Our family has paid full price for a membership every month for several years, including through the pandemic, when fewer facilities were available for understandable reasons. We have gotten less and less for our money as time goes on. Plus the YMCA summer camps we've sent my son to cost more, and provide fewer planned activities and less supervision, than other summer day camps he has attended over the years. First the outdoor pool at Lionville, which is one of the main reasons we joined, was only accessible with an extra charge. Then the outdoor pool at Lionville closed permanently, but fortunately our membership still included outdoor pools at other branches. The last straw was today when I brought my son's friend to the outdoor pool at West Chester and learned that he could not use the outdoor pool as part of one of the guest passes included in our membership. This would cost $25 and would only cover one day. I had asked about this specific scenario at the Lionville branch and was told he'd be covered by one of our guest passes. I paid the $25 but my husband and I have decided not to renew our membership after this. We can no longer justify the nickel and diming and diminishing benefits of membership.

We were erroneously billed for over a year of membership ($500+). Following my son's completion of a class, I had a conversation with the front desk about cancellation. Subsequently, I checked online and confirmed that my account had no membership. However, they sneakily placed the membership under my child's account (not actually accessible by my child), which was not visible under the parent account. We had assumed the membership had been cancelled, and have been billed monthly ever since. We only recently discovered this, not from the online account (as no membership was listed), but from my credit card statement. The only way I could then infer on the website that we had a membership was because it would not allow me to remove my credit card information (as it was "linked" to an account). Very sneaky practices, and not the way to treat what they refer to as their "valued" customers, especially minors.

The indoor pool is heated, which my son really likes. The locker rooms are clean. We also like that all of the local y's are working together, so when you become a member at one, you can get into any of them. We wish the outdoor pool in West Chester was more affordable, but it is worth it if you go often. Summer camps are also worth going to - there are a lot of fun themes and activities.

I am so frustrated with this location! They told me that the membership that i have with ymca is not valid for this location. How is this possible. Every single Ymca accept the membership from my insurance , but this location accepts the membership from my insurance only if i am more than 65 years old and only if i use only the indoor facility. What does it mean? What about the parking lot, i should pay for the parking lot because is outdoor the facility??? This is the weirdest thing that i have ever heard. Why my insurance told me that i can use EVERY benefit of the membership on EVERY location of the YMCA , and now this location tell me that i can use only the indoor facility and not outside the facility.

Very impressive interior, amazing lighting, friendly staff, and bathrooms are well maintained. My only gripe is that some machines are very old, outdated, not well maintained, or out of order. However, some of those maintenance issues can also be attributed to the clientele, rather than management or staff. But with that said, and considering the gym has only been open for a few months, I still highly recommend this gym to anyone in the area. I see a bright future for this facility.

honestly the new gym is great loving every minute of it but i just had some information i feel is worth sharing. nothing is intended to be bad or negative on the gym and its not even fully open yet so stuff definitely will change. This is also all personal opinion and ive tried out a lot of different equipment all across the country and have pretty high standards go check it out yourself! Leg section - honestly love every bit of it pieces are great love the new mega mass pieces and the old school cybex pieces just missing a traditional ab/adductor machine. Overall 10/10. Back - some great selections but definitely missing some stuff. 4 chest supported rows seems a bit overkill 2 of which are very very similar. As well as 3 bent over rows none of which are a tbar definitely a huge piece i feel should be in every gym. 2 of the bent over rows are also practically the same as well. Would love to see a solid pullover machine make its way in the gym eventually. Overall 6.5/10 Chest- Man the chest press selections are great no complaints at all. Just a little unsure on the two incline fly machines vs one pec dec. Not sure what the brand these are but in my personal opinion the rom is a little akward dont see too many people on these either. not a huge fan of these but MY PERSONAL OPINION doesnt matter go try it out yourself. Overall 8/10 Shoulders/Arms - Some solid shoulder presses could go for a standing lat raise but ive been spoiled by many gyms definitely not needed. Really smooth overhead tricep and preacher curl machines Overall 9.5/10 Cables/Attachments - All really smooth got everything you need cybex stack with the back pad is extra points only seen this out in denver Overall 11/10. Cardio - No stair masters and 3 treadmills is a little lacking to me especially during busy hours nice amount of bikes 5/10. Extras - solid posing room and nice amount of platforms and fatpad benches for all the powerlifters. Smith machine is a little wonky and uneven kinda dissapointing. No hate at all. The staff are all great people looking forward to seeing this place grow!

