This is a solid gym - staff are all very friendly, tons of group class options, and everything is tidy. Special shout outs to Stephanie N. and Mike M.! Mike is a fantastic trainer - he's incredibly friendly, supportive of you and your goals, and works with you to make sure that you're getting what you need out of your training sessions. Top tier human overall. Great at challenging you to push yourself and is very respectful throughout the whole process. Stephanie's Zumba class is my absolute favorite group class at best fitness. Her upbeat spirit and fun movements make every class enjoyable. She's very good at making each class accessible to various fitness levels.

This is legit my “second home” & has been for 10+ years. It’s been a long journey & having had 3 children in this time I needed to shed some weight. With consistency & time, I dropped over 75 lbs & can say that I owe some of the credit to how comfortable my gym made me feel. There’s zero judgement here. The staff are all kind & attentive, smiling & welcome you with eye contact & respect. The Kids Klub (daycare right inside the gym) is top notch & I can trust them with my kids without hesitation. The classes are amazing & inspiring (especially my favorite Spin classes Tuesday Wednesday & Thursday with Laura Warren!) In this gym, it feels like family. One of my favorite people is Bria :) She is a bright light who shines on everyone she encounters. It’s so true that people always remember how you made them feel, and I can say that at Best Fitness in Chelmsford, I truly feel valued & seen. If you are looking for a clean, friendly environment & somewhere to get some “you” time in, this is your spot. Best part is that they are very reasonably priced!! My standards are high & I couldn’t recommend Best Fitness more :)

I recently had an evaluation with Personal Trainer Michael Mehan. It was a great experience! Michael gathered a plethora of qualifying information to get to know me and my fitness goals, performed a short evaluation of my body mechanics and made excellent recommendations based on all of my information as well as addressed some very specific health issues and how they can be approached and managed. If you are looking for a friendly, professional, knowledgeable Personal Trainer who will help you reach your goals for health and fitness, then you need to go to Best Fitness, Chelmsford Street, Chelmsford and ask for Michael Mehan!!

Do not go to this Gym. Customer service sucks! The staff are not on the same page with each other. My friend got a Christmas gift and she called the gym and they scheduled an appointment for us and meanwhile one staff called me and told me you were member in the past and your friend gave you a free pass because of holidays gift so you can come anytime . today we went to gym to use my free pass and one staff came and told us I can’t use the free pass because I have been member. So it seems it is not a gift just marketing and business. They don’t care about their customers time and they only care about their business. My friend is member of the gym for two years and now she wants to cancel her membership because of their attitude and not working with professional.

Best Fitness Chelmsford gave me a whole new outlook on healthy living. I get to be part of a gym family where they care about your health physically and emotionally. I got to train with Nick when I first signed up for personal training. He was amazing. He was flexible with time and understood my goals. He was a big reason why I didn't give up on the fitness journey. He always told me there are no bad lifts because every lift adds up. I have always given up on losing weight and going to the gym in the past and now I go 5-6 days a week. Progress is not linear is what I hear all the time from Nick as well as Aly who is my personal trainer and my nutritionist now. They both knew I could lift more than I thought I could. For example, I deadlifted 195lbs with Aly. That was huge for me. Even the Fitness Directors Erik and Dom have been amazing and want to see everyone succeed. They will always take the time to listen to you. Come sign up with Best Fitness, try out personal training, try out nutrition, and come meet new friends! I know I'm grateful for this gym community.

They have tons of classes, lots of great equipment, and plenty of open space for free-form exercise. The sauna and hot yoga are not as hot as I like, but they're still good. Plenty of parking. Apparently, you can even get smoothies made, too. I'm just using the free week while I'm in town, but I would certainly get a membership here if I lived in the area.

