Best Gym near District-heights, Maryland

I have been coming to this location for quite some time and today I met a Planet Fitness associate named Deniqua and not only did she provide great service but she dressed up as Harley Quinn! She celebrated the Halloween Spirit! Outstanding service and above and beyond attitude!

Great gym! I drive past a location closer to my home because the gym is clean (keeping in mind it’s an inexpensive gym), has great energy, and has finally updated so it has several Smith machines to make up for the lack of benches to do barbell presses on. If they upgraded their preset barbells to include weights more than 60 pounds, I think all members, men and women, would greatly appreciate it! Otherwise, it’s a pretty decent gym. Good staff. Not too crowded.

In the mornings we need help or some kind of information and we never find it because the staff is always asleep and we spend up to more than 20 minutes waiting for them to wake up and it doesn't happen. This staff is not right, it is better for them to stay home sleeping. This has happened many times.

I have been going to this gym for about a consistent year now and the staff is excellent . Ahkeem knows all the customers by name. One morning, I had a medical emergency. He knew the movements of my workout and checked on me in which I couldn’t move. I didn’t want an ambulance, and this happened at his check off, he went and got my husband. He went above and beyond his duties. I’m grateful to this employee at planet. In addition, it’s always clean and smelling great. Ahkeem and other staff is always cleaning and moving equipment, cleaning the floors and mirrors. I come in the wee hours and the workers are making sure the gym 💪 is in excellent condition for the patrons. Thank you for the consistency of great employee, Bo

I'm beginning to despise using this gym. On more occasions than I can count on two hands I've gone over to use piece of equipment and been told by another member that, "I'm using that". This has happened even when the person is actually using a different piece of equipment, or in a conversation clear across the room. I've spoken to management about this many times, yet it happens over and again. Again, today (2/13/20), I asked the lady at the front desk if PF would be placing informational signs around the gym as a part of their current remodeling, signs clarifying that no member can occupy two pieces of equipment simultaneously. She flippantly told me that no such signs would be placed in the gym. However, the location has many other signs that provide rules and other information (photos attached). Such sign would help members avoid confrontations like I'm certain others have experienced. This is a reasonable solution to an issue that management adopt very easily, yet has zero interest in doing. Just be aware that you may someday be warned away from using a piece of equipment that You "Paid" to use. They'll spend money decorating the walls of the place top-to-bottom, but refuse to spring for a few signs that convey rules they claim are in place. I feel so strongly about this that I plan to pursue it at the corporate level, see if there's any strength/resolve at the top...