Owner Lou has been been running high- quality coaching clubs for over a decade. I’m amazed by the variety of training available here for so many kinds of people with different goals, - from grandparents staying fit for independence to gen Z competitive powerlifters. They even have specialty bars and extra toys for strongman competition training!

I was charged $20 for a key fob during the trial and it was never refunded to me by the gym. I had to open a dispute with my bank to simply get the money back as it was supposed to be refunded upon return of the fob, I ended my trial early. Lou called, nice enough guy, but the fact is that no refund was ever given and that’s pretty bad. Gym itself is small, advertises equipment that it doesn’t currently have to offer, aka some kind of hydro therapeutic machine. Also pretty expensive all things considered for the memberships they do offer.

I started going here because of the location, but stayed a member because of the care that's put into the facility. Lou and his staff have created a welcoming gym environment and help push you to achieve your goals. They go above and beyond, caring about each member's individual progress. I never saw myself as someone who would enjoy going to the gym, but after working with Lou and Pat as trainers to learn my way around the gym, I'm hooked. I 100% recommend this place to anyone, hands down!

Joined a week ago and have been absolutely loving it! Mike is super friendly and knowledgeable. I can tell from watching his training sessions that he has respect for all clients, and works with each one to achieve their goals. The equipment is top notch for both weights and cardio. I love the 24/7 aspect, as I enjoy working out in the early morning. There is never more than a few others working out the same time as me, but everyone is respectful and friendly. I would recommend this gym to anyone and look forward to working out each day!

This is a wonderful "hidden gem" of sorts. If you're sick of the big box gym experience and are looking for a trainer that knows their stuff, this is it. It's a smaller gym, but has all of the basics plus some specialized gear you won't see anywhere else. I never had to wait for a machine or weight bench. Payments and managing your account couldn't be easier, and having 24/7 access is a huge perk. Mike is an excellent trainer, and ironed out some of my biggest fitness questions in my first session. It's definitely a gym for people serious about their training, but it still feels very accessible at the same time. It's definitely worth stopping in to see if it's a good fit for you.

I began training with Mike almost a year ago and have seen dramatic results. Before meeting Mike, I was convinced I had all the answers in the gym. Boy, was I wrong! Mike helped transform my body into what I always wanted it to look like by taking simple principles he has carried with him in his 20+ years of training clients. Mike trains every type of person and is able to establish a plan that fits each and every persons needs. He is one of the best motivators I have ever met and I use him as a beacon throughout training. Mike is the only person I've ever met who is able to make a workout fun yet painful at the same time. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to make a change in their life for the better. Thanks Mike! As far as the gym goes, the equipment is top notch with everything you need and more. Not only is the gym nice, but there is no waiting for machines EVER. You simply cannot beat the price for what you're getting.

I was in the area for a little over a month and was looking for a gym that would let me do a one month membership. I called a few chains first and they gave me the run around about it. I found Q Fitness and The owner Mike is a super nice, down to earth guy and was more than happy to accommodate and I was extremely excited to hear that it’s also a 24/7 gym since my hours can be pretty crazy sometimes requiring me to go very early in the morning occasionally. The gym itself is awesome. I love a lot of the equipment, especially leg press, hack squat, specialty barbells like cambered Bench bar, chain attachments and much more. The gym is pretty low key usually when I’d be there (in the range of 5 am to 11 am usually) which was also really nice. The gym goers are all very friendly also. Overall, highly, highly recommend Q Fitness! If I’m working in the area again I will 100% be back!

