This place is just so disappointing. I only come here because there’s literally no other gym in the area with the array of equipment, classes, pool, and sauna. I came into the women’s bathroom today and two sinks (pictured) were clogged with I don’t even know what. You absolutely need to bring your own wipes. They only have a few stations that often run out of wipes and it’s clear things aren’t being cleaned as they should. I also wipe down the barbells before using them and it turns the wipes brown (also pictured), which is disgusting. There’s also just really poor gym etiquette here without staff to compensate for it. I often have to remove hundreds of lbs of weight off of machines before use. This is really frustrating and makes my workouts take way longer and can cause me to strain myself inadvertently. They need to hire folks to deep clean and re-rack weights throughout the day. I’ve come into the sauna previously and found someone using it to dry their street clothes. A mess. As folks have said, there’s lot of potential. I’ve been to LA Fitness in other places and this location is just a drag on the brand truly.

I've been going to various LA Fitness Clubs across the country for over a decade. This by far is the FILTHIEST gym I've ever been to. Gym is never cleaned the night before (I would know this because I get there right when the gym opens). Trash everywhere, machines broken for months (there's at least 8-10 treadmills needing service at one time). Filthy stalls and urinals. I wouldn't be surprised if you happened to get sick from this location because the showers look absolutely horrendous. I would NEVER feel comfortable to take one here. Sauna room? Disgusting You have better options to go to. SERIOUSLY ANDORRA BROOMALL COTTMAN HELL, EVEN SPRINGFIELD If I could give this location a lower review I most certainly would. They removed paper towels around the machines to cut costs and it's apparent when you arrive to a machine you're trying to workout at. There will be sweat and dirt from the previous person on the machine. And they have a nerve to want new signees to pay $40-$50 for THIS location? Hard Pass

I'm writing a detailed review because I couldn't find most of this information online. Overall impression - Dirty. That's my main complaint about this gym. It seems like the machines have not been cleaned for years! There's dirty, dust, spills, and sweat marks everywhere. Not even the water fountains are clean, they are full of dirt and calcium deposits. Parking - plenty of free parking. Gym - many strength training machines and free weights available. There's a TRX station as well. There are disinfecting wipes available, but nobody uses them. Staff doesn't seem to enforce that nor clean the machines on a regular basis. There's a tire turning station as well. Lots of cardio machines, mostly quite dirty. Restrooms - the lockers are old and scuffed. Several were dirty inside. You should bring your own lock, as there is no keypad built into the lockers in the changing room. There are blow-dryers available, but the wall next to them was full of white and black/blown stains. There are small lockers with a keypad next to the welcome desk for your valuables. Showers - the water pressure and temperature is good. There are 6 shower stalls and shower gel available. There are no towels available. As a result, some guests dry themselves with paper towels and leave them on the floor of the shower area! Swimming pool and hot tub - up to 6 people can swim at a time, so you may need to wait in peak hours. The pool water temperature is very good for swimming, not cold if you are moving. The hot tub is really nice and warm! I really appreciate having a place to relax after a workout. Sauna - saunas are inside the changing rooms. Kids club - make sure you check the opening hours before coming. Closed on Sundays.

I’ve been going to gyms for over 10 years, and I can confidently say this is the worst gym I’ve ever encountered. The state of this facility is unacceptable: Locker rooms: Infested with cockroaches, making them unsanitary and unfit for use. Sauna and showers: Filthy and poorly maintained. Gym floor: Complete chaos. Members play their own music on personal speakers, fail to rerack free weights, leave weights on barbells, and take up unnecessary space. Equipment is rarely wiped down, creating an unsanitary and unpleasant environment. Equipment: Outdated, frequently out of service, and seemingly neglected. Personal training: A joke—unqualified staff with little to no knowledge. Other facilities: No basketball court, and the pool and hot tub are dirty and poorly maintained. The overall environment is dirty, unfriendly, and grossly overpriced for what is offered. To make matters worse, canceling membership was an absolute nightmare. For those struggling to cancel, I recommend calling (948) 255-7200. The owners and management should be ashamed of the state of this gym. Instead of replying with a generic marketing response, I urge you to address these issues directly. This gym is a disgrace to the LA Fitness brand.

