I just had an incredible session with William at the lifetime spa, and I can’t recommend him enough! He really listened to my body, focusing on areas of concern and working tension and stress out in ways I hadn’t experienced before. I felt he was fully tuned into what I needed, creating a personalized experience that went beyond just a massage. After the session, he took the time to suggest at-home exercises to help me continue working on those areas. It was a genuinely holistic and thoughtful approach, and I feel so much better! Highly recommend William if you’re looking for a massage therapist who truly cares and goes the extra mile.

One of the best spots in NYC! This has quickly become our favorite. The studio spaces are top-notch, and the facility is well-maintained and very nice. While the gym area looks a bit older compared to the 23rd Street location with its newer equipment, there's plenty of space and equipment available. It's a cozy, modern place that's never too crowded. Plus, their acai bowl is a hidden gem—better than many places in other parts of Manhattan!

It's a nice gym but looks like management does not care. Hydromassage chair is broken for a few weeks. Cycling studio bikes are partially broken and despite reminding the front desk they don't get fixed. I take cycling classes and noticed classes keeps disappearing on the calendar one by one perhaps to save money. I was a member at dumbo location and it has way more classes and better gym .time to switch to equinox

This is my favorite Lifetime. It's well designed, tons of classes, equipment, terrific instructors, convenient for trains, etc. What sets it apart, however, is how well managed it is. I've observed an unusual pattern; employees who work there are happy/content. I know not just because I see it; I've also asked them. That vibe trickles down into everything else - including member experience. I think this is likely attributable to the person who runs this location (Michael C). He is well-liked and respected by staff and members. He's a natural leader; the elusive kind that truly cares and somehow keeps everyone happy while managing to also be the calm ship's captain in sometimes stormy waters. Achieving that in NYC - the pinnacle of difficult personalities / high stakes - is no easy task...

I go to Lifetime one wall all the time - Friendly staff and great facilities/classes. Ron, Mary and Alejandro are fantastic class instructors alongside Will who is brilliant for massages in lifespa. Everyone is highly knowledgeable about exercises and effective recovery.

Pros: Staff were nice to me. They speak English only so if you cannot speak English use google translate! Very good security. I felt safe in there. Women bathroom door locks so no one will walk in. Gym and sport facility was top notch!! Great coffee shops near by. Disliked · Think insane asylum decor. Smells like a stinky wet dog in the room. Bunked needs to be bolted to the wall cause you hear squeekin everytime someone moves. Room was extremely hot. Doors need to be painted a cheerful color they are all scrapped and brown color. The hallways are sad looking. Shower low pressure Luke warm.

My first time staying here & at first was kind of a culture shock but I learned to truly enjoy the experience. Next to Central Park, YMCA westside is A beautiful 1928 Architectural icon Hostel hotel; Loved the location, love the pricing, Worked around the bathroom situation. The pool area & locker room was a definite bonus and the workout room was appreciated At no additional cost. Do bring your own personal appliances as there are none on site. But sooo many places to see and eat at within walking distance. Would absolutely do.it again.

Great location, mins walk to Central Park, Columbus circle and Subway station. 15mins walk to Times Square and every other attractions nearby. 20mins walk to the MET and AMNH. If you expect this is a star rank hotel, it will fail to reach ur expectations, however if you think this is a university dormitory, the facilities will fit the requirement. This an affordable, comfortable and safety property not only in West side but entire Manhattan! The property have around ten private bathrooms at the floor of semi-private bathroom room, and you can easy access to the view of Central Park from the windows, it also comes with bottle filling machine which can save ur bottle.

