Best Gym near National-city, California

It has most of what you will need, there is a sign that says equipment must be shared, i havent seen this at any other LA FITNESS, its cool, PLEASE SHARE, if you are not into sharing then buy your own equipment and workout at your home, unless you are doing hip trust lol that one will be hard to share but its doable Dumbells are all over the place, thats on us, the users, some lazy people wont rack them where they should Mens bathroom stinks, it has this smell its a bathroom right? But non of the others LA fitness I have went smells like this one…idk, I think smell comes from Sauna There are some roaches around the gym, the big ones, watch out! Also, sometimes mens bathroom is missing soap, papel towels or tissue, whats going on there? I wish they had 2 machines of: leg press, leg extension and lying leg curl, 1 actual hack squat and 1 extra mobile bench. Where is the 40 lbs EZ bar? Fix the broken equiment! New 2025 year customers and broken equiment is not get fixed!

Great gym, men's sauna could be hotter. The track upstairs is a cool idea, the front desk guys with tats are always cool. The women front desk never say hi lol. Good spot though.

They rarely have paper towels in the men's restroom. They no longer provide body wash in the showers, what's next; No toilet paper?.? There used to be a maintenance guy at this gym but I haven't seen him around lately. I'm wondering if he quit or got let go. Either way, if he's no longer there, the staff that's usually too busy chatting with each other should take care of these essential needs...

Front desk (National City) will not answer the phone. When they do they will transfer while you’re talking. They they pick up on the other end and hang up. 6 times in a row. When i finally got Marisol back on the phone, she spoke over me. Did not apologize and said she was too busy to answer my question. This place is the worst customer service and management I have ever experienced in my life! Not sure why they are still in business. I was a member when it was Ballys years ago. It is now a dump

AVOID THIS PLACE!! The locker rooms: This place smells of mold and mildew is falling apart; everything from the restroom partitions, to the tile floor, every piece of metal rusting, the walls beneath the sink countertop are all ripped out from water damage and fans running likely to keep people from noticing the horrendous smell. The location: If you don’t mind parking your vehicle next to multiple homeless encampments where your vehicle is the target each time you park there then you’ll be fine. If you don’t like having your car broken into avoid at all costs. The staff: The manager Marisol might be the most unprofessional, inconsiderate, and unkind person I’ve ever encountered in a customer service setting and that’s conservative for how big a piece of work this person is. LA fitness you should consider reassessing this location and your managerial staff.

Cannot tell you HOW disappointed I am in this location. I LOVE planet fitness...BUT.. The men who go to this club are sloppy children. The change room floors are ALWAYS wet, and the men act like the change room is their private hotel room. I caught the WORST case of athlete's foot here EVER. The staff cannot police these people. Adult children, who just do whatever they want to. I had to change in the bathroom stalls. I had to use the disinfectant, that a surgeon friend of mine uses for surgery, to kill the fungal infection on my feet. AND.. they are NOT open 24 hours. The san diego owner, doesnt want to (??). AND.. they close early on the weekends(??) AND.. they only have ONE leg press machine, as well as ONE of other pieces of exercise equipment. The staff have no real sense of authority over this gym. Total anarchy. PLUS some of the women are very belligerant as well.They will NOT share the exercise space, will NOT move over even one inch to give you room to do your workout. They act like they OWN the place?? I will NOT be going back to this location, and hopefully I will be MOVING out of san diego.

This place is excellent the staff and management are very welcoming. Definitely a non judgmental environment. If you’re just getting into the gym this is a good start.

New updates to the gym are top tier work. Soo much more space, they took out all the unused machines that were just collecting dust and brought in new cool equipment. There's easier accessibility to barbells and dumbells and soo much more stretching space. I love it, way to go PF!

