Best 24 Hour Gym near Sacramento, California

I just switched to City Sports because this gym has really gone downhill, I’ve been coming the last 2/3 years with my man. We used to love it because of the sauna and steam room, an amenity that a lot of other gyms don’t have, but the lack of cleanliness and maintenance makes it not even worth it. You walk in and it’s so packed and stinks, there’s like no ventilation. It’s dirty and unkept and the one time I saw the steam room off for maintenance those tiles looked so disgusting!! I never go in there anymore, and the sauna smells like BO, the floors in the pool area look like they’re never mopped and I’m sorry but people are hella gross there. I understand working out is not the cleanest action but from what I see I won’t even get into the spa or pool. It disgusted me so much coming here I HAD to switch gyms. It needs remodeling and renovation or a deep clean, idk but it’s definitely not maintained by staff. This is just the picture of the pool area floor to give you an idea

Some staff are rude. Parking spaces are very tight. Equipment and facilities aren't maintained well and can stay broken for months. Bathroom is stinky. Beware if they offer rate guarantee, it is not. Read the fine print.

Filthy, disgusting gym! The overall rating it presently has of 3.3 is way too generous. When I asked the front desk staff why it's so dirty everywhere, most especially in the women's locker room, bathroom and shower area, I was told that there were budget cuts and therefore no more janitor. Well, clearly the staff aren't doing anything to clean, either. It is simply horrifying. 24 hour fitness has really tanked over the years. They should be shut down completely. Where's the health inspector???

The most foul and unkept gym I’ve been to. The sauna has a strong pungent smell that needs to be addressed. The conditions in this gym are utterly disgusting and need more attention from management and staff. The type of clientele may play a role on why the gym gets trashed so quickly but there needs to be strict guidelines and repercussions for misusing the facility. Glad there are other gyms opening up nearby.

Not sure what happened to Google to delete my original review... 24 Hour Fitness is my favorite gym organization. I've had many other gym memberships in the last 50 years and 24 Hour is the best. They've had their share of changes and failures but overall it's been good. As far as this location goes, I've been coming here for almost 30 years.

Sadly, I would give this place 5 stars if I could but the people the gym serves are trashy. The employees are actually good but if you look around you it’s evident that there’s a societal issue. People on the side sleeping and doing drugs in plain view, people petty as hell about parking waiting to just start problems with their community, etc etc etc. it’s truly an audacity of south sac to have this reputation but it’s expected given the kind of people that live here. They’re ghetto because they want to be and they don’t even have the privilege of actually having nothing they just act ratchet out here. It’s truly a disgusting sight when you interact with the townsfolk. Even the women in the bathroom are gross— saying period every other word? Lmao. What a disgrace.

Bathrooms need to be cleaned better and more often . I don’t blame the staff . I wouldn’t touch it for what they get paid either . Pay the cleaners appropriately and they’ll perform appropriately. It’s not a job anyone wants to do , so pay it properly .

Inside... the place is clean. The staff is great. Machines always working. We go late at night usually because there are fewer people and more open machines. The night staff is great. Outside... the area is a bad area. Sketchy people, garbage, and security car always parked in a different spot in the parking lot but there is never anyone in the vehicle or anywhere to be found outside the car. It's a very bad area, Stockton and Fruitridge. But it's close to home and the Inside and staff bring us back.

I come to this location Sunday through Friday. Prior to Anthony leaving I expressed to him my concern with seeing the roaches in multiple locations he had good customer service hate to see him leave. I addressed the situation again this morning ( being I came across two roaches while working out)with the young lady at the counter with the black PF shirt on she is light skin I believe she may be biracial and she spoke to me as if I was telling a lie stating they clean and they don’t see roaches. As if I’m going to just make this up. This location is really going down hill with the customer service. You all need pest control weekly for the roach issue. Just cleaning is not going to solve the problem. This is not sanitary. Looks clean but they are definitely crawling around. Don’t sit your bags down you might bring them home with you. Just saying.

Love this gym. It’s affordable and clean. The black card benefits are worth it. The issue is the circuit is my favorite work out. I use the machine, steps, machine. The circuit goes in order 1, 2, 3 etc…. But people come sit on the machine and play on their phone for 10 -20 mins. The circuit is set up for you to finish in 30 minutes, but that is impossible. A few years ago I asked someone if they were done with the machine and she just started yelling me. No one from PF monitors this section and the sign is small so maybe people don’t know it’s a circuit. But it sucks that it is IMPOSSIBLE to finish the circuit here. Note: I had already spoke to several workers at the front desk on numerous occasions before posting this review. So the Owners comment is not helpful. So if you love the 30 minute circuit like I do, I would love to know if you know of another gym in which you can complete the circuit in 30 minutes rather than 90 minutes and people yelling at you.Thanks!