Awesome gym never crowded no waiting for equipment and always clean. The personnel training by Mike is better than anybody I’ve ever trained with. He gets you motivated and makes it fun at the same time, actually makes you look forward to working out. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

After seeing the reviews and using the gym for 6 months, I thought I'd write a review. The owners are fabulous and extremely inclusive. They're not there outside of normal working hours as this is mainly a gym they use for their clients. The equipment may be older than your new local planet fitness but everything works perfectly. I only had one issue with a machine and it was just the extra 5 lb nob you can turn that wouldnt budge. The owner has helped me move weights a few times and it wasnt the one I paid to be my coach. The other users of the gym are extremely friendly and the men DO NOT bother you or stare for that matter. The parking lot is in a dark spot that may feel intimidating for women but the gym has good security and has no reported issues. I've asked the guys to help me use machines and they're all very nice. Scumbags dont come to this gym. I worked with Brian for 4 months. His workouts are worth every penny. I lost 25 lbs in 5 months. I have probably another 10 to lose until I would consider myself top notch fit. His meal plans weren't necessarily the best for me but he worked to continually adapt them until I felt like I was in a good place. We met biweekly and if I disappeared he always always always reached out. I loved this gym. Never an issue getting a machine, no one to bother you, nice people. I left the gym because I moved, otherwise I would have stayed.

I'd give it a 4.5/5 for equipment and 4/5 for the type of people that workout there. As far as personnel (employees) go I'd give it a solid 2. Although I've talked to both owners (Beau and Brian) before when I first got here, that is the only time I've ever experienced any interaction from them. Most of the business is revolved around personal training which is almost understandable but some type of interaction may make your own paying customers welcome at the gym on a daily basis. Brian doesn't seem to respect other customers that aren't doing his or someone else's personal training.

In mid-September 2018, I started working with Brian Chamberlain via online since I do not live in Pennsylvania. It is now the beginning of December and have decided to move on to another coach for the following reasons. Brian's coaching style is less to be desired. Bi-weekly check-ins became a check-in every 3 three weeks. If I would reach out to him, it was as if I was bothering him. I didn't feel like I was getting the support I needed as an athlete to take on a big challenge to compete. I asked for a refund early on, but he refused. I paid $650 for 16 weeks and was not impressed with his computer generated meal plans. Absolutely no thought behind what he was doing. I think he saw a way to make some money and decided to take advantage of me. He became very lazy in the 2 1/2 months that he was supposed to be coaching me. He's a thief. He'll take your money and promise a bunch of services to you. I'm hiring a real coach who actually cares about his athletes and has a track record to show for it. Just beware if you decide to hire him!

One of the coolest gyms in the West Chester area. Clean, lots of different equipment (turf, machines, free weights, Oly drop weights and racks. It’s not a typical gym but for those who want to workout in different capacities (Crossfit, lift, cardio, classes, personal training) this is the place for you. Plus it’s 24/7 and open during holidays (every holiday).

First it’s 24/7 making it convienent on holidays, early mornings or any time needing a workout. Gym is very unique and setup with turf for sleds, box jumps (rogue foam) and kettlebells to start. Full weights, machine weights, cable systems, oly (Olympic lift) racks and platforms. Full cardio equipment and a Jacobs ladder up stairs next to a full TRX setup with multiple stations. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly with a warm welcome every time. Only downside for some people might be it’s a little secluded location wise, but security cameras keep you safe at all times.

I have been to a number of gyms over the years but this is my first time experiencing CrossFit - and I’m hooked. Since joining in August, Brandywine CrossFit has become part of my weekly routine and has provided me the accountability with my fitness regime I have been looking for. The coaches are fantastic; encouraging , motivating and allow me to modify as I see fit. Even better is the community of members (all ages and fitness levels) who quickly welcome you.

Having been a member of various CrossFit communities over the years and a member of Brandywine CrossFit for almost 9 years, I can confidently say you won't find a better community. I have met some of my closest friends at BWCF and absolutely love seeing them day in and day out. The coaching staff is knowledgable and willing to work with you to help you reach your goals, no matter how big or small. Workouts can always be customized to your ability level or when you're rehabbing an injury. The gym itself is a great size and in a great location. Highly recommend Brandywine CrossFit for anyone trying to improve their overall health and fitness!

Brandywine CrossFit is an amazing gym with an even better community of people!! Coaches Luke and Nick are always pushing us to the next level and I love that the workouts are different every day. An hour goes by in an instant and it’s always fun. I love how everything can be scaled for fitness level as well as size, which was really important to me being a small framed female. The atmosphere is super supportive and encouraging no matter if it’s your first day or your 100th. I am so glad I joined!