Amazing brand new equipment also the people are cool with really good vibes along with the workers who are very helpful also the bathrooms are extremely clean highly recommend it👌😎

Working with my fitness trainer, Mrs. Genna, at Crunch Gym - LaBonita- San Diego, has been such a wonderful experience. The professionalism, patience, expertise and kindness she extends has been helpful for me in working on my fitness and recovery (scoliosis and car accident) goals. She always took time to research best practices on my behalf especially when I needed my exercises altered for specific needs. I’m fully pleased to work with Mrs. Genna and find value with every training session. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a skilled and caring genuine trainer! Has everything you need for your fitness journey, and if you’re looking for and can afford one on sessions, I’d recommend Tarik (I believe they call him TK). Very friendly, patient, and easy to talk to about your goals. The parking is a bit of a nightmare, sure, but it is tied to a mall after all so that’s to be expected. I’ve found it’s easiest to find decent parking either super early or about 2 hrs before they close. The free weight area gets a bit congested (as do other areas cause it’s not a small gym, but it can get packed), though I’ve found people don’t take too long in that area and you’ll usually cycle in fairly quickly. They have a large area for cardio (treadmills, stairmaster, elliptical, etc), and a back room with mirrors for classes, bars with TRX bands, color foam boxes(?), stretching/warming up, and a smaller free weight area. Once you sign up, the app shows classes you can sign up for, and I’ve seen it range from Zumba to HIIT workouts; I’ve never joined one myself, but they seem fun if you’re not feeling the lone workout that day. Anyway, good gym, friendly staff, best of luck 👍🏽 and if you wanna test it out yourself, just sign up for the 3 day pass/trial. It will send you an email and you just activate it at the front desk.

Coming to the gym has been my savior, emotionally, physically and mentally. I like coming here, the staff are so friendly and place is always clean. I wanted to take my workout to another level. I started training with TK for 7 months now and seen a difference in my physique and strength. I love training with TK, every time I have questions or concerns he always there to answer my questions. If I mess up on lifting or my stance he always lets me readjust and doesn’t judge me. I’ll be honest at first i thought having a trainer would be intimidating and I will be judged. But TK actually makes me feel so comfortable, relaxed and gets me excited to go to the gym and helped me get my confidence back. I can now go to the gym with confidence. Not only he’s an amazing trainer but became friends. If your looking for a personal trainer, someone you can feel comfortable with and know you’ll get a good workout, TK is the man to do the job.

All the single ladies, this is the place to be. Let me elaborate. Usually at any gym, I have more girls interested in me, then I'm interested in. This gym is different. Also I know for sure 3 girls so far have found their soulmates here. I almost found mine too. But she chose half of me. I was all in for her. But I guess she didn't have the confidence to walk up to me after chasing me for months. I was so ready for it too. Silver lining l, I got a whole lot more than I can ask for. So, I guess her loss. Charlene, I wish you were smart enough. Lol! Regardless, this place has a very different vibe and energy. If you are having fun, you will have fun here. Believe me.

Seems like they have a plumbing back up in the locker room. Smelled like a sewer. Honestly why is this so hard for PF to figure out? The members pay the money, and some of the money is used to maintain the facilities. It shouldn’t be that difficult for someone with a brain to understand. I used the planetfitness.com website to cancel my membership without even needing to sit down with any employees. I guess that’s a positive…

Far cleaner PF than the one in Chula Vista, although does not have that locations' attractive, fit staff. Also, there are no homeless/vagrants outside like the Chula Vista PF. Has a weight scale and the biggest lockers I have ever seen. Unfortunately, the amount of lockers seems half the amount of most PF's. But, it does have a roomy Black Card area. Appears owned by the same franchisee as the C.V., location, but actually has HOT water in it's showers (unlike C.V. that never replaces its faulty hot water heater).

Equipment is new, however different weight markings than the other ones I have used at other PFs. Decent parking. However the music is way too loud and the televisions on two of the three stationary bikes did not work

Can even cancel the damn suscripcion easily. That's not good really bad administration and useless help

This is a good place to keep the consistency Of your workout.There's not a whole lot of muscle building machines... I do respect that the machines you Clean yourself.

I did the Zumba and the Boot Camp classes great energy and what a work-out! If you enjoy a great workout while having fun you must try Julie's facility. You will not be disappointed, she really knows her stuff.
