I can’t recommend The Fitness Factory enough! The atmosphere that John and his staff has built up is unmatched. The Fitness Factory takes all of their clients needs into consideration with mild to advanced instructions. Instructions catered per client appose to by class, allowing anyone from beginner to advanced to join in on the fun. The variety of classes available any given week is outstanding and always changing. When it’s a small class he doesn’t cancel, he targets the ones that show up and maximizes their experience in the gym. I don’t normally take time to write reviews, but the importance of spreading the word about this amazing gym is more than a simple review to me. The gym has become my personal escape from the every day grind. Its help not only my physical health but my mental health and self-confidence as well.

I have been to several types of fitness places over the years - from big chains to local businesses to personal trainers, do-it-yourself equipment workouts to structured classes (usually with many people in them). The Fitness Factory in Salem, NH outshines them all. The owner/main trainer Jon is not only an expert in his field, but he imparts a joy for his work that manifests as innovative routines, fun but purposeful contests, and many ways to find your personal way to better fitness and keep it! Classes and one-on-one only make it all personal. And the music is awesome, set to make you move and groove to the ideal heartrate which is monitored and displayed on Heart Rate Ninja - which Jon created! His staff, Sandy and Tyler, emulate his philosophy and keep us going. Just superb; 10 years there and no end in sight for me! If you put in the work you will be better physically, emotionally, and enjoy it!

Fitness Factory has great, supportive trainers and a friendly, non-judgemental workout environment. Class sizes are small in order for trainers to provide individual corrections, which is difficult in larger group settings. The Heart Rate Ninja app (which can be used for in and out of gym workouts) provides an excellent tool to track your heart rate to ensure you are getting the most out of each workout. Fitness Factory also offers fun fitness challenges throughout the year to keep everyone motivated to stay fit. Moving to this gym was one of the best decisions I have ever made for my personal fitness. Fitness Factory has helped me to achieve my personal fitness goals while having fun.

I’ve been going to The Fitness Factory since it was established and I’ve been training with Jon Tobey, the owner, for even longer! The classes work perfectly for my schedule and I take advantage of his nutrition and fitness planning sessions to round out everything out. This is the place to workout in Salem!

Do not use the tanning bed in room 4. For two years I have been telling staff something is wrong with it. It bakes you on your back and no color on the front. I’ve brought this up multiple times to different staff members. The staff always says oh well we just changed all the bulbs so it’s fixed. It’s not fixed. I’ve gotten severe sunburns from that bed (doing my typical time that Ive done in any tanning bed for the past 15 years). Perhaps this review will get someone to fix it but I doubt it. WiFi is aweful. I can’t even use YouTube half the time. Huge disappointment.

Great gym! Clean and well maintained. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I'm a black card member, and I love tanning and the hydromassage beds. Joseph, Autumn, Will, Mark, Hari, Chloe, and Camry are great people who make up a great team!

Im giving a 4/5 because of gym goers that frequent here and nothing to do with the quality of the staff, gym, or equipment. This is one of the nicest planet fitnesses I’ve been to, but the men here particularly seem to monopolize the machines, spend an extra long time on their phone between sets, and judgingly stare if you lift weights. It’s unfortunate, we are all here for similar reasons, but their behavior is super off putting and I’d much rather go to another PF to avoid this kind of vibe.

My son goes to this gym, he can be somewhat shy so if he likes it which he loves it he says than anyone can go..its not that crowded when he goes which is every day mostly before dinner time. if you pay the 24.99 a month you can get a personal trainer 30 min sessions, you can bring 1 person with you unlimited, there are many more perks for this price as well..check it out, nice and clean as well..

I thought about not posting this since its not great news and our experience is very limited, but I guess that's why there are reviews. Our only experience is at competitions. Our daughter goes to a different gym and we've been here 4 times for various competitions. As a spectator it's really hard to see since the gym is so spread out and there's very limited seating. As a gymnast, our daughter mentioned the beam surface is old and very slippery. It might be a great place to send your kids to train but we won't be going back for a competition.

Extremely expensive. They charge for their students to attend their own banquet.. $50. The monthly fee is also extremely expensive and if you miss a class, they don’t allow makeup sessions. They don’t let you watch your kid during practice.. they have plans to tint the windows so you can’t see. When they host events, the seating is awful and extremely uncomfortable. The ventilation does not exist and it smells terrible all the time. Equipment is old and needs to be updated. The kids leotards came in plastics bags folded up but cost hundreds.. why couldn’t it come on a hanging in a nice bag? Branded warm ups are through the roof so you see the club extremely mismatched at events while other clubs have matching warm ups. I had issues with which meets we signed up for and trying to get billing accurate is tough. No one is ever at the desk there and trying to have a conversation is very difficult. Good luck trying to call in. The two stars are only for the other parents who are cool and the instructor, Jenn who is a complete rockstar. Otherwise I don’t have much positive things to say.

I'm so happy with my experience at A2 Gym. My son, Alexander, has been attending their summer camp and has loved it! He is 6 and has always begged me not to send him to other places we've tried. This is the first time/place that he was disappointed to miss a day when he was sick! Usually, he is begging me to keep him home. Even though he loves it, he still doesn't want me to leave but the teachers help him wonderfully through that transition and I am able to leave. Then when I pick him up later, he doesn't want to go home. Also, big bonus in my book is the flexibility! I had to swap a day due to being out of town and it was no problem at all. Same thing when he was sick. I'm so happy to have found A2 Gym this year!

I enrolled my daughter in the summer tumbling class. She went there for 6 weeks. During those 6 weeks, I never saw an adult at the front desk. I was never greeted by anyone. Odd to me. Her class was run by different high school (?)/ college (?) students. It would have been nice to meet the owner or front office worker of the gym to help gain a better sense of A2 and if this is a gym that we want to make a full commitment to.

We had a party here and it was nothing but horrible. Staff was not friendly and pushy. No one in the party felt good about anything that was happing. So not worth the 300 dollar. Go to my gym in Bedford for the same price with so much more
