I’ve been a member of Equinox for pretty long time, and I’m extremely frustrated with the recent experience I’ve had with their billing and customer service. I requested to freeze my membership for one month, as per the terms of my agreement, but was still charged the full price for that month. Despite reaching out to the gym’s management multiple times to request a refund, they have refused to correct the issue or issue a refund, even though it was clearly their error. I’ve always been happy with the gym's facilities and services, but this lack of responsiveness and failure to honor the freeze terms has been incredibly disappointing. I expect better from a company of this caliber, and I would caution anyone considering a membership to be aware of how they handle billing discrepancies. I’m considering taking further action to resolve this, but it’s been a frustrating and time-consuming process.

The gym is big and has a good variety of equipments, despite that I’m unsure if it’s worth the 300+ membership. The pool is always crowded and many swimmers don't wear caps. The front desk lady was pretty rude and unhelpful, the worst I dealt with compared to all other sf locations

This gym is enormous! They have all the latest equipment and keep this location incredibly clean. I love they have weights in 2.5lb increments (22.5lb and 27.5lb dumbbells)! It’s very spacious and the equipment is placed strategic for many types of workouts.

I came into this club with high expectations but unfortunately had a disappointing experience with the front desk staff. I arrived on a Tuesday evening at 7 PM and explained that I wanted to tour the location because I was considering switching my active membership from the Berkeley club ($226/month) to this club ($305/month with a corporate discount). However, the staff member informed me that, due to the club’s different tier, I couldn’t do a walkthrough on my own and would need to meet with a membership advisor. When I asked if a manager was available to assist, I was told there was none. I then asked if he could simply switch my membership on the spot so I could use the gym immediately. His response? “I can’t do that; you need to meet with a membership advisor.” This made no sense—why would switching an active membership require a manager or advisor? All that’s needed is to adjust which club bills me and the associated cost. To make matters worse, he suggested I pay $45 for a day pass to use the gym. Paying for a day pass at a gym where I’m already a paying member, shelling out $226/month, is absurd. After I made it clear I wasn’t interested in the day pass, he asked again if I wanted him to charge my card on file for it. What’s especially frustrating is how much worse the customer service was here compared to the Berkeley club. At Berkeley, I’ve had managers directly reach out to help resolve issues and ensure my experience as a member was positive. The contrast couldn’t be starker: while Berkeley provides proactive and thoughtful service, this club left me feeling like my loyalty as a paying member wasn’t valued at all. Other locations, such as Beale Street and Pine Street, also provide far superior service: Beale Street Club: Their staff were much friendlier and accommodating. When they couldn’t switch my membership on the spot, they apologized sincerely and took the initiative to connect me with their membership team. Pine Street Club: Also a great experience, with helpful and welcoming staff. For a club that charges significantly more, I expected much better. If you’re considering a membership here, I’d strongly recommend looking at other locations that value and respect their members.

The gym is fairly well equipped. It feels like a converted office. I think people join for the classes. Not many power racks and they don't get used very much. Equipment is always open. Nice executive lockers if you want your gym clothes laundered. It's a minor benefit and I always found the towels smell like old coffee. Also they shrunk my shorts and all the labels peeled off my shirts. My advice: keep it simple with fitness sf, instead.

I have rejoined this location and sad to see nothing has changed in two years. Half of the men’s showers have so little water pressure that you need to lean against the tile to try to rinse off. This hasn’t changed in 2 years so please, no canned reply about how you are trying to improve. What has changed is that more of the shower doors have fallen off. You also need to understand preventive maintenance. The floor drain in the shower area often fills to the top which tells me that soon the drains in the individual showers will clog up resulting in you needing to close the showers. Call a plumber now for some preventive maintenance. And if you you call a qualified plumber they could finally fix the water pressure too.

Staff has been great from the cleaning crew to the desk workers, but this site is straight up gross by any building standards let alone a gym that charges a wild amount. There is not a duplicate of any machine, and no variations of machines. The dumbbell area a joke , one small 6x6 space for working out for a whole dumbbell rack? The wall of them only has 6 benches. If you count working improperly machines rather than straight up broken, half of them have issues. This is a terrible 24 hour fitness and considering it’s not in a particularly bad area with high foot traffic there’s no reason for the trash facilities Apparently one aspect or another has been out of service since 2022

Today I complaint because a member has been playing his music outloud inside of the locker room. It turns out that, according to the GM (nice man, btw) told me, very politely btw, that 24h Fitness doesn’t have in their policy that restriction. The member told me that he has been playing music always and that no one complained before as an entitlement for him to continue with this behavior. My question here is if that entitle me to play my music outloud as well. Not just me, but everybody in the locker room. I mean, we all have headphones now, right? Regardless than a locker room is a common space where someone can’t make decisions about what music to play or even decide to play it. Please let me know if I am allowed to play music always music outloud moving forward. If not, please step up your brand values for us to know. Thanks

I love this gym but the amount of time the basketball court has been taking to be remodeled is a real bummer. It’s been torn up for months. Please fix it soon!

This gym can get extremely packed and it’s also pretty dirty machines are usually pretty dirty. You can get what you need to do in here done they do have a lot of equipment. I do like their bench press equipment. They do have a lot of stuff to get the job done unfortunately a lot of the members don’t clean up after themselves and just really thrashed the place.