Updated October 2021: We've been coming here for 5 months and we have no complaints. All of the staff, manager, and trainers (Phil, Jim, Liam, Stephanie) are friendly and encouraging. We enjoy coming in straight away when they open in the morning. Excited to see the upgrades once the extension next door is open with spin studio and hot yoga studio. Honestly surprised at all the hate people have for Phil. He's nothing but nice to us, and I'm a minority female. Then again, I'm always kind and respectful and not condescending to everyone. So maybe the people who feel entitled should tone it down? Just a thought 🤷🏽‍♀️ We used to have a home gym but upon moving had to join a gym. The staff is super friendly and gym members are kind and encouraging. Even with the limited number of people allowed in classes (Covid restrictions), there are still plenty of options. There are also virtual classes and personal training options. Looking forward to have the onsite sitting back so the whole family can go at once. My 13 year old and I enjoy all the classes- yoga, barre, kickboxing, spinning. So many to choose from! I was surprised to see all the negative reviews. Everyone here is so nice and helpful, including the manager who we worked with us to get our memberships. There is plenty of equipment and members and trainers are very accommodating. I know there are gyms who are comparable with what they offer and the cost is higher. Awesome that the gym opens at 0430 during the weekdays and 0700 on the weekends. If you like to train on your own, train with a professional, or do group exercise, this gym is perfect. Now if they bring back the babysitting (kids choice), the whole situation will be perfect 🥰😋

They were charging me for two memberships for awhile because they "accidentally" made a second account with my name and credit card information. It took me three times to be able to get a proper explanation and a manager to fix it. They told me they will be refunding the full amount and ended up only refunding half of what they owed me. Staff were clicky, gym was dirty, and crowded with mostly men (men would go to the women's only area too), I did not enjoy my experience at this gym when I was a member.

Phil the general manager is a scammer and so is this gym. They tell people that their account is canceled and then do not cancel the account just so that they can keep charging peoples bank accounts. When you complain to the manager, he over speaks you on the phone and doesn’t listen and tell you that you need to learn how to read a contract. Guy is making your gym look real bad. There’s a bunch of other people with the same complaint about the guy. When you call to cancel and then go in person, you expect that they will do the proper procedure for cancellation however, after driving all the way to the gym to cancel, you still get charged a week later and when you call, you are told that the staff didn’t do the proper cancellation process so it is your fault for not reading the original contract that you signed months ago lol joke

Stay away from this gym unless you want to be charged for the rest of your life. I joined for 3 months & bought 8 training sessions the beginning of Feb 2024. I didn't particularly enjoy the gym after going to my sessions 2x a week in Feb. I had 2 months left on my membership so I thought I voluntarily bought 8 more sessions & went once a week. When I asked the front desk on April 4th how many sessions I had left, I was told 13 ( I should if had 5) . Apparently the 1st of every month I agreed to be charged $336. for an additional 8 sessions. Choice fitness planned to charge me for these sessions even after my membership expired. I asked to be refunded the 8 sessions billed on my credit card on April 1st since I won't have time to use them before my membership expires. I was told they have to hold me to the contract & if I have sessions after my membership is over they 'will work with me' to use my training. I can only imagine how much that will cost. I mentioned earlier I don't particularly like this gym so I think it would have been fair to refund me the 8 sessions I was charged for on April 1st. If I could have given this gym negative stars I would have. The charge is currently in dispute with my credit card company.

I started working out here about 6 months ago. It has one of the friendliest staff I have ever met. They’ll greet you and help with any issues at hand. They clean multiple times a day and keep the gym in top shape. I’ve been very happy with my switch to this gym and would recommend it for people looking for somewhere to workout. Wide variety of free weights along with a large portion of lifting machines. They offer a complimentary free training and have weight lifting classes running to help people who need guidance. Once again, i’d recommend this gym to anyone looking for a gym to workout at.

The manager of Drum Hill Best Fitness is accessible, checks up on your progress and is skillful in matching each client with the best trainer for personal goals and personality. Sean Fahey, my trainer, is quite knowledgeable of not only how the muscles and joints interact, clearly explains the correct positioning of my body during each exercise to avoid injury and maximize effectiveness, while also which exercises and equipment is best for my level of physicality. The entire staff are well trained and quite friendly. I feel like I am among friends and professionals during my sessions. I have even updated my skills with the Best Fitness app thanks to the patience and communication skills of my trainer and the support staff. Best Fitness Drum Hill has been for a long time my place to improve my balance, muscle development, conditioning, and, most importantly, a place where safety, cleanliness, and a positive atmosphere are a top priority.

Drum Hill Best Fitness is great. Brett and his Staff do everything to be sure it's clean and neat at all times. The vacuum cleaner is on constantly. Windows and machines are cleaned all the time. It's the cleanest place in town. Bathrooms are another area that are done constantly. Teaching staff and their clients are great. We all learn from them. This is a great place Brett and I'm proud to belong.

