Nice staff, they don't judge too hard when I almost pass out and sit down in rest area a while (on heavy arm days). Lady at the Smoothie King is super nice too, dunno her name but she gave me rags & smoothies twice when I was blacking in & out, after episodes lifting.

Positives are that the gym is clean and the staff is friendly. However, it was not a good fit for me. When going to the gym anytime between 11am-8 pm the machines were packed. It’s clear that signing up as many members as possible takes president over the gym experience and taking account of how many machines you actually have to accommodate that many members. Many times I wasn’t able to complete a workout and had to adjust because of the line of people waiting for certain machines. There didn’t seem to be any type of dress code, some teens and adults wearing pajamas and house shoes. Many people on phones while on machines and not actually working out. Many people taking videos and photos for social media, having conversations at machines not allowing those to use the machines that are there to work out. I found myself having to adjust my schedule completely to work out late at nights just to be able to complete a workout. There aren’t enough heavy free weights in the woman’s only area either. The free weights there are light and only one set of each. There is a contract and you cannot just cancel anytime without penalty. Read the contract and ask questions before you sign up bc the advertisements are deceptive. You get what you pay for.

A wonderful gym to workout got kick out at planet fitness due to heavy lifting at 12 noon there's no other people that uses 45 kg plates this new manager Roy Ortiz short guy. 4 ft. Tall he just started to work as a new manager saying we don't allow heavy lifting at the gym the fact I'm with the gym for 3 years and there's no complaints against me lifting heavy. Immediately I cancelled my membership at planet fitness moved to flex fit but flex fit didn't last long I believe they are not compliant with the building management a sudden move and switch to freedom fitness was a shock but then I didn't regret the change I felt good working out here no Monday pizza or free bagels for members which is good staff are professional saw them every time I work out greeting people with a smile. Freedom fitness highly recommended to all people no racial profiling and racial discrimination not like. Planet fitness people need to stay away to planet fitness, dumbbells max weight are 70 kg which is not that heavy. This is a good way to express my gratitude to the gym staff's thank you all. God bless.

Gym is fine but whoever chose the air freshener at the Saratoga location should be fired. Obnoxious headache inducing old lady perfume smell assaults you the second you walk in the door.

Ingo there nightly and they are always at the desk and checking the floor and locker rooms. Very friendly and greet you coming in and going out. Love this place.

The best and Unique Club in Texas! This gym is worth every dollar my husband and I spent. It is the best place not only in Corpus but in Texas. I have visited many and it is the best without a doubt. Thank you for our new machines and space. Simply wonderful. The people who complain about everything here should travel more and look elsewhere in Texas. There is no other place like this.

They’ve somehow managed to upgrade with even less. The “new equipment” has taken the space of more practical machines. And in that existing area lies fewer machines meaning longer wait times for it to be open. I’m all for renovations and making the flow consistent and smooth in a gym but man I’ve been coming here since 2015 and unfortunately doesn’t feel like what it used to be. Staff is still super helpful and great but if you’re coming to get a casual workout go ahead and plan for at least 2.5 to 3.5 hours not because you’ll be getting a great workout but because the waiting lines for these “new machines”. And yes that means free weights area as well if you’re curious.

The Athletic Club is by far the most overpriced gym I’ve ever encountered, and that’s coming from someone who has been a member of multiple gyms across different cities. It’s a place where you spend a lot of money but get very little in return. The management is particularly disappointing—easily the worst-run facility I’ve ever experienced

Today I had the best class experience. Scott's Core Class. Scott, was a great teacher. He lead us all to success. Not only for the regulars he had in the class. But as a first timer myself, plus many others. He engaged us all in motivational and funny puns throughout the class. After class, he spoke to us encouraging us to come back. I enjoyed the modified versions but felt the encouragment to try the advance version. I had so much energy afterwards. The music, routine and his personality made it an enjoyable experience. I recommend trying it out for yourself.

Honest Review from a Former Manager Management: Where do I even start? Tom Diemler, behind closed doors, is a completely different person—driven by money and indifferent to his employees’ well-being. I had multiple arguments with him about the lack of fair pay and benefits, and while he openly admitted that employees couldn’t survive on the wages offered, he had no interest in making changes. His lack of concern for staff welfare was evident. Equipment: The recent equipment upgrades were necessary, but in some cases, they removed better pieces in favor of newer but less effective ones. Additionally, there aren’t nearly enough cables available for the amount of space provided, which makes workouts frustrating. Staff: The staff is incredible across the board—they truly deserve so much more. Unfortunately, the pay is abysmal, and benefits are practically nonexistent. As a manager, I was only making $14 an hour, which speaks volumes. Employees should at the very least receive free childcare and access to kids’ events as a basic perk, but that’s not the case. Tennis & Pickleball: The tennis programs are outstanding—my son loved them, and the instructors are top-tier. 10/10 in that regard. Pickleball, on the other hand, has gone downhill. The new facility brought along new rules, which have turned the experience into a micromanaged mess. What used to be enjoyable is now frustrating due to unnecessary oversight. Final Thoughts: The staff is the heart of this club, yet they’re treated terribly while upper management and the Sussers focus solely on squeezing as much money as possible from members. Prices keep increasing while employee conditions remain poor. If you’re looking for a gym, skip this place and check out Crunch or Freedom instead. However, if you’re here for tennis and the pool, those areas are well-run, thanks to Sherry and Matt, who genuinely care about their staff and members.
