Best Gym near Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania

This place is a scam, which is sad because it is a nice gym. However there is a reason they have an F rating on the BBB website. I signed a two year contract. After my two years I tried quitting and they denied me. They lied and said I actually signed a three year contract. I moved and showed proof of my move multiple times and all were denied.(showed car insurance bill, a random bill, asked if I showed a marriage certificate and a bill in my husband’s name counted and was told no). When they finally approved it, I got charged another payment plus a $50 cancellation fee . Even though the manger told me on 7/19 I wouldn’t have to pay that. Then changed her mind and decided to charge me because she kept emailing me on my honeymoon when I asked her to stop. Guess I was being “difficult” because I was out of town and couldn’t prove my address while on my honeymoon? I could go on and on how this place has been charging me when I just wanted to end my membership. Do yourself a favor- Join the community center gym or go out of town to planet fitness. Both gyms are just as nice without canceling hassles!

I don't blame the local staff at all, but I lost my job last summer, and they refused to let me out of my contract (actually two contracts, for myself and my husband). I'm the primary (only) earner in my family, and it was a struggle to keep the lights on and keep food on the table, yet I still had to pay for two gym memberships every month. The gym is owned by a large financial holdings company, and I don't think the company cares about members or individual situations whatsoever. Again, this is not a review for this specific location, but ultimately I can't recommend it to anyone as my experience has been so stressful and disappointing. As a silver lining, I guess if I lost my house, my family and i could go there to shower!

The contract that Anytime Fitness has you sign is preditorial and keeps you locked in as a paying customer for 3 years. I injured my back, shortly after signing the contract 2 years ago and haven’t used one piece of equipment in that time. Even with a doctors note and x-rays of my back injury, Anytime Fitness is unwilling to let me out of their contract. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

This is one of the best gyms I’ve been to. I was visiting family from out of town and got a month pass. They have every kind of bar and equipment that I wanted, and it was all brand new. The facilities were clean and well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wish I had the same gym where I live. I will definitely come back next time I’m in town!

I would not suggest wasting your money here... the staff has not been there for 2 weeks the general manager walked aout today. I have been waiting what will be a week for the district managers to call to back today! I'm stopping payments... ✋️ this membership. The girl in Clearfield has been there 2 days .... hell I will go sit there in the office! OWNERS.. IF You're Seeing this by all means call me!

Best massage I've ever had Adrienne was very attentive and listened to my requests. Highly recommend setting up an appointment with her if you are in pain or in need of relaxation.

Adrienne has a very relaxing persona to begin with, but as u walk into her room u immediately notice the subtle essence of essential oils filling the air as a small salt lamp cascades reflections off a beautifuly painted ocean inspired murel. Soothing music plays softly in the background whilst u lie there in supreme peace & calm. If you LET GO of everything & just be in the moment with her, she will take you to a place you never thought imaginable during a massage. I've had several from her & she just gets better & better. Highly recommend her with no reservations. (She's also very easy on the eyes). You won't be disappointed!

I receive massage therapy & Reiki from Adrienne and she is nothing short of amazing! Adrienne is very comforting and provides the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. Every time I leave an appointment I feel so much better and rejuvenated. I ten out of ten recommend her!

I booked a spa party for my nieces bridal shower. It was an excellent experience. Very low key and relaxing, just what my niece wanted. The staff were very accommodating and super nice. I received a full body massage and it is highly recommended!!

The infrared sauna leaves you feeling amazing. It’s always a great experience at Breath Peace Spa. The staff is friendly. The place is clean. The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing sauna session. I recommend the package deal for 5 or 10 session because, you’ll want to go back! You might as well get the bundle and save!

Went in for an eyelash lift and tint. First time having one. Picture above is from the same night I had it done, left eye does not look like anything was even done. Called the next day and asked if they could take a look at them as I didn't think that was normal after only one day. Scheduled me to come in the next day to have someone look at them. Received a call back a little while later from someone different. She said I could come in to have someone look at them but nothing could be done anyway or my eyelashes could fall out, which i understand. Offered me different times to come in than was previously offered, which I could not make. Offered me half off my next session which could not be done for 6 weeks. For the price I paid for this to be done, i expected better. Completely unacceptable and Will not be booking again.