I've been a member at a few gyms throughout the years, Best Fitness Drum Hill has been my best experience. The staff and manager are exceptionally friendly and helpful. I appreciate Brett and Tania extending a warm greeting. The place is very large. There are two floors that are kept clean, as is the locker room. You will never feel overcrowded upstairs. There are plenty of spaces on the second floor to stretch or work out alone. Lots of free weights, floor mats, kettlebells, etc. You never have to wait for a cardio machine or weight training and they recently replaced all worn pads and handles. Staff is always available to help with questions or advice on how to achieve your goals. There's a nice seating area in the front if you like, and they sell nutritional drinks for your convenience. Lastly, but important to me, there is plenty of parking and easily accessible.

Really great place to work out. Staff is professional and helpful. Classes are quite fun.. They don't haggle for business, I was able to cancel my membership within 5 minutes when I was moving away. Highly recommend.

This is a 100% positive review of Skill of Strength (SOS). I’m a masters athlete at the local, regional, national, and world level. My needs and expectations are not typical - I don’t go to the gym because I want to lose a few pounds, I go because it helps me compete. I have specific goals and SOS provides the kind of expert performance coaching that I need in order to thrive. Mike Perry and his team understand my goals and mentality and as a result I’m incredibly well prepared. I remain injury free with little or no pain, my physical capacity seems to keep increasing, and I can perform at a level that most people… can't. I’ve been an SOS member for years and I joined after a thorough search of the Boston area for a high performance, technically oriented gym staffed by expert coaches who are on the cutting edge of their field. If you have specific competitive goals and want coaches who work with high performance amateur and professional athletes, all packaged in a gym where standing on the gas is encouraged, you’ll be right at home at SOS.

Skill of Strength is such a great place to get fit and feel strong again . I’m 67 years old and I wasn’t sure how I would do. This place is not like any other gym. You see people of all ages and strength capabilities. I’ve been at skill of strength for 3 months. I’ve improved my balance my posture and I just feel so much stronger. I have to say I owe all this success to my trainer Sam. She is so knowledgeable and knows how to get me to push myself.I couldn’t ask for a better trainer. I leave my session feeling so good! I joined SOS my junior year of high school. I knew that I had to start regularly strength training in order to play soccer at the next level so I started trying out different personal training gyms but I never liked the egos of the coaches and athletes at the gyms I went to. As soon as I went to SOS I could tell the atmosphere was completely different. Every coach was knowledgeable and friendly, as were all the other athletes. The coaches are all the best around. They get you significantly stronger while making sure that your form is correct so you don't get injured either. They really cater to each specific athlete so that they reach their individual goals. They can work around your schedule whether you're in season or in the off season and know exactly what you need to do in the gym to be better prepared to play your specific sport. They also do drills that will make you more agile and overall more athletic. The workouts are hard but I didn't dread going to the gym once because the athletes and coaches make it a fun atmosphere. I was always a good soccer player but after I joined SOS the recruiting process ramped up heavily. I now play at soccer at George Mason University and I owe a lot to Mike and Steve and the rest of the staff for what they've done for me over the past couple of years. No matter what level athlete you are or even if you're not an athlete, SOS is the best gym around and will help you reach your specific goals.

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I walked into Skill of Strength. All I knew was that I was coming off a long period of a few illnesses which saw my body pretty much decimated. At one point I was in a wheelchair and needed help to do basically anything. After about 18 months of PT and continued treatments, I was ready for the next step. I needed to start trying to build back some of my strength and flexibility to make life easier, but I wasn’t sure where to start. My friend strongly suggested checking out SOS and I knew from my first evaluation with Mike that this was the place that could help me. I started with personal training sessions with my trainer, Matt. He has and continues to develop an individualized plan that works on all the areas I need. In just a few months I’ve made big strides. I’m able to move around better and I can tell I’m getting stronger. I’m now to the point where I’m to do open gym times as well as book times under the SUCCEED program. I can’t state enough how much the team at SOS has helped me progress so far and I know this is just the beginning.

I have been a member for three months now, and it has made a huge difference in my health. I knew I had lost strength during the pandemic, but I had no idea how much I had lost and how poor my balance was. The coaches have been great at helping me modify exercises so I can make progress without injury. They are really good at helping regular middle aged folks gain strength even with wonky shoulders, knees, hips. I am making steady progress, and am confident that if I keep being consistent that I will get stronger.