Here are the lyrics to the iconic song "Y.M.C.A." by the Village People: Young man, there's no need to feel down I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town There's no need to be unhappy Young man, there's a place you can go I said, young man, when you're short on your dough You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find Many ways to have a ball It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A Young man, are you listening to me? I said, young man, come on and take a plea You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal You can do whatever you feel Young man, I was once in your shoes I said, young man, I was down with the blues I felt no man cared if I were alive I felt the whole world was so jive That's when someone came up to me And said, "Young man, take a walk up the street" There's a place there called the Y-M-C-A They can help you, but you've got to be brave It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A Y-M-C-A, it's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A Y-M-C-A, it's fun to stay

Equinox Sports Club is absolutely top-notch! The facility is spacious, immaculately clean, and packed with state-of-the-art features, including an incredible rock climbing wall that’s a must-try. A special shout-out to Alexander, who works on the climbing wall. He’s quick, attentive, and incredibly kind, making the climbing experience smooth and enjoyable for everyone. Also, a big thank you to David for his expert stretching sessions—they’ve been a game-changer for my recovery. This is hands down my new favorite fitness destination. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a premium experience!

Staff is inconsiderate and lacks basic customer service skills. I've had better experiences at Planet Fitness. I would not recommend using Equinox. There's simply no way the membership fees are worth the exorbitant price.

I love Equinox, but for one overriding, and scary, factor. The lifeguards and management that enable them don't care about your safety. The lifeguards are preoccupied with their own entertainment; they sit on a chair amusing themselves on their phones, heads down fixed on their screens, rather than looking at the swimmers they are paid to watch. Some of them sit and do their homework. Others sit and read a book. One weekend lifeguard was transfixed on his screen, streaming what appeared to be a movie. At least two wear AirPods, or other ear pieces which all but ensure that they don't hear swimmers. This means that the employees whose job it is to guard swimmers don't see them because they are not looking at them, and they don't hear them because their hearing is compromised. Management has been alerted to this repeated times, but the problems persist. Even new lifeguards seem untrained for the task. One new lifeguard sat gabbing away on his phone while swimmers swam in the wrong direction in their lane. It's as if the guards start their shift and say to themselves "great, now I have time to sit here, go through my emails, write texts and otherwise have fun." They are getting paid to guard against potentially fatal accidents, yet they fail to do their job and leave swimmers at risk.

Very vertical but equipment-packed. Everything here including open squat racks almost any time. 130lb dumbbells. Tons of cardio. Haven't seen the place packed, but haven't been here in the after-work hours. Great workouts every time.

I've been a member on-and-off since 2004 (when it was the Reebok Club) and a member of various gyms (including other equinox clubs) since I was a teenager. I have NEVER seen filth or mismanagement on the level I've seen since rejoining the Sports Club in 2023. The locker rooms are filthy and unstaffed. Previously there was always one person upstairs and another 2 downstairs during busy hours. Now maybe there is one person for 3 floors. There are always dirty towels everywhere. On one occasion, a dirty pair of underwear was on the floor for at least an hour, another a large, dead cockroach lying by the jacuzzi. The hairdryers are so weak they couldn't blow out a candle. Several hairdryers have been "out-of-service" for months as has at least one shower. Then, there was the day TWO MONTHS ago when I opened a shower door to discover dirty takeout containers, utensils and towels in the stall. The same day dirty, wet towels were also all around the locker, steam room and sauna. I complained to the front desk and in writing to management. Still waiting to hear back. I've emailed the GM multiple times with NO response other than a AGM thanking me for "policing the locker room since he can't". Wait, they have no female employees able to enter the locker room to see it's filthy and lacking towels??? Are they unaware that they have nobody staffing the locker rooms. There are also frequently people in the spa area who are clearly not members (you can tell because they have all their belongings including their purses and phones nearby and sleep on the lounge chairs). This in addition to people talking on speakerphone in the locker room. Of course there are no attendants to tell them that phones are a no-no in the locker room and spa. The club's hours were so truncated Thanksgiving weekend that it was impossible to get to the gym for a workout. This was unlike every other gym in the city that had holiday hours on Thanksgiving and normal ones the rest of the weekend. When I arrived, the locker room was filthy, there were no towels, dirty/wet towels were everywhere including the steam room, sauna, benches in locker room. The lifeguard (is he even a certified lifeguard?) was unaware that since the club closed at 4, the pool would be closed a half hour earlier and offered me a lane reservation at 3:30 (when the pool would be closed). I gave up and went home since without towels, I couldn't even take a shower. If this were a one-time issue, I'd be upset, but it's ongoing. I rejoined because I had fond memories of the well-kept facility, loved the classes and instructors and was able to swim. That is a distant memory. Now there are significantly fewer classes, they aren't consistent (no more same class, same instructor 2 or 3x/week at the same time) and none in the afternoon (in ye olde days there was at least a mid-afternoon yoga class). The classes aren't very good and don't create the community that I enjoyed previously as a member. The few that are worth taking fill up within 2 minutes of opening in the app. When I told an instructor that I was just getting back in shape after an illness and asked if I needed a mat, she nastily replied "only if you need it for emotional support." Another class had truly awful sped-up muzak. When I asked about it, the instructor said she doesn't listen to it, only picks out playlists that have the right beat. A terrible experience. Wildly expensive ($350/month). Total ripoff.

