I'm a regular member at Planet Fitness This is one of my favorite locations so far in New York city ( Great location! ) I like to use all the equipments which PF offers for customers . Also, I don't have to wait too long to take turns with others when it's packed The fitness is clean, but the male bathroom is sometimes hygienic. I usually smell "BO" body odor or smell from the toilets and I need PF to improve the scent and cleanliness inside the male bathroom, please The air conditioning is great temperature not too hot or cold. The lockers are plenty The staffs are attentive if you need helps

I had to leave the gym because it was really hard to exercise there. People use multiple pieces of equipment at the same time, even during peak hours, and management does care. Water fountains were constantly broken. Yeah, it is cheap, but what is the point if you have to constantly be in line to wait to exercise.

This place is amazing, kept clean but at the same time has a strong smell of sweat. It’s a gym yes understandable but it’s still quite strong. Employees are second to none, I came in a day where there were only two employees on duty sometimes even one and they still keep the whole gym running mainly Poala and Ra. both exceptional employees, my brother comes here as well also saying the same things I have said in this review, and I agree. Overall still an amazing area for a gym. Thank you for all your hard work.

Quality equipment but terrible clientele. It is rare these days that I see people clean their equipment after using it. I think PF should penalize people who don’t clean their equipment after using it. Many people also hog machines and equipment (especially the Smith machines— I’ve worked out here for two years and have gotten to use them maybe twice) to the point that I usually can’t finish my workouts without spending upwards of an hour here. Gym staff really needs to do more to enforce a positive community here— maybe have staff monitor customers and enforce rules about hogging equipment and not cleaning it?

I’ve been to many locations but this one is by far the best location in New York City. Not too crowded and more than enough equipments usually available. You don’t have to wait a long time to use one equipment. The staff are very friendly too.

I have been a member of this gym for a while and I said no more! There is no supervision of children in the weight and machine area, as well as no supervision of older people using these machines. The air conditioning is horrible, you never feel it, it is so uncomfortable to exercise in the heat. The bathrooms look old and dirty. There are machines that have been damaged for a long time and they do not fix them. To clean your machine, the times are that you do not get the paper to clean. Pay $80 for a membership to this gym, for much less you can get something better. It is a disappointment to be a member of this gym and see how decadent and little attention is paid to the infrastructure.

I recently got a membership for the L.I.C. YMCA and so far it has been a great experience! The staff and members are very friendly. Its a very nice atmosphere and located in a convenient location. Also has a parking lot, I never had issues finding parking.(its an extra fee with the membership but worth it) Tho alot of people join the YMCA, its not extremely crowded. The pool is spacious and well maintained, the locker rooms are clean. I mainly joined the Y to have access to a pool year round and happy I found a nice pool to go to not too far from my home and job.

I had a terrible experience at the YMCA. The staff is beyond unfriendly — it’s like they go out of their way to be rude. Every interaction felt like I was inconveniencing them, and they made no effort to help or be welcoming. It’s honestly baffling how they work in a customer-facing environment. From the front desk , the attitude is the same: uninterested, dismissive, and occasionally downright hostile. It’s not just one bad day either — I’ve been there multiple times, hoping it would get better, but nope. If you’re looking for a place where you feel comfortable and supported, avoid this YMCA. There are better gyms where the staff actually cares about their members.

My kids just came back from teen swim and they were harassed by a lifeguard who is hispanic mid 40’s with mustache. Told my 17 year old daughter she is 30 and a grown women who can’t be in the pool for teen swim. She told him she can show her permit that shows she is underage and can be in the pool. And then proceeded to tell her no and then told my 15 year old son that he looks 25. And only talked to them in Spanish when they were talking to him in English. This happened on 06/06/24. Also there is people who dress inappropriately at the gym but the workers dont say nothing. This man is wearing boxers to workout to the gym where there are a kids!!!!!

I signed up the whole family and took swim lessons. I had a good experience in terms of the gym. Great gym to work out in. Especially appreciate the indoor track there. Unless you are willing to pay for parking the parking is hard but otherwise good experience here

This is the most centrally located, multi discipline (lead, boulder, and TR), high quality (good setting, large lead cave, tall walls, interesting angles, and a thoughtful layout) climbing gym in NYC. Now under new ownership, previously The Cliffs, this gym still breeds great climbers and an inclusive social environment. I’d say it has a better lead cave than Gowanus and typically hosts more experienced climbers as it’s an older gym, but doesn’t have a sauna or as extensive bouldering as Gowanus.

It is great climbing for all ages Edit, I’ve been climbing here for 3 years now and I have the same problem, all the team kids skip the lines and DONT SHARE THE WALL. Not only that the staff don’t care about it which is really annoying. Also the mini fridge is never fully stocked up. Also ever since the gym became “movement” the staff got more rude, the food and drink stock went down, the simple first aid stuff disappeared, and more kids would run around unsupervised, Please fix this

Often come here, but the main factor between going here or Gowanus is the locker situation -- often the big lockers are taken, so I have to push my work stuff and shoes into a small locker which isn't great. There's also not a lot of floor or bench space, so it's uncomfortable to get situated when arriving / leaving. A lot of people also leave their shoes under the bench, and it's not great to navigate around since they're in the walking areas. I would totally come here more if there were an upgrade to the lockers.

The Cliffs LIC is a great all-around climbing gym. There’s plenty of bike parking out front and there’s even an indoor bike room right by the entrance when you walk in. There are locker rooms (don’t forget to bring a lock) that also have bathrooms and showers. After checking in (you’ll need to take a belay test if you don’t yet have a Cliffs belay certification card or take one of their classes to learn), you’ll be greeted by an IMMENSE top roping space. It’s literally jaw-dropping. I’ve never seen higher indoor climbing walls and there’s an incredible number of climbs. There are also about 8 auto-belay climbs on the left side of the facility. There’s a decent sized bouldering wall that has varying degrees of climbs, including a cave, and there’s also a small extra bouldering wall on the second floor. There’s a store on the first floor that sells all sorts of climbing gear. The second floor has a small weight lifting gym area and climbing finger board, and there’s also some elliptical and treadmill machines up on the second floor by the small extra bouldering wall. Overall, the Cliffs LIC is a sprawling facility with friendly staff and you’ll have a great climbing day if you ever stop by. I highly recommend.

TLDR: if you’re new and want to explore bouldering, this is NOT the place to go. We’ve heard good things about this gym but it does not lived up to expectations. Yesterday my friend and I decided to try out a day pass. When we got there one of the employees asked us if we needed gear and, being new to all this, asked them if they meant shoes. I was taken aback when they responded with “yes shoes and chalk” in a demeaning tone. I was only asking a clarifying question because this is an unfamiliar activity for us! Since we had athletic shoes (not knowing climbing shoes were different) we said there was no need for shoes and I proceeded to ask where we could get our harness from. They looked at me and goes “I literally just asked you if you needed gear and you said no”. I asked a few more questions about what we could do here given we do not have licenses and she vaguely directed me to a beginners area with an irritated voice. We are both new and no one gave us the lay of the land and felt so lost. Any time we asked questions she was unhelpful and condescending. We felt very unwelcomed at this gym and are hesitant to return given the absolutely terrible experience we’ve gone through. Do want to give some credit to our fellow climbers — one lady was super kind and walked us through what the employee should have.
