Best Dance Studio near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Over 3 years moving and grooving at this wonderful establishment. I started taking classes at firewall in 2021. I began my “work” study in 2024. “Work” is in quotations because it has never felt like work. I sweep the floors with the same care and attention that I love the space with. I check-in dancers with the same welcoming energy that I received when I first met Elisa 3 years ago. I enter class with the energy of making dance what it should be: It’s about community. When you step through the door, you will feel accepted and loved and valued for what makes you unique. You will be challenged and pushed to be stronger and more vulnerable. Elisa is very strict about who teaches here because the comfort and safety of the dancers takes priority, so you can join any class feeling confident that you’ll be taken good care of, because that’s what families do. If I wasn’t moving away, I would be here every Saturday til I dropped. Can’t thank my Fire Fam enough for all the lessons, and for teaching me how to love myself.

I loved everything about this studio. It felt so homey and Elisa was so welcoming. The beginners technique class was a little hard for me, but everyone made me feel more comfortable by encouraging me and reassuring that it’s a beginners class and I’m doing good. I love everything about firewall, if you’re thinking about going, just do it.

Firewall is the best! I used to come here a lot when my school schedule allowed for it (I miss y’all 🥲) They have many levels and styles of dance, so there is something for everyone. The instructors are amazing teachers and people: positive, energetic, inspiring. I always feel physically pushed and refreshed coming out of class. I’m grateful for this studio and look forward to returning in the new year !

I love Firewall. I started 4 years ago at the age of 60 to tap. Elisa is the most wonderful teacher. Patient and positive. She has given me so much joy and confidence. I have performed in front of others. The studio has such an amazing energy. All the young dancers cheer me on!!!! I am trying contemporary dance! It brings me such joy.

Google Review for Los Sabrosos Dance Co Visited: June 21, 2024 I and a guest visited Los Sabrosos Dance Company located in the Garfield section neighborhood. This serves as my first review of the venue, but I have been to this location many times. Cover Charge and Atmosphere: After paying the $10.00 per cover charge, we always enjoy the many various Latin and afro beat dancing styles. It's enjoyable to dance freely and learn from the many talented dancers who showcase their skills magnificently on the dance floor. Well-deserved 5-stars rating. The venue is very small inside, but the energy is infectious. Yet again another 5-star rating. Ventilation and Comfort: Speaking about the atmosphere inside, the location does not have any form of ventilation to move the air. After dancing to just one song, I am always soaking wet from sweating. Having a single fan has no effect in cooling the area. When others stand in front of the fan, it doesn't help to keep the dance floor cooler. The venue would do well with a series of well-placed fans throughout the venue. Unfortunately, the dance studio gets a 1-star rating in this regard. Community and Experience: The people inside are always happy to share dance techniques with others. Huge 5-stars rating. Parking is done on the streets in and around the venue. On busy evenings, you may find that you have to park a block or two away. 4-stars rating. Overall, I recommend this location for those looking to dance to Latin music and for social gatherings. During the hot summer months, consider wearing light clothes due to the extreme heat inside. Maybe the club should install additional fans to help move the air around to cool the location. I will continue to dance here and enjoy the company of such a grand good time.

The happiest place on earth isn't Disneyland, it's Los Sabrosos! Since moving back to Pittsburgh I'm finding myself at their studio every week taking dance classes and joining in at their socials on the weekends. Nicolette and Agustin have created a warm and welcoming space where everyone can come and find a class they love and have a great time while learning latin dance. A few years ago I joined one of their dance teams to improve my technique and learned to perform, and haven't looked back. Their instructors are excellent and we've been able to participate in many dance events across the country to improve and perform together, forming many friendships along the way. I'm so glad to have found my dance family with Los Sabrosos!

Los Sabrosos studio has really inspired me! It shows how you can have both a social life and practice dancing. What I love most about Los Sabrosos is not only the exceptional dance foundation I received, but also the emphasis on building kind, confident, positive dancers and leaders. Encouraging fun, creativity, taking care of your mind, body and soul. Nicolette and Agustin take great care to ensure that their studio is a safe place for all dancers, and that the dancers care for and respect each other. They bring souls, families and community to unite in love.

I started taking Salsa and Bachata classes at Los Sabrosos two years ago, with no prior Latin or partner dance experience. I immediately felt comfortable and welcomed by the instructors, staff, and other dancers, and this new fun hobby quickly turned into an enduring passion. In addition to the positive environment that the studio has cultivated, I really appreciate the variety of classes Los Sabrosos offers (there are other dance styles, yoga, belly dance, etc.), and the twice a month dance socials where I can let loose with the larger Latin dance community. The instructors are all fantastic at helping you progress in technique, styling, and learning how to be in connection with whoever you're dancing with. There are also performance teams at a variety of styles and levels (including beginner!) for anyone who wants to learn choreography and how to perform on stage. I've recommended Los Sabrosos to anyone who has ever considered trying a dance class (even if you've never danced before!) and will continue to rave about it. This dance family is the real deal and I've developed many deep, lifelong friendships. I plan to dance with them for years to come.

This space is the most cozy with the sweetest people. So grateful to gather in this beautiful community for Sound Healing. Amanda is one of the kindest people to work with, and I look forward to all the continued connections and community.

Amarah is a gem of a space and I am so glad I was able to visit here. The studio offers a divers assortment of movement practices that are INCLUSIVE and the studio is beautifully mirrored with ample equipment for Yin, restorative and sculpt classes. The team is super friendly and was happy to point me in the direction I needed to locate a cute gift to take home to my family, as well as lots of clothing I'd buy at an affordable price. I was really impressed with the sense of community and openness I experienced here, as I showed up as a traveling yogi with the hopes of connecting and making some friends for a new home practice studio away from home. I can't wait to come back and take a class. The owner, Amanda, really cares and it shows. Thanks for the love, Amarah, I can't wait to come back soon!

I love Amarah. I enjoy their yin yoga and restorative yoga classes. They have a variety of workshops throughout the month that are also a lot of fun. The boutique has the cutest clothes ever along with other items such as hand made soap, jewelry, and candles. This is a nice one stop shop for all of your health and wellness needs. The owner and all of the instructors are very warm, welcoming, and inclusive. This is the best yoga studio ever.

The only fitness studio I have ever truly felt comfortable at in my life! Amarah’s mission to empower every body is real and it shows in both the boutique and the studio. So happy to have found this gem and the community within!

Amarah is a safe and inviting place to shop and work out. There are many fun classes and events. The minute you walk thru the doors you are welcomed like a special friend. It is a place where all sizes are made to feel like they matter and are apart of all groups. Actually size does not matter. You matter.