Really love this Y. We’ve been coming here for 3 years now. Our child has been in the swim program and progressed from fearful to swimming on her own. Instructor are very efficient. They have the children progressing through all the skills and constantly moving. The swimming instructors are also very patient and kind. The Open Houses are good fun and all the staff are really wonderful.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT JOIN THIS YMCA location. Ghetto! Ghetto! Ghetto! Steam room is always out of service. The pool lift is never working. Locker room #nasty homeless people hanging out in front.. The customer service is horrible. I wish I’ve chosen a different location. Corporate should make this location a homeless shelter. Ugh 😣 thank me later

I am only posting on the fitness area. I love the facility and the vibe. Weightroom is a bit cramped but people make it work. It’s in an awesome, historic part of Harlem.

Great stay with friendly staff. The rooms are small, but the bunk beds were neat and the room was clean. There are shared bathrooms, but those are clean as well. The key cards, however, worked whenever they wanted to, so that may be something that can be addressed. Otherwise great stay!

The lifetime of sky is really nice especially in the pool where you can view the skyline from the pool. And every person was very friendly nice and nice staff. My only problem was I wish the spa area whirlpool and sauna Steemroom and cold plunge were in locker rooms.

Disclaimer: NO (free or metered) PARKING ANYWHERE. One of the behemoth gyms that make LifeTime not only worth it but a good deal. Outdoor sky pool, very nice cafe layout, basketball, etc. biggest problem is- who is it for? Locals. Super local. Like west of 9th Avenue. With no nearby subway and zero parking (tried for 40 minutes) you’re forced to garage your car for obviously a small nyc fortune just to use the gym making it not accessible. Parking right in front is plentiful but despite no signs, everyone said you’d be towed. Long story short- anyone who isn’t ok with walking a long distance to get here, avoid. This is the Tantalus of LifeTimes.

This place makes you feel like you can touch the Sky! The fitness floor is state of the art, classes are INCREDIBLE, the spa is lovely, the workspace is top notch, and don’t even get me started on the skydeck. The facilities are amazing, but the employees are really what make this place special. The team is tight knit and here to make your experience a fantastic one. I may be biased because I am a yoga teacher here, but I can honestly say that I love the people who I work with along with the members and completely support the company.

