Best Gyms with Cardio Machines near Hawthorne, New-jersey

By far the most updated Planet fitness location I’ve been to. You’re greeted by the young gentleman at the front desk. Their sign up station was decorated to the season. Everywhere was so clean. The machines are new. There are two levels to this location. My favorite location so far.

Planet Fitness is one of the most predatory gyms out there. I have been trying to cancel my membership for 2 years. I was told I could only cancel in person or if I sent a letter. I sent a letter they said they never received it. I had moved out of state I flew back to go to the gym and they said only a manager can cancel accounts. I asked when the manager would be in, I came back when the manager was there and they refused to come see me. I finally got in touch with corporate they made a case and never got back to me. I called again they said there’s no record of you call. I now have a case number and still no resolution. Do not join a gym that doesn’t make canceling as easy as signing up. This is a criminal practice. I cannot warn people enough don’t sign up for this or any planet fitness.

This is the nicest Planet Fitness I've ever been to. The gym is always clean, the equipment is fully up to date, and staff is always friendly. As someone with social anxiety, it was nice to be able to express my concerns to staff that are attentive and nonjudgmental. Francis and Chris in particular were incredibly helpful the last time I needed help adjusting my membership. They are a big part of what makes this location's environment so welcoming. Working out feels a lot less like a chore when I'm at the Hawthorne Planet Fitness.

I had a very embarrassing and bad experience. From desk refuse to check me & friend in because I didn’t have my phone one me. I left my phone home. I had to have my phone and app in order to check me in bring a black card member. I had to leave go home in a torrential downpour to get my phone to check in. Mean questioning my co worker who am I. While I was out. Like really. One of Front desk customer service jobs is to check members in. Not ask to ask to download an app in Oder to check in or when're your phone It’s a person choice if they want to have the app or not on there phone. I have been to many gyms all over the US and never had such a bad experience over something so small as to a check in. 45 minutes during all this. so end my membership like the manager said there 3 sides to every story. What do I have to lie about. Just done with Pf never again.

This is a very personal experience - I did not really like this location because I am disabled and many machines were hard to use and balance on, unlike the older machines at my regular location, The upstairs was very crowded and actually intimidating, unlike what they are going for. Machines seemed packed in there However, the massage creates were fantastic and the newer bikes were smoother. I likely will not be returning here, which annoys me because of the location's proximity to a regular appointment. Again, this is a very personal experience. I will say, for the injured, older and recovering, I do not recommend this location.
