Best Gym near Elyria, Ohio

I have not been to the Elyria location in a few months. I went there today and there is all new staff. The gym was dirtier than I have ever seen it. Dust bunnies everywhere and the mirrors were filthy. Numerous paper towel dispensers were empty, all while 3 staff are just standing behind the desk talking to each other.

Super clean and friendly environment. Friendly staff. I was treated to a massage after my workout in the "Black Card Lounge". I'll be going back

Nice gym. Easy check in. Showers had plenty hot water and good pressure. My only negative was that there are no chairs or benches in the changing rooms and they could use more hooks.

They do great keeping the leg machine racked with weights and treadmills always seem to be open . Just depends on what time of the day you show up. This is my home gym and able to accomplish all of my goals this year. Thank you planet fitness.

Little crowded for my comfortability level, nice variety of machines, clean, plus tanning and massage chairs are a plus. Friendly staff.

Amazing gym! They have the largest variety of equipment I’ve ever seen including a sled, tires, ropes, skiing machine, Jacob’s ladder and more. Every type of machine, plenty of cardio, and multiple functional training areas. Not crowded at all on Saturday afternoons too.

So the owner of this company makes horrible comments of people online. Surely as an owner of fitness company you'd be uplifting people? Disgusting attitude and mindset. Thought people should be careful and aware of this.

Just moved to Elyria from Detroit,MI. This gym is the closest thing to the Original Powerhouse Gym in Detroit which is a hardcore gym. Has all the equipment you need and a bunch of extras that i think any serious lifter/ bodybuilder or regular gym goer would want. Love the fact that there is turf in the middle of the gym snd heavy bag. Great place to focus in and get your work done!

Wanted to update my review. Got in contact with the owner and some changes have been made. First, contact information is up to date, a large issue was emails going to an older address. So he updated the information so now things should not be missed. Second, he addressed my concern with the volume, he went in one evening and witnessed what I said first hand and has addressed the issue with his staff. The music volume is much more appropriate for a gym setting, you can hear it but your ear buds and still drown it out. Some of the equipment is aging, some is state of the art. Take that as you will. I have noticed several new weights which is always good as well as a machine has been swapped out. I've also seen someone work on new machinery in a side room so it's nice to see constant updates happening.

I started at Grit probably about a year and a half ago. It started as Saturday kickboxing then it turned into Thursday full body workouts and now personal training with Megan. She is the push I needed in life! Every week there is a new and exciting class that challenges you mentally and physically, and she is right there doing it with you cheering you on!!! I can’t say enough about her and her dedication to your fitness and health!! I can never say enough of what a positive impact grit and Megan have made in my life ♥️

Megan is the best trainer around! I have been going to her kickboxing/ strength training class for 2 years now! I started personal training with her 4 months ago, and I can’t believe the results that have been happening to my body! I can’t recommend her enough!
