I wanted to write a review because I had bad service here twice. Actually three times a few years ago my mom and I had been turned away just for the way that we looked. I'm not sure if they thought we were poor or what it was, but we were turned away and treated really rudely. But even in this last week we thought about restarting our membership cuz we have another local Y but the pool is out of service at this time and I've tried twice to contact this Y instead on two different days about four phone calls later. Still no answering of the phones. Even if I call on a busy time or a non-busy time. I either get put on hold the first time I got sent to voicemail several times the second time on a different day which was today. I called the first time and I waited a while before they finally picked up the phone to tell me to wait longer and then I waited about 7 minutes before I hung up. I called again the second time. They made me wait about 5 minutes then sent me to voicemail and then the third time I called today they made me wait about 3 or 4 minutes before telling me to hold again when I explain to the woman that I had already waited 6 to 10 minutes the last time she put me on hold she proceeded to tell me how there was a client in front of her that she was still helping and how that person was there in person so they were more important than I was. I don't know who this woman is. All I know is that she needs to learn a few things about customer service. I've been in the industry for almost 20 years for customer service. Everything from food and beverage to personal training to theme parks. Everything you could think of and just for that, she's convinced me well enough to cancel my membership so I appreciate her whoever she is. Please know that I'm really grateful for you. I don't want to be part of a membership that treats people this way, especially because I think everybody's equal and I know for a fact I've worked in other jobs that were way higher class and there's a time limit a person is supposed to wait on hold on the phone and there's procedures for all these things. So if you're struggling and you need help, that's maybe something you need to talk to your boss about, but you should learn a few things about how to treat a customer. Never going here again. Have a beautiful day. God bless.

The staffing is constantly changing. This location of YMCA has helped me cope with personal loss through friendship, exercise and growth. No complaints except other than keep religion out it. The manager Christian talks a lot about Jesu but doesn't acknowledge the others... "God". The showers could be cleaner! The lifeguards could be friendlier. I quit here yesterday after 10 months. It's a good place but just don't get too friendly or close with management! 24Hours and L. A. Fitness have better hours... Overall 3.5/5 stars from me.

I recently moved to Chula Vista and wanted to call to inquire about swimming lessons for my child. I called multiple days and times last week, as well as this week, and nobody answers the phone. After waiting 10 min you would think someone would answer. I frequent many ymca locations in the county, also call them frequently to ask questions and never had a problem with any other location answering the phone. Perhaps they don’t have front desk staff to answer the phone. I will not be attending this location.

This gym is by far one of the best gyms I have been to, the equipments are always maintained when broken and the equipment variety is pretty good.

Worst gym ever, they close steam rooms at 11:30 but they close showers at 11:15, they even announce they will close showers 11:30 so I plan accordingly, when I went to the showers at 11:15 they didn't let me shower, and I was just coming out of the steam room, I'm thinking about changing gyms, I think staff here is just lazy and they close everything wayyyyyy too early !! because otherwise it doesn't make sense!!! I do not recommended these gym, some day they close the showers way to early and other days they don't, they are not consistent, it is impossible to plan accordingly to what they even announce, I would prefer to stay home and get my workout there, I use to be able to shower until 11:45 before, but they close the steam room at 11:30pm and showers at 11:15 pm?? Really??

Gym has a lot of options and is very well put together. I signed up for a personal trainer here through Redwood and the team of trainers they have has really helped to motivate me and given me a great workout experience. I've always been pretty put off by big gyms but the experience over the last month has made me feel at home.

Awesome trainers. I scheduled a consultation (first workout is free) because I wanted to bring my fitness to the next level and I've been super happy with it. Highly recommended for beginners or experienced folks wanting to push it to the next level. Shout out to Milan, Martin, and Matt. Super positive attitudes on those guys .

Do you like a hot, powerful shower after a hard workout? Then, do not come here. This place has always been packed after work. How clean is the gym? See the photos here for yourself. Hope your car is sprung for off-roading, because that's what you will need for the potholed parking lot. On the plus side, the staff smiles, is friendly, and are actually fit (unlike most other PFs) The equipment here usually works and there are a bank of T.V.s like 70% of the other PFs. The standout feature here, that is a rarity in hyper-woke P.F.s, is a real scale.

Restrooms are not always fully stocked, bring your own soap they are always either running out or don’t work, toilet paper is never or rarely available it’s been numerous times that it had happened to me that’s why I decided to post I always mentioned to the front desk today I got a chance to speak to the manager she just said this one girl steals them all the time. My advise check before you use them and also clean machine before using it I rarely see anyone doing it too, customer service not so great compare to other locations such as Euclid or National city , I drive from San Ysidro and sometimes I rather drive the extra miles to have a smooth workout

white guy here and never felt uncomfortable at all because Im white lol. Not sure where thats coming from. Patrons and staff are all cool as far as I can tell. Ive never felt “stared at” or whatever due being white! The parking lot is horrible and the crowd outside the gym can be sketchy at times. I only use the locker room to pee and wash my hands so no comment on those. Biggest issue is the parking lot to me, the area is what it is.
