I’ve been enjoying RockBox for some months now and this place is top notch in my book. I have just over 70 classes completed and my experience here is nothing but positive. Every Coach brings a wealth of experience and work with everybody to keep them motivated, progressing, and just overall positive individuals that keep me coming back. The workouts are well rounded, varied and bring the results! Huge shoutout to Coach Merv for running this business so well and making it the positive and motivating place that is!

Amazing gym!! Amazing people! Coach Murv, Coach Lauren and Coach X are incredible- knowledgeable, professional and welcoming! I have found my place! I’m getting strong and getting crazy good workouts that leave me sweating and feeling accomplished and always healthy since Coach Lauren is also a physical therapist who keeps her eye on my form! I couldn’t have found a better place to get fit and strong!!!

Visiting from Summerville, SC RockBox, I had an awesome experience! Coach Marvin was super helpful and answered all my questions before I arrived. My friend and I got there 30 minutes early and were greeted with a warm welcome. It was a core strength day, and while things were done slightly differently from my gym, they repeated the combos several times to ensure we all got it. Coach Frank also took the time to pull us aside and work on our form, speed, and strength. The best part? My friend joined today! I’ll definitely be visiting again, they made me feel like part of the family. Thank you!

Absolutely loving RockBox! It’s the best combination of my two favorite workouts! Kickboxing and functional training! I have been walking out with 550-600cal burn! HR in zone 3, burning fat, building endurance and strength! Watch out 2025!!

The minute I walked in this gym it was a apparent it was where I needed to be. This gym reminded me of the type of Gyms I grew up training in as a kid. The coach is very knowledgeable And Does Gym demands in encourages hard work. If you want to learn how to box properly this is where you need to be.

53 years old and new to boxing. Wanted to come join a legit boxing gym. Found it and more. Cumulative damage to my left shoulder limited me to maybe 50% mobility for the last several years, yet after 3 months working with Coach Tuan I am back to 95% AND am dropping weight and learning skills. If you have any interest at all in using Boxing to get in shape and/or learn the skills, this is the best place in Hampton Roads to be.

I've been boxing for a little under a year and been to several boxing gyms in the area and outside of it. I can say confidently that Powerhouse is the best gym I've been to yet and is worth every penny of what they charge. Coach is a great guy and is always answering any of the questions I may have or helping me to get better. He always is walking around watching people during drills and does a nice job mixing up what we are doing every day. The best part though for me is that all the other people in the classes are extremely helpful as well and have always been super welcoming even on my first day. Some other places I've been, you feel kind of strange for the first few weeks and almost feel like an outsider, I honestly didn't get that here and have been comfortable walking in ever since my first day. I've lost 10+ lbs in my time coming here and have had a great time doing it. I can not recommend Powerhouse enough and if you are looking for a boxing gym, please give it a try.

Fantastic. Small place, but coach Twon and coach Whitaker are so good with my son. He's a beginner, and they give him some tough love here.

I have to agree with Lily's review. VERY unprofessional. The sessions were an hour and a half long. My son got maybe 20 to 30 minutes of training. The rest of the time he was told to do things on his own. And after 6 weeks, he got hardly any training at all. Dorsett is the owner and "trainer." He calls all the kids by degrading nicknames. He doesn't know any of the kids' real names and doesn't bother to try. Part of boxing is wrapping your hands. He doesn't teach this either. He told my son to YouTube it and learn it himself. The music he would play was loud and NOT appropriate for children.. It always had vulgar and bad language.. Totally NOT worth the $80 a month I was paying. And Do Not do monthly recurring payments! My son stopped going and I communicated this to him and he still charged me $80 for the following month. I have been trying to get my $80 back. He has not given it back and makes excuses. He Loves to take your money!!.... for nothing.
