SHOWERS Lot of fine things about this gym, but I was just there to take a SHOWER, using their 1-day free pass. The service was fine and the whole place was clean, but I'm just reviewing the Shower: - 3 stalls - 1 stall had no shower head (stolen?) - 1 stall had no hang-up hook outside the stall where you can hang your pants and wallet (want to keep an eye on them if you didn't come with at lock to lock your stuff up in one of their lockers (good idea to bring a lock)). - the 3rd (out of 3) stall was fully functional. - the drain didn't work 100%, but at least the shower pan didn't overflow onto the floor. The water backed up about 1/2-3/4 inch deep in the shower pan. - disco music ran mindlessly the whole time - only felt scared once when loud teenagers were making noise elsewhere in the locker room. - the changing stalls has 3-foot stools. How are you going to tie your shoes when sitting on a 3-foot stool? Maybe they want you to change out by the locker (bring a lock); maybe there are proper benches there. - the place was clean (good), except for some 'accumulation' on the shower drain. (Maybe bring your own handful of paper towels to empty the shower drain before shower?) It takes some getting used to, but for a 1st time ever, it went reasonably well and would use again if didn't have a home shower to use. (There are a lot of people in the Van Life/RV community that use Planet Fitness to take showers at.)

Just would like today express my gratitude for management at this location. He has been such an amazing person with when I first came in to the gym till I left the gym. I believe his name is Aaron. He walked me through every step to being a member, to working till I left. He answered all my questions and concerns. He made me feel welcomed and comfortable and wanted in such a very little time. I'm grateful for people like him! Thank you to PF for giving us amazing workers. I do have a small concern to the gym not having a fitness trainer but Aaron did explain the app and options on the app for the virtual trainers and workout classes. This gym and the atmosphere has really been better then my time at blink. Thank you.

By far the worst gym I have ever been to. This place has a high theft issue. They encourage their customers to bring locks to keep their belongings safe but 90% of their lockers are broken making it impossible to secure their belongings. I noticed they also have a rodent issue, this past week there were multiple sightings of roaches in the locker room making it unsanitary and uncomfortable to be in. Furthermore, the staff has a time and attendance issue where the gym has not opened on time on multiple occasions.

Planet Fitness in Sunset Park is an affordable, convenient place on Fifth Avenue to workout. The hours are amazing, it opens early and closes pretty late. For $20 a month you can bring a guest every time. It’s much cheaper than the Y or Crunch, and the guest policy is very generous. The gym is clean and has a variety of machines available. I love the bikes with videos of biking trails. The staff are friendly and helpful. The only thing I would change is that even with black membership, you have to ask staff at the front every time you want to use the massage chairs, and they only give you a small amount of time to use them, even if the gym is empty. They should allow you to swipe your card at the machine or give you more time to use them. Thank you for considering this idea, and creating a great space to workout. I love coming here.

Overall this planet fitness is very good environment. Offering a variety of equipment and lots of spacing. The only thing is that most of the time it’s always packed which makes it hard to find equipment without having to wait for quite a some time . But the place is very clean and well organized.

There's no better example of how little the staff care about keeping their facility neat and organized than the fact that the area right behind the front desk can't even be kept clean, with the weights out of order or just stewn around on the ground. The upstairs weight room is a disgrace. Dumbbells tossed in a corner, left lying next to benches, or put back in the wrong spot if they were reracked at all. Loaded bars left lying around the floor. The clientele should be ashamed of themselves for having the worst gym etiquette I've ever experienced. Don't get me wrong. But it's the employees that should be embarrassed as well. I watched today as they walked around pretending to do work while ignoring weights that had been lying around, not cleaned up for the entire time I was there. Multiple pairs of dumbells and a loaded bar were left on the ground, untouched, and they were there when I started my workout and still there when I left. I watched staff walk right past them, pretending not to notice. Shameful, unacceptable behavior from clientele and staff.

This gym is very bad. When you first sign up for a membership, they didn't clearly inform you that in addition to the monthly gym fee, you also need to pay a gym maintenance fee of $62! And you can't cancel or refund! And if you don't renew the contract after the contract expires, you have to pay a cancellation fee of $20! The key is that they didn't tell you anything when you first signed up for the membership! This makes me very angry! I hope that everyone who goes to sign up for a membership can ask more questions and read the contract more! Their front desk is not professional! They just want you to get the membership quickly and leave! They don't have patience! The service attitude is also very poor

Not too bad of a gym. Staff is super nice and helpful. Only problem is that a lot of the machines get broken fast and take a while to get fixed. Also, there’s no dumbbells on the bottom floor and the 3rd floor is always super packed with people who can be rude if they think you’re disturbing their work out by asking how many sets they have left. The manager should help solve these problems. At least the dumbbells should be added on the ground floor.

Friendly, conscientious staff. Lots of power racks and one is different than the usual you see so nice variety. There's a lifting platform too and they have bumper plates and plenty of bars. A wonderful strength training gym. Sometimes people clog the equipment and hog dumbbells and don't work out as if they have a purpose but the etiquette issues are not as bad as other monthly casual gyms, blink or otherwise. This is def my fave Blink and a great gym. I love climbing down stairs after heavy squats for water. You really have to want it here. Amazing

I canceled my membership October 2022. I paid the cancellation fee in person and called afterward to confirm my membership was canceled. It is almost 2 years later & this company is STILL charging me, even though I canceled, haven’t been to the gym, & have called them countless times to fix this issue. It has been an absolute nightmare. I would stay far away!

The first time I’ve visited this gym was 2021. Since then, they’ve expanded the space and dedicated the space to free weights, machines, and barbells which definitely makes it worth the membership. Whether you’re coming to lift weights or box, they cater to both demographics. The boxing coaches are all helpful and from what I’ve experienced, they tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. Amazing place with a supportive community to make a change in your life.

Both the Staten Island and Brooklyn locations are wonderful! This old school gym offers boxing at the advanced through beginner levels with excellent coaching and friendly staff, always. This gym is also involved and invested in the community offering free boxing classes for youth every Thursday. The staff really care about promoting the sport as well as promoting health and fitness through their passion, boxing. Would recommend to anyone!
