My experience was amazing. Steven at the front desk was nice, informative, and provided great customer service! The equipment is up-to-date and unlike other gyms, it is spread out to give you room to work out efficiently.

Honestly, there are plenty of better gyms than this particular location. The manager Joshua is honestly very unprofessional, from his strange comments to and about women. To his short tempered and rude comments to customers when they aren't interested in having the fitness assessment. Very expensive gym with better potential if management was changed.

Place is for beginners . Coming from xtreme fitness of westchester i can say this gym is Not bodybuilder friendly. I see myself lasting a few months here. Nice and clean, but lacking alot of machines. Again NOT body builder friendly. Beginner level. And the whole not having parking is a a bit of an issue for me.

Decent-okay gym, staff need to be more active with members not racking and putting their weights back in place, lack of more pullies and not enough back machines. Wish they add more machines and keep up with the dust of the machines, each time I go I feel like I eat dust from the machines.

I think it is not hygienic that customers are allowed to walk around the gym without a shirt on. This should not be allowed. As a paying customer that has to share the workout benches & workout machines that someone else used with no shirt on, or sat on, is disgusting. There should be signs throughout the gym stating that customers MUST WEAR A SHIRT!!!! I feel very uncomfortable working out seeing other male customers with no shirts on

This review is for the transitional men's program located upstairs. I lived there for three months before leaving. The building is extremely outdated from the 1800's, there are lots of electrical and plumbing issues, every time it rains, it floods the basement. The rooms are very overpriced, $500 for a crappy room. But there are no options in Westchester county. In addition, the caseworker Linda kept stealing from the tenant's rooms when they weren't there. Overall, a horrible and disappointing experience.

My daughter goes there I kinda like it however it’s always a problem when comes to payment. Your payment is due a week in advance not the week your on which to my brain it’s very confuse how Am I going to pay for service when I haven’t received it. However Arthur tries to explain but sometimes I feel he gets confused with his own explanations. I now feel to stop this headache for me I need to pay on a monthly basis not weekly nor week in advance I would know my month is paid and I don’t owe when the last week comes up on that week pay following month in full. Hopefully it works and they can stop saying I owe them 🤜🏽

For the first time in my 20 years of living in Yonkers, I went to the Y MCA. I entered in search of lifeguard training. I was pleasantly surprised to tour the facility and interact with extremely friendly and accommodating staff. This location has it all. A computer, a printer, a game room, a weight room, and a basketball court are all available. I enrolled my son in the program, and he attends three times per week. It is spotless. My son also attends a seminar about college and anything else that young kids are interested in on Friday. It's the ideal setting for our children to stay out of trouble. I'm glad I came across this wonderful place. reina

The programs are wonderful, and some of the employees are wonderful, however, I digress. As other reviews indicate, the stench is repulsive! When it's not the dreadful scent of smoke, weed, or e-cigarette vape, its the dank smell of bleach and the body odor of athletes. I know the athletes are impressive and skillful, but please take a shower, or at least put some deodorant on! The building is very old, and I would take caution going into the "handball court." The "walls" of the "handball court" are a joke, because the walls' paint peels off! Finally, let me advise new members about this YMCA's feature that will make or break your experience; the receptionist! For those who are members at "Y," you know whom I'm talking about. It is of course the bald, and near-sighted receptionist whom always has a smirk on their face. This person always talks to people in a condescending tone, and is very unprofessional. Even if this YMCA resides in an economically poor location, does not give this person the right to treat others as such.

As one of the first female member of the gym, I’ve always felt incredibly secure, safe, and part of a family here. I started my martial arts journey at 18 with a few boxing lessons and then transitioned to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. From white belt to black belt, this gym has seen me grow in more ways than I could have imagined, now 32 years old. I initially joined to cope with a personal loss, and over the years, I moved on to competing, and now, I continue my training as a hobby. This gym is truly unique—teammates become family, and the environment is inclusive. The camaraderie here is unmatched, with plenty of laughs and the occasional roast to keep you on your toes! The facility features a full cage, plenty of mat space, and heavy bags, plus they even offer CrossFit downstairs. Open seven days a week, with hours from 6 AM to 8 PM on weekdays, it’s convenient for anyone’s schedule. They also offer private sessions for those who need extra attention. The coaches are exceptional—Professor Scarecrow, Professor Mo, Professor Mateo, and Butters, to name a few—are dedicated to helping you achieve your goals. Thank you, Animals MMA, for always having your doors open and for creating such a welcoming and empowering space!

I can honestly say that this martial arts academy, and it's instructors has changed my life for the better. Animals MMA has become a home away from home for me and many others. There's a family like atmosphere on the mats, top tier instruction, and a path for every individual to take. Whether it's the path of a hobbyist, an active competitor, or even a professional MMA fighter, Animals MMA is for you. I would emphatically recommend this martial arts academy to anyone and everyone of any age.

Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your skills to the next level, this is the place to be. I use to come from all the way from Queens, NY to train in this gym. Professor Crow has been welcoming to me and my friends since day 1. What I like about this gym is that it's both community and competition based. this gym has everything you need, such as, muay thai/boxing classes, bjj classes with multiple black belts, crossfit area, mma, and etc., including mma cage, boxing ring, and shower rooms. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to train, or to even have fun whether you're a beginner or a competitor especially if you're around the Yonkers area.
