I called and asked if the indoor basketball courts were open to play, and they said yes, first come, first serve. But when we arrived at the park, the girl at the front desk told us each had to pay $5 dollars per adult and $4 dollars for teens. They have 2 courts, and 4 teams were playing. It was at least 10 adults waiting to play. It was not guaranteed to play. My husband and I were just here to watch my teen son, and they wanted us to pay to watch.

The restrooms need to be clean. In the gym, the mats are so old. They had those a long time ago, its disgusting. As a positive point, the group classes are excellent.

Vending machine in the gym stole my 2 bucks. As much as it had a sign saying “no cash” it was on the side of the vending machine making it not visible to me and my friend. The vending machines should not just except card especially as a high-school student most people at the local high school don’t have the privilege to have a credit card. The people working told us they couldn’t do anything just call the number on the vending machine but they should’ve had the sign more visible to people and could’ve covered the cash dispenser giving others the know of it not working. The worker didn’t even offer to help or talk to the number.

I believe in a fairness when forming these reviews. The South Gate Park Sporting Center is a unique area upon entering. Staff do not seem interested in who enters the building, rather seem more focus in thier own conversations. When approaching the gym you notice two areas. One for free wieghts and another for all other activities. It's insane having so much equipment in a tiny room; movement is a challenge. There are no fountains nearby, the equipment is left to be clean depending on the person who used it previously. The people are respectful, and for that I am grateful. But when signin up for a membership I notice they prefer to hold the customers card. A red flag on my end, but nevertheless if my account shows any signs of suspicious activity I will most definitely file a lawsuit. Pros: Respectful people, equipment is all functional Cons: Dirty equipment, limited space
