For the price you can't beat how easy it is to get to this place, bang out a workout, use the black card amenities and be home in 5 minutes. It's clean and there are always treadmills, bikes and machines open to use.

I went in after work for my first time around 2:00 a.m. on a Tuesday morning and the young man that was working was so helpful and so patient with me explaining every little thing to me he gave me an amazing tour

This location is contracted to have Tivity health members use their gym. The front desk workers were rude & treated me as if I was making something up. Said they have never heard of this membership / they don’t accept it and glared at me until I left. Called the West Chester location who did try to help and said they would contact this location but was still unable to use my membership.

This is a smaller size Planet Fitness, but wasn't crowded when I was there. It was clean and the equipment was in working order. I'm not a fan of the Precor equipment, but found it interesting that there is also some Hammer Strength back and chest machines

The Y offers a variety of classes at varying times. I have so many favorite classes that I look forward to each day! The instructors are so enthusiastic! They motivate and inspire us! You can tell they love what they do! I am proud to be a member of the Y Community!

Been back at the Y after a 15 year absence. Classes are amazing and morning and evening classes. Mary L and Suzi B have helped me achieve my goals and made it really fun along the way. All the instructors do a great job!!

Great place for family but not great for people who just want to work out and leave for the day. Feels like the facility focuses a lot on building community but not so much for people who just come to work out. Lots of activities for kids and older folks. Many classes they offer are based on those demographics. I am thinking about cancelling the membership and find a new gym that I can go and work out anytime.

It's a great facility with programs for almost everyone. The pool and dry/wet sauna are a definite during every visit. I love the cardio machines, and their are resistance exercises for different types of members. They have a circuit room that is usually not busy, and the free weight area can get a little busy during peak hours. I still don't find myself waiting on someone very often. I've taken a few fitness classes, including yoga, which I loved. This brings me to the staff. No knock to any other facility, but I think this staff is top-notch. All of the trainers and instructors are very knowledgeable and convey things in a way that is easy to understand. I see all levels of fitness there, and anyone who is looking to get started after a long hiatus should give this YMCA strong consideration. They have daycare and programs for kids, too. They all look like they're having fun.

Both my children are taking swim lessons at the Kennett YMCA this spring and the teachers and lessons are fantastic! My son took private swim lessons elsewhere last year but I feel that he’s making more progress with his group lessons here at the Y. And it’s so nice that the pool is warm, it makes it much easier for the kids to learn. The facilities are nice and clean and everyone Is very helpful.

Anchor has been an amazing experience for me. I’ll start out by saying I don’t like working out, I’m lazy. I had a Y membership for 4 years and never went. I signed up for Anchor and I go 5 days a week now. The app program is a great system for lazy folk like myself, because I can’t not show up for a class I signed up for cause the instructor will know and I’m likely keeping someone else from the class. I love all the instructors; their eyes are on each person making sure everyone is doing the workouts properly and pushing you to finish/go up in weight (they do this mildly and nicely)! I feel so much better each morning after my workout, my posture is noticeably better and I’m stronger. I love the yoga classes for my joints. It’s a real community; everyone (trainers and members) is really nice and supporting. I highly recommend checking Anchor out.

My son Connor has been working out with Jake and Dom at Anchor fitness for the past two years. The sports performance classes have been the best fit for him. Small classes with instructors who truly care about the athletes. He looks forward to going every afternoon! His strength and fitness level have made huge strides and he is seeing all the off season hard work pay off on the baseball field this spring. Not only are they getting a good workout but the instructors are teaching them the about their muscles and how the exercises will help them.

