s not worth what they charge at all. I only signed up because I will be going to other AF locations and wanted a super chill gym for shorter workout and more cardio. I came in to inquire about a membership Nov.11 at 11:00 am. Sierra Hillman gave me a short tour. She seemed friendly and seemed to grasp what I was looking for. I let her know I had a friend that also wanted to sign up. She let me know she would give me a “deal” and broke it down to me. There were some pretty unprofessional comments. She asked for my instagram account because she said she will no longer be working there in a couple weeks due to having a college degree. That this job was not for her and she could do better. Then proceeds to let me know she’s good friends with the GM Jamila and that she would put everything under her name. I still wanted to sign up so we booked an appt. I came back Nov. 18 11:15am and she was a totally different person. Barley greeted us. The first thing she said was “Are you here to sign up or what’s the point?” Totally threw us off. LOL She proceeds to be rude and very dry. It was extremely bizarre behavior but we figured she must be having a terrible day from the looks of this place. I would be mad too. My friend asked her “So we would pay $120 to sign up all together today?” And she responded “where did you get that number from?” My GOD. I had to start recording part of it because it was WILD. They charge $70 for a key fob alone. This specific location is owned by a totally different person from other Bay locations. We worked out and staff was not friendly at all. It was clean so I’m happy with that. We called Orinda and Berkeley and even Alameda. Different owners. Completely different experience. Orinda was SO welcoming. According to several AF managers at other locations, Pinole has the worst reputation. Sign up through one of them and you’re still able to come here. You’re welcome. 🤗

What a great gym! Brand new equipment, including a massage bed! It has a few extras that are great perks for members, including charging stations for your devices, towel service, coffee, and heavy bags for boxing just to name a few. If cleanliness is important to you this place obviously takes that seriously as the floors and equipment are constantly cleaned. The downside of many gyms is the bathrooms, but they are actually a strength here as they are spacious and tiled with everything you need. Combine all this with a courteous manager and you've got a great find.

Nice gym. Always clean and the equipment is a great condition. I wish it had a couple other strength machines (a chest supported row would be great, but that takes up a lot of space) but i'm nitpicking. For 99% of people, they have everything they need. Love that its open 24 hours, and that it typically isn't crowded. Friendly staff as well. Edit: They got a chest supported row as of last week. Thank you.

This gym is one of kind! You can see that the owner really, really cares!! From the equipment, bathrooms, flowers, massage room, and the list goes on! Even the suggestion box!! I been in many Anytime fitness gyms, starting in Europe! This one sets a really high standard for any gyms around the globe! I just hope the visitors will share the same vision with the gym owners! Just be tidy and respectful and this will be your best gym ever!