From the sauna room to the masage room… I’ve had an amazing experience every time. I wasn’t familiar with saunas, but the staff is informative and helpful. Adrienne is an amazing massage therapist. The Hot Stone massage was so relaxing and just what I needed. Do yourself a favor if you haven’t already, and go book a massage for yourself or as a gift!

THIS Venue was a smaller Community Center which was formerly a High School, I felt like I was back in my OWN...and then the Artist said the SAME THING from the stage moments later- that it looked and felt just like HIS old Louisiana alma mater EXCEPT without THE BALCONY...which turned out to be WHERE I WAS SITTING THIS TIME, in its front row far right with use of its deep ledge for getting steadier photos. This proved to be an AMAZING and FORTUITOUS SPOT TO BE as the Show Progressed. I got to See Things I Never had seen from any of my front row or even other close up main floor seats...the WOW EFFECT Of The Lighting Techs Full Splendor! (On this particular night my Favorite was a version of Americana Flags in Lighting projected onto the Ceiling during the Tribute to our Military by @TraceAdkins and Band and his Lighting Wizards- Yes, Lighting TechWizards!) I ALSO got to Enjoy watching Many details of the little ques of communicating that go on between the Artist and the Band on Stage which make their Performances hum and zing and pop in all the Perfect places. I LOVE All these Details of the Arts, too- and These are more easily observed from an Overview such as this Lovely BALCONY, than say a Main Floor seat position, which generally Does give Great views of their beautiful SMILES while Performing. So it's good to know what you hope for, BUT Better to KNOW There Are Great Things To Be Enjoyed From About Every Seat at Any Price. I'm making it a POINT to Test Out Many DIFFERENT VENUES and Many DIFFERENT Seats just happens, because of timing of purchases mostly. THIS VENUE AT PUNXSUTAWNEY, PA IS A HIT. Small and Quaint and FULL OF CHARM. And it has a Movie Theatre type Concession Stand at entry with popcorn and candy at $1.00. Yes I typed candy at $1.00 each and it's not a typo. I did say it's Quaint and FULL OF CHARM. It's next door to a Lovely Christian School and in a Sweet little Town with such friendly people encountered all along my way around the town...and I was there early in the day ahead of this event, too. I met Kim and Natalia at the Event. A local mom and daughter who came out as big fans. We discussed the Artist's earlier "cookie baking" with kids there, to help them get a jump on something to give their mom's for MOTHER'S DAY. (Told you it was Sweet). I definitely RECOMMEND THIS VENUE. #tlyric3 #@lyric_AT

When I'm home, I go to the Jackson Theater. Who can beat 5 dollar movies? The seats are comfortable and the projector is a new digital one. I really recommend seeing movies here.

Cool place. Many activities for kids and adults alike. Family oriented and allows you to have some fun without breaking the bank. The one and only Jackson Movie Theater in Punxsutawney is housed here and is great also! I'd recommend it. Very reasonable prices.

I love having our lil theater in town, Rob does a great job and the prices are so much more affordable and the big theaters. My only complaint with our Sunday movie is the time they show That's right it dinner time 5:30 I wish they would do it a little bit earlier.

The building is outdated and blah, but the people are fantastic. Friendly, warm and welcoming. Phil brings many tourists to this fine city so I write this review for such tourists. You have to go to the community center. They play the movie in their large, old theater and they sell cheap and delicious food and popcorn to eat while you watch. There is a craft show for all the groundhog wares you need. They even let you crash there for the night if you pay a few dollars on Groundhog Day because they know that many people only sleep a few hours between the countdown at midnight and the trek to gobblers knob. Even on other days of the year the center seems nice with its gym, theater, and indoor walking trails. It’s not fancy, but they are clearly doing the best with what they have and there is a certain satisfying contentment and pride you can feel from the locals. They have a wall dedicated to Chuck Daly who got his start in Punxsutawney and the list of community activities would put many other towns to shame. I will certainly be stopping there next time I’m in town because it seems like there is always something to do.

Another great time, as ussual! We watched a softball game. Drank a few beers, laughed with friends and shared stories. Ate some delicious food and had a great time!

Good times good people! Only those we know though..