+One of the better quality gyms around the Hudson Yards area. +Good indoor pool and great indoor basketball court. Outdoor pool area is also very nice. +Nice wet room setup with sauna and cold plunge. +Decent amount of squad racks +Generally very clean and well looked after throughout +Kind staff -Weight area is one of the smallest I have seen for a gym of this size which is a major drawback. It gets very busy at rush hours and they only have two bench presses, two cross-cable machines and only two places to do neutral grip or wide-angled pull-ups which are almost never empty. -Weight plates are few and far in between. Same as dumbbells. The setup of the whole weights floor feels like it was an afterthought, not very functional. -Sauna temperature barely hits 180 which is not great if you are after the health benefits that are often researched on saunas at 180+. Also worth noting sauna seating is a single level near the floor and it has a high ceiling which means temperature at where you sit is likely lower than shown. -Access to outdoor pool requires an extra seasonal fee which is not cheap. -Locker room/bathroom area is very small for the amount of members who use this branch, has low ceiling which makes the place feel even smaller. Overall, if you live/work in the area, it is an ok option if most of what you do is classes/cardio. If you focus on strength training and lifting weights, it unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired.

Turkish Hammam and cold plunge are incredible!!! Rachel, taught a sweaty, intense Flow yoga class that was challenging and fun! cooling off in the cold plunge after a heated yoga class was a perfect combination! the rooftop pool was not available to use, even with my diamond membership. something about an agreement with the condos neighborhood association, and it's an additional pool pass. they wanted me to pay $100 for a day pass! but it wasn't on top of a skyscraper like the photos imply. it's on the eleventh floor of the building and the residences go up higher in a separate tower. pool didn't seem that exciting to be honest. just a shallow leisure pool. (our outdoor pool at home is better with waterslides and fountains and lap lanes.) so.... check out the Turkish Hammam....

t’s really big, and I like the high ceilings, basketball courts, and rock climbing wall. The hot tub could be less green and hotter. The place really needs some TLC—it could be much cleaner. I mean, the 63rd Street location makes the 61st Street one look like a rundown subway station bathroom m.

I feel compelled to share my experience at Equinox on 61st Street, as I believe it’s important for potential members to be aware of the concerning conditions I encountered there. Despite the gym's ample space, it is in a state of neglect that raises serious health concerns. During my visits, I noticed significant mold growth in the men’s locker room, particularly on the carpet, which is alarming. Additionally, the steam room consistently emitted an unpleasant odor, making it an uncomfortable and potentially hazardous environment. Such conditions can pose health risks that should not be overlooked. I was a regular member for nearly three years, but as time went on, the unpleasantness of the gym became too much to bear. Since I stopped going, I’ve noticed a remarkable improvement in my health. I used to suffer from frequent urinary tract infections and ongoing sinus issues, both of which have vanished since I left the facility. Given these observations, I genuinely believe that Equinox on 61st Street should undergo a thorough inspection to address these issues. Health and safety should always come first, and I hope this review encourages others to consider their wellbeing when choosing a gym.

It’s really disgusting how pretty much all the men jumping in The Jacuzzi here do it in the gym shorts with no liner or just their Briefs! and don’t shower before entering and the attendant says nothing. It’s all the menwho are playing basketball too so they come in sweaty already, so disrespectful to the women here and the people who care about hygiene And the color of the jacuzzi water after prime basketball time is so dark and murky I feel like it’s a health hazard and I’m going to notify the health department cause this in unacceptable for a gym of this magnitude and Price. Not to mention the boiler is broken and they don’t notify the memeber via email or anything. half the time and the internet never works too. Just a real disappointment

I’m so torn with this place. Has so much more than other Equinox locations in the city (steam room AND sauna, expansive gym floor, roof “terrace”, pool, hot tub) but there is a difference between older design and woefully dated. This location is the latter. I understand that it is an enormous location with massive upkeep and renovation costs but this gym is begging to be gutted. The terrace is just an unfinished roof with chairs, bathroom/locker area is under maintained, and showers are straight out of a prison. The location/roof deck is fantastic but it’s calling out for a better gym!

This place is the pinnacle of gyms. It's eight stories tall with rooftop access to an amazing view. Also on the roof are lounge chairs and a cafe. Other amenities include: basketball and squash quarts, boxing, cycling, yoga, swimming pool, hot tub, dry sauna, steam sauna, and another cafe at the ground level. The gym also has an exceptional personal training staff. All of whom are well educated and certified.