Thanks for wasting an hour of my time, LA Fitness. We were looking at potentially switching from the Drexel U student gym in the New Year. Other gyms in town were all a little cramped and had too few machines. We used to like LA Fitness when we lived in Austin, so why not drive out to the 'burbs and try this one? So we signed up on their website for a 7-day guest pass, thinking we'd try it on a weekday at rush hour and a weekend and see if it was hard to get there from West Philly. We roll up. The manager who "activates" guest passes isn't there, whatever that means. Another manager shows up instead, with a cock-and-bull story about how actually, what we must have instead is... a 3-day guest pass issued to us by a "VIP member"? What? No, I don't know any of those. We show him the emails that say "7-day guest pass". He pulls it up in the system and it says "not activated". Well, duh, dude. After two or three more attempts to show him the email, the website we signed up with, whatever gets us in to try the gym, we give up trying to understand the metaphysical explanations he's giving us for why our passes aren't real, and bounce. Not having it. Whatever. LA Fitness is only kind of good at the best of times, and it certainly isn't worth THIS kind of hassle.

I’ve been a member of AFC for years and love it. Front desk is friendly and attentive. Spin classes with Rick are great and my trainer Justine has really helped me build muscle for my aging body. I’ve never been there when someone from facilities isn’t cleaning some part of the gym. I also like the diversity of the membership - everyone is friendly. Recommend AFC highly.

I was a member at the Bala location for 3 years. I brought on other members to sign up and was very happy with the customer service on the day to day staff in the gym. During a rough financial time, my card was declined 2 months in a row. Rather than working with me, the manager Ben Levit gave me an attitude via email and sent my membership info to collections. Collections required me to pay double what was owed to AFC. Because of my poor experience when I was struggling financially, the lack of care toward a customer of several years, and the poor customer service from the management, I cannot recommend this gym.

No frills, basic gym. Equipment is above average with ample space to stretch and warm up/cool down. Though for the price, the maintenance on the locker rooms is below par—multiple instances of soap dispensers, sinks, urinals out of service. Furthermore, they have started to charge for towels which is frustrating to add another expense every visit to the gym. On a positive note, staff is very friendly and always looking out for members. Atmosphere is very welcoming. Temperature is appropriately regulated throughout the gym.

I have been participating in personal training with Peter Wallace at AFC fitness for 2 years. The team is very committed to helping their clients meet their personal fitness goals. It is a fun and supportive environment!

Amazing facility which has just about every equipment you could ever need; a pool, lawn, many courts for tennis and paddle. The atmosphere is friendly and everyone is very courteous of each other. Now during the month of October is a fantastic deal where you can bring two guests for free. I can’t rave about this place any more than I already am. It’s great!

Nice place, clean facilities, had fun playing padel, my first time.

Great sport, and easy to learn if you already know tennis and squash. Good exercise as well - with the ball coming off the back and sides walls, even a ball that's gone past you is still in play. Nice setting too - though if you play in the early morning, bring sunglasses as the sun can be in your eyes. Hoping that a league gets going.

Great Padel courts. Indoor with plenty of amenities. Completely advisable to play! Only downside is its location, quite far away from Philly city center. The rest is great!

What happens when you cross tennis with racquetball? Padel happens! If like me, you've never heard of Padel, I'd understand. After one of our group runs, we were all invited back for some open court time. Two courts are available for playing single or doubles. The rules are very similar to racquetball, if you've ever played or watched you'll have no problem picking things up quickly! The courts are open to the public and have open sessions on Wednesday and Friday nights. They also will be starting a league and have other times available if you'd like to rent out a court. Racket rentals are included! A half hour in the beating sun was enough for me however the time did fly. I think I'll give the league a shot...

Attended a play, "The Shoeshine Box". It was wonderful with a message to follow.