I used to dread bringing our trash cans up our steep driveway. I would be winded and reminded of how out of shape I was. Now, thanks to Anchor, I actually look forward to this weekly task because it reminds me of how strong I've become. I look forward to getting up and heading to Anchor at 6 a.m. every morning. The community is wholesome, and the coaches each bring their own unique style. They help you safely and effectively understand how to lift weights. Even after a year, I still have questions about my form, and the coaches are always there, equipped with the knowledge to ensure that what I'm doing is best for my body. Anchor has given me the tools to transform my life—I now have the energy I was searching for to keep up with my two little boys. Over the summer, I was walking off the beach with my 3-year-old. I had a chair on my back, a cooler over one arm, a bag of sand toys over the other, and another chair. When my son started crying because his feet were burning from the hot afternoon sand, I was able to lift him up, despite already carrying all that weight, and carry him off the beach. It was a moment I’ll never forget, and it truly wouldn’t have been possible if I hadn’t joined Anchor. Recently, I received some bloodwork results showing my biological age is 9.8 years younger than my calendar age. After turning 40 this year, seeing that I’m biologically 30 is pretty cool. I can’t help but think that focusing on my skeletal muscle and the ripple effect it has on the rest of my body played a part in that result.

I think everyone dreads surgery and the long recovery that often follows. I have to share how thrilled I am that Anchor was there for me when I was able to start exercising again after my bilateral mastectomy this past July. Who would have thought a gym I joined in 2017 would literally be saving my physical and mental health years later! It was only recommended by the surgeon that I walk for exercise the first 4 weeks post op (which I did, with some planks and elevated pushups thrown in, as I usually push myself a bit). I returned to Anchor 4 weeks to the day after surgery and started a program tailored to what I needed for strength and mobility recovery. After that first week my mobility was nearly 100%. I am now almost 8 weeks post op and have about 90% of my upper body strength back. Not too shabby for a 65 year old woman. I can confidently say that I would never have been able to return so quickly to pre surgery levels if it were not for the dedication and genuine caring of all of the yoga and fitness coaches at Anchor Life and Fitness

I've been a member of Anchor for almost three years. I had always been a big cardio guy (cycling, etc), and while I still enjoy those activities, Anchor has made me realize that strength, flexibility, and yoga are just, if not more, important for overall health and wellness. The trainers have been wonderful at providing targeted actions to improve my flexibility and lessen my back pain and offer alternatives and form adjustments during our workouts to place less strain on my back. Anchor's small classes are enjoyable and varied, making going to the gym far less of a chore. The results have been increased muscle mass, increased strength, improved flexibility, and a broader understanding of overall health. More recently, I've been having weekly check-ins and working with one of the trainers, Dom. These more focused feedback sessions have again elevated the service and results I'm seeing. Dom has helped dial in my nutrition, workouts, and lifestyle choices to better achieve my health and fitness goals. The weekly check-in keeps you honest and accountable, while also providing helpful tips and tricks to reach your goals. I'm confident that this extra attention to detail and feedback will continue to help me focus more attention on my goals as I reach the half-century mark.

Mrs Suzanne has been the best addition to our life. My daughter’s singing has blossomed and we have now incorporated piano so she can learn to read music. Not only is she an amazing teacher, she is a positive role model, she also builds your child’s self esteem and confidence. She truly cares for her students and parents like family members. We are blessed to have her in our lives.

Suzanne has been a patient, positive influence for my daughter. My child never tries to get out of lessons or says she doesn’t feel like going, which is a big deal for her because most of the time after doing an activity for a while she starts to get tired of it. We love Suzanne!

Suzanne Jackson has been our voice teacher since 2021. She is an amazing voice and acting teacher - knowledgeable, experienced and genuinely caring of her students. Under her expert tutelage, my eldest daughter was accepted into a prestigious music conservatory and is currently pursuing a degree in classical vocal performance. My youngest daughter, a high school student who adores musical theatre, has seen huge changes in her singing voice. We cannot thank Suzanne enough for all the love she has shown our girls over the last 3+ years.

Suzanne is an amazing talent and human. I feel so fortunate to have someone of her caliber working with my 85 year old dad with his voice lessons. She is so patient, coaching him to be his best and having fun in the process. She also emphasizes proper warm ups, incorporating a lot of breath work, drawing on her yoga and professional singing backgrounds for a holistic experience.

Suzanne strikes just the right balance between technical discipline and artistic creativity. As a professional opera singer, pianist and composer, she can deliver music education at the highest level, but she is also great with beginners. She knows when to push her students and when to back off. The kids who study with her are doing great work.
